Gosh it is heartening to see even more evidence that the tide has turned. She's stuck to her guns and been too reasonable to be cancelled by the misogynists.

Also James Lindsay presents a nice overview of the woke, critical costructivist, cultural marxist belief system (which encompasses really radical trans ideology.) Anyone familiar with him as well as the Harry Potter stories, what do you think of the analogy of the different strains of that ideology (post-colonialism, CRT, intersectionality etc) as horcruxes?

I think the general tone here is brilliant-
calmly looking at nonsense and observing 'Hmmm, that's complete nonsense.' There's really no winning against that. Idiocy can stamp it's feel and scream "Look at me and take me seriously! Be scared, be anything, but react." If you look calmly at it and don't react you zap all the power out of the inflammatory whateveritis.

If he subsequently decided that entitled him to use women's toilets or a bed in a women's hospital ward, that's a different story.

Plenty of the female-named Mills and Boon writers are men who use female pen names because women like to read a romance (apparently) written by other women.

Any author can use whatever name they prefer if they think it will give them a larger readership. They'd be foolish not to.

It doesn't change their sex (or even their gender).

She's triggered by calling a trans woman a she/trans man a he etc. If you think the concept of being trans is a bad thing, then there's no point in insisting you don't have a problem with it.

But why should she have to call a man "she"? Or a woman, "he"? Or a - whatever - binary, non-binary, who knows - "they"?

KJK is more than happy for people to live as they wish - she just doesn't think that she should have to live as they wish. And nor do I.

We use pronouns about other people when they aren't there. Makes no difference to them - they can't hear it. And if they do and they don't like it - well, I'm sorry they find it upsetting, but I don't like living with cognitive dissonance.

And surely if that girl had miraculously become a boy, s/he shouldn't have remained in the school anyway - and certainly shouldn't be showering with the girls after PE.
