In 2013, under his birth name Andy Chu, he wrote an article titled “I am a Racist” for the Duke University’s student newspaper, The Chronicle.

In it, he confesses to racial fetishization, and states that he uses the “Chinese qualities” of his girlfriend to “massage my own colonial sense of multiculturalism.”

Under his birth name, Chu wrote: “I relish the notion of having mixed-race children but I remind myself that I would never raise them with a backward Chinese notion of family. I objectify her. I exoticize her. I see her race and her gender before I see her.”''

So this is by their own definition one f—-ed up dude.

My gosh, what a read. These people are nothings, just cyphers, empty vessels into which to pour their new IDs. Or more accurately plaster casts into which the new IDs are moulded. Or is that donning the new ID like a gimp suit, latex mask or skin, Buffalo Bill-style?

Of course the irony is that the more these characters attempt to shed or hide their "previous" ID, the more they prove their ID of grasping, aggressive, misoginist, self-hating men is reinforced.

NO woman, certainly no sane woman, would even begin to entertain such fantasises.

And so here we have it, men with paraphillias, promoting the most woman hating of all philosophies, are lauded by the establishment.

Grace Lavery should have gotten a Pulitzer's, too! After all, Lavery defined 'woman' as those who take the submissive role in sex, focus on home rather than the labour market.

Perhaps Lavery wasn't misogynistic enough to get the book a Pulitzer Prize? Better luck next year.

I have strongly disagreed with Chu's opinion on lots of trans matters and on feminism, but at least it is a thoughtful, philosophical approach which is open to discussion.
The Pulitzer is for criticism: so what does it matter if one disagrees with her position on other issues? How does that make her award less valid?

I shouldn't feel the need to put a sensitivity filter on a Pulitzer prize winner's words. Yet here we are

I always laugh when the trans protagonists say the the label "women" is irrelevant since there's no way to encapsulate the experience every woman on Earth.

And my God, this is so true. Because I guarantee if you asked all four to five billion genuine women on Earth whether this character in any way encapsulates their experience, they would to a women say: fuck no, no way!
