Wow, so she got sacked for raising valid safeguarding concerns?

What about the other children? Are they being compelled to lie every day? Deny reality? This constitutes emotional abuse as defined in KCSIE and is also a human rights breach - compelled speech.

Unbelievable

how to respond to students questioning their gender

"Gender doesn't exist"

The situation in some schools is dire. Children being socially transitioned in secret from their parents. Teachers being told by self interested trans groups that it's fine to alienate children from their parents. Ignorant of decades of data showing that children in care / alienated from their families do terribly in all life measures - more likely to be involved with drugs, crime, low achievement, homeless etc etc.
Removing the influence of these dangerous adults must happen. Let teachers rediscover their skills in working in partnership with parents of these vulnerable children, hold the child at the centre of everything they do (not the demands of trans activist groups).
Schools know how to work with parents - the angry, difficult, homophobic, abusive etc. Children in difficult situations rely on teachers knowing what's going on and being alert, able to support and refer when necessary. Children confused about their sex should not be alienated from this support because adult trans groups demand it.

I'm so grateful to the people who are standing up to this horror. Well done that teacher.

I haven't managed to get to the whole article yet but the sub-heading!

Primary school tutor was told her Christian beliefs and welfare concerns could constitute ‘an act of direct discrimination’

Welfare concerns, an act of direct discrimination? Welfare concerns?!

Definitely basic safeguarding. I hope the interim Cass Review will help this teacher's case (and I also hope she wins BIG)

RhinestoneCowgirl · 12/05/2023 19:42

I could read it.

This feels so raw for me as DD spent last couple of years at primary with very short hair and trousers and showing an interest in some things that certain parts of society would see as 'for boys'. But she absolutely knew that she was a girl, and that humans can't change sex.

This poor child and poor teacher. Basic safeguarding.

Sorry I didn't realise it's behind a paywall. It let me read it from Facebook.
