Gosh it is heartening to see even more evidence that the tide has turned. She's stuck to her guns and been too reasonable to be cancelled by the misogynists.

Both your sentences are flat out wrong:

A "sex change operation" does not change someone's sex, but effects are superficial and crude approximation of the other sex.

Only a very tiny minority of trans-identifying people have a "sex change operation", especially genital surgery.

No one changes sex. Take hormones, have surgery but in every cell in the body you are either XX, woman or XY =man. It's a delusion to think that creating an artificial vagina and boobs makes a man a woman. It's a very simplistic attitude.

So called sex change operations do not change your sex on account of that being impossible. They just mock up some superficial resemblance of the other sexes genitals. Not the same by a massively long stretch.

Well, it's when you have a non-athlete male prancing around and taking the piss out of a) women, and b) athletes and sports people (women) whilst advertising a sports bra that is supposed to support breasts and prevent pain whilst exercising (when said male doesn't even have breast implants, just a flat male chest and non-existant pecs) that people are done with this shit.

Yes, there was a lot of misinformation about that particular case and some people got it wrong. You do realise that your take "aligns" you with Andrew Doyle (cf his latest book The New Puritans)? (I'm not a believer in "guilt by association, but so many of JKR's detractors are.)

Actually I would not enter a public lavatory designated for males for several reasons. One, they invariably stink of urine. Two it's disrespectful to males to think they will want to urinate in front of a random woman. ( I'm clearly talking about lavatories where there are urinals). And three, if I want men to respect me and not use the female loos then I don't use theirs. It's not trendy or right on to do it. Just disrespectful.

I don't agree. The trans toilet debate has unfortunately complicated things, but I still believe in potty parity as a feminist goal. As long as there isn't equal provision (as in equal wait times, which means a minimum of 2:1 relationship in facilities) then men don't have a moral claim to quiet enjoyment of their privileges.

Thanks for the airplane hack. Didn’t work but might try again. I did a full at attempt to sign up to the telegrapher once and they took money out of my account but I still couldn’t read any articles and my attempts to contact them about this went unanswered so I cancelled the subscription! Their loss.

But on the topic, I think her appearance on the podcast also helped a lot in making it clear for the public what she thinks and doesn’t think.

She was calm, rational, emphatic and it very clear on her views.

It is lovely that the truth now wants out and that people can start to say it with less fear.
Such a weird climate of fear, as if that is something a righteous movement would like to foster.

Dress how you like, call yourself any name and have sex with any consenting adult that will have you, but don’t try to force me to pretend that biological sex doesn’t matter and that it us possible to change your sex.
