Do you know what Nike? Forget about “just do it”, as far as I am concerned you can just do one.

Reading further, I see that lots of female athletes have already been boycotting Nike due to their disgusting attitude to women.

Perhaps DM was the best they could get, after all the fantastic women told Nike to fluff off?

Frustrating as well that it takes DM to get women boycotting Nike.

rather than their long history of treating actual women like shit.

No idea why my comment was deleted.

But let me say again that Joe Biden is supportive of Dylan.

And that I just learned Dylan was on Glee.

Who was Dylan in Glee?

The whole other thread has been deleted rather than deal with the issue of compelled speech and misgendering and which one is rude/acceptable.

It's frustrating isn't it.

We are expected not to hurt the feelings of men who make money out of mocking and parodying women.

Our feeling are always lesser.

We all know what sex DM is.

MrsMurphyIWish · 07/04/2023 15:23

I’m SO angry that the thread was deleted. I have enough shit at work when I accidentally call kids by their wrong pronouns - this is MY safe space.

BellaPiella · 07/04/2023 15:22

Really feel like throwing out my Nike gym wear now and replace with a different brand! Will not buy Nike again.

Should I be honoured? My post has just been deleted for misgendering DM 😀

Was about to start a new one.

”I don’t menstruate as I have the coil and peri-menopausal. Shall be just carry sanpro round me?”

I wondered where it had gone.

I know we've seen similar shit before but this has pissed me off hugely.

I'm struggling to process why that is.

Maybe it's just a perfect storm of factors.

The choice of DM over the many accomplished and inspiring female athletes they could have chosen.

The fact that DM has no requirement for any of the needs females have in respect of sports clothing (such as breast /tummy support).

Finally the whole prancing around parody of this is how women work out. It's just so deeming.

I'm seething.

SoNoWrecksToday · 07/04/2023 15:08

Sorry if this has already been mentioned. Nike immediately dropped an elite female athlete a few years ago when she became pregnant. Look up Allyson Felix.

They were roundly criticized and changed their policy, but it looks as though the same old misogynistic views remain firmly in place.

MrsMurphyIWish · 07/04/2023 14:58

My DH is a marathon runner and he too loves NB.

Ah thank you, any particular style or do they all have decent cushioning?

Honestly back when the PF started someone recommended nike air, so that's what I got, never thought I'd have to boycott them, so never really looked for others.

Tbh, I’ve had different styles and have splashed on the top range to the lower range (only difference for me was the mile wear). I was advised them because I had my gait analysed and their styles have a high back on the ankle and all have a foam cushioning. They work for me!

@Ourladycheesusedatum I have scoliosis so suffer from many running injuries. New Balance are my friend!

She knows her stuff, is she on here? Idle musings.

Anyway I used to buy Nike airs. No more. So sad, it really helped with my plantar fasciitis when it flared up. But I'm certain there is some other trainer out there that will have the same cushioning.

Gosh, one would be inclined to think Nike have no respect for women - even those who are outstanding athletes.

Yet, what one might view as a ridiculous chappie mocking women gets their gold.

What might be helpful at this stage is a list of brands who do not endorse the mocking of women. I actually need a 'supportive' bra for my exercise drive; I can tell you it won't be Nike.

have a google for how Nike treat the “amazing women athletes” the choose to market their stuff to.

alberto Salazar and project oregon
70% cut in sponsorship to a female athlete who got pregnant.
setting performance targets for another post c-sec athlete or lose sponsorship.

they have an extensive history of treating women like shit.

women like Simone Biles terminated their sponsorships because of the way Nike treated them.

this is not out of character for Nike. Women are clearly a PITA so logically they would choose a man to market their womenswear.

And maybe that’s why their sportswear is so shite for women. Always been thin and badly fitting. Apparently it’s perfect for dickheads though.

FFS I just bought some new Nike trainers for the summer. I’m returning them pronto.

Of all the amazing female athletes Nike could have chosen to market their stuff to women and girls they choose this unpleasant person.

What a joke.

The post is a paid ad which means Nike paid Dylan anything up to $40,000 for him to mock women, although to be fair, Dylan was mocking women for free and from day one of his journey through girlhood.

If the video wasn't a paid for ad, Nike's lawyers would have been all over this by now and forced him to remove it. But they have not.

Cailleach1 · 07/04/2023 14:14

Maybe a better sign of humour is to avoid the multiple F's.

Cailleach1 · 07/04/2023 14:12

Just an addition of what that chappie is not.

HereForTheFreeLunch · 07/04/2023 14:12

What do you saying? Dylan is a joker so why aren't we laughing?
