Feminism: Sex and gender discussions
Barbecuebeans · 12/04/2023 08:23

Does he believe children should smoke, take drugs, not go to school, have sex at 12? Is it only changing their biology that he thinks kids know best about? Or what?

LizzieSiddal · 12/04/2023 08:21

Radcliffe’s girlfriend is pregnancy at the moment. God help that child if they show signs of being a totally rounded child who likes pink and blue.

Becoming a father will be a shock for Daniel. Imagine his surprise when his toddler child doesn’t make good or rational decisions. Bring on that cutted up pear!

suzyscat · 12/04/2023 08:17

Though finally something DR and I agree on, from the article:

"Radcliffe said: 'There are some people in the world who are not trying to engage in this conversation in any kind of good faith."

WinterTrees · 12/04/2023 08:16

Daley added: 'I don't understand why I can't just decide that I'm a girl. If it's a big decision to decide I'm a girl, it's a big decision to decide I'm a boy.'

'Right,' Radcliffe said as he nodded.

Christ on a bike, these kids have been badly failed somewhere along the line.

I’m guessing Daniel doesn’t have children or much contact with children in general because if he did, he’d be very aware that 11 year olds are very fickle and prone to changing their minds on a whim. So whilst this fickleness is simply very annoying for the parents (who fork out 50 quid for uniform) if the child wants to go to Scouts or Guides then after a couple of weeks decides it’s not for them, it becomes far more serious if an 11 year old wants to change sex 😵‍💫 and embarks on PBs.

Daniel doesn’t seem to understand that children don’t have the same cognitive abilities as adults.

Musomama1 · 12/04/2023 08:14

Exactly PP, wait til Radcliffe is a parent and see how he feels about his child taking puberty blockers, conducting a medical and social experiment on them.

I thought Radcliffe said this topic was best kept to professionals? Maybe he'd have a conversation with Hilary Cass on the best way to treat gender dysphoria?

Radcliffe responded: 'But there are also people who also have a slightly condescending but well-meaning attitude of, "people are young... and it is a huge decision.'

He asked the group of trans youths: 'I would love to hear from all of you about why we can trust kids to tell us who they are.'

Because children caught up in an ideological movement, and what is arguably a mental health issue, are the best people to ask? It's just going to be a dispassionate assessment of the scientific evidence isn't it?

"It's not phase mum." Is the favourite catchphrase of teenagers everywhere has been long before my time.

Fortunately dyed black hair and Mohawks grow out so our DM's were able to "yes dear" and wait it out.

daisy1765 · 12/04/2023 08:07

you can tell Daniel isn't a parent yet!
11 years old?
I have an 11 year old and can safely say that 11 year olds aren't the finished article and often change their minds from day to day (or hour to hour!)

KalimbaMoon · 12/04/2023 08:05

This is infuriating! I didn’t conform to any gender stereotypes as a child. I hated dolls and preferred Action Man to Barbie. I also hated dresses and skirts. Let kids be kids and stop imposing stereotypes on them!

Animalsoffartingwood · 12/04/2023 08:01

I like blue. Off to fashion myself a penis out of any offal I find lying about.

00100001 · 12/04/2023 07:58

More fucking stereotypes... I don't like blue..I must be a girl.. what utter fucking bollocks.

Why is it always young trans kids saying they're a girl because they like pink aaarrrrrgghhhhh

I don't care. I say let kids be kids. If they want to play with trucks and dress in overalls all their childhood life let them, if they want to play with Barbie's etc and dress as princesses all their childhood lives, let them....if they're happy. If other people complain, naysay etc, then it's their problem. If they outwardly express their discuss to the parent or child, they it's their problem, they're the negative and need to let it go. Barbie child and overall child might go to school dressed as a boy or a girl.. as long as they're happy and learning and have stability, friends and are able to push negativity away and accept opinions as they are.. opinions, but still carry on as they were, then fair enough. I don't think a parent should decide their child's gender. I think they should embrace who their child is, not push them in any direction and accept who they turn out to be as long as the child is happy and surrounded by happiness. I used to paint a beard in my face and dress as a 'male' burglar for god's sake, I'd help my dad change plugs and saw through wood etc... I was happy, they didn't push or decide and I'm a happy woman with two DC and a husband I adore, plenty of friends and no regrets.. my parents didn't dictate nor choose who I was. I was just a happy little child. End.

It’s this part that drives me mad;
He was told at the round table by 11-year-old trans girl, Daley: 'I learned out of the cradle that I was a boy: "I should like blue, I should like sports, I should be manly, I should like superheroes".'
As Radcliffe nodded, she continued: 'And I never associated myself with those things and we are told that we are not old enough to know this yet. I am only 11-years-old, how do I know I'm a girl? And I need more time to think about this.'

Daley should be helped to see that you don’t have to like blue, sports or superheroes to be a man, not told that that makes a girl, JFC, the absolute regressive nests of the trans ideology drives me mad!
But no, Daniel bloody Radcliffe just nods along like an absolute dick and advocates for sterilisation and mutilation of kids who don’t conform, way to go! What a shame none of the integrity of the HP books rubbed off on him.

JacquelinePot · 12/04/2023 07:48

Why are so many people so, I can't think of a better word, stupid?

PatatiPatatras · 12/04/2023 07:47

Ah the privilege of growing up under parents who worried about you.

FatFucker · 12/04/2023 07:43

Blimey look at the comments, more negative down thumbs than a Meg and Harry story!

He's not reading the room properly. Oh dear how sad!
