It’s been a while since I last looked at comedy ‘feminism’ website Everyday Feminism so I thought I’d check it out.

Please enjoy this comic about Why Cis Women Spaces Are Transphobic featuring an angry and aggressive male shouting at a woman protecting her boundaries, while understanding that the angry male is the victim of this tale and the woman is the villain.

It’s hard to believe that there are women out there who just unquestioningly swallow this misogynistic nonsense.

'Women-Only' Spaces That Exclude Trans Women Lead Us Down This Awful Path - Everyday Feminism

What have you heard about excluding transgender women from so-called “women-only” spaces? People have different ideas about why cis-women-only spaces are necessary, but their ideas come from assumptions and misunderstandings about how power and privile...

I can never quite work out whether they actually don't understand the argument or whether it's a deliberate misrepresentation of the argument in order to make our opposition seem trivial.

They really seem to live in a fantasy where they think we're all forcing our girls to wear pink and play with dolls and our boys to be tough and never cry!

"assumptions and misunderstandings about how power and privilege work".

They're soooooo close to understanding!

Violetsrosesandchocolate · 12/05/2023 06:53

And why shouldn’t ‘cis’ women be heard more often in feminist spaces? Who else should be heard? Angry, bullying men like our heroine?

These toddlers never the know the history of why women-only spaces came to exist in the first place, or how they came to be legally protected.

"I want a place where I can be heard and supported by other women .... because [I claim] I am a woman!" That place is called "Planet Earth". All lives matter, bro.

Violetsrosesandchocolate · 12/05/2023 06:51

I wonder if the author is an undercover mumsnetter and is secretly trying to peak people? No one could be this brainwashed otherwise, surely? Unless they are actually a ‘woman’ like the shouty male in the strip?

It's not just crap, it's really offensive. Complete gaslighting. "Cis women are heard more than anyone else in feminist spaces!" That's a complaint we're supposed to take seriously, is it?

Forfrigz · 12/05/2023 06:46

No one is born a woman of a man. You are born female or male and become a woman of a man respectively based on the sex you are at conception. Pretending sex doesn't exist isn't helpful to anyone except people who wish to live in delusion and force others to help them do so.

This cartoon is clearly showing why women sometimes want space away from male pattern aggression, such as the type demonstrated by the male bodied person screaming in the woman's face!

ArcticSkewer · 12/05/2023 06:10

That's hilarious.

I mean, it's exactly right. Women don't want shouty men in their faces.

And transmen are female so no contradiction there either.

it's not like the evil transphobes hate all transpeople ... how very weird. Could it be they are not transphobic at all? Brain explodes.

Incidentally, it 100% isn’t transphobia as all the women were allowed in, including the ones who had transitioned.

What’s awful about that path?

Seems an entirely sensible path to me. Crap cartoon. Makes the opposite point to the one it intends!

I thought the same. The man leaning over and shouting at the woman that he should be allowed in because he just wants to be heard is particularly apt.
