Seriously, what the actual fuck? A group set up to discuss the plight of Afghan and Iranian women and it's cancelled because TRAs don't like a speaker at the event. If ever an example was needed as to how horrifically self-absorbed these people are, this has got to be it.

"Never mind what's happening to other humans in war zones/oppressive regimes, WHAT ABOUT OUR FEELINGS?"

Jesus fucking wept.

Transgender threats force halt to symposium backing Afghan women

A symposium in support of Afghan and Iranian women has been postponed after organisers received threats from transgender activists for inviting a feminist who claims sex is determined by biology. The Comité Laïcité République (republic secularism commit...

So fuck the women in countries where they are completely and utterly oppressed because of their biological sex that they are not allowed to identify out of, because some men who decided they felt like women and some women who decided they felt like men didn't like someone!

Seriously these people need to GROW THE FUCK UP.

Absolutely this. It makes me so angry.

I know. Macron needs to be told he needs the support of women too.

Yes. He doesn't seem to be listening.

Le Pen is more likely to be against trans ideology than Macron, who seems somewhat woke, sadly.

Quite. Aux armes Citoyens. Macron needs your votes. Or le Pen will gratefully accept them.

TheCentreSlide · 06/04/2023 19:13

The nothingness of trans ideology is extraordinary and the aggression in furthering it, really fucking scary.

The fact that liberal people think it’s good that men have shut down this event - feel justified!? It’s sickening.

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 06/04/2023 11:20

Jeez louise

Mahaut Bertu, the leftist deputy mayor of Nantes, accused Stern of wanting to reduce women to “females, to a uterus, to a reproductive apparatus. “The danger for women . . . does not come from trans people. The danger . . . comes from the patriarchy [and] the sexism, the violence and the discrimination it engenders,” she said.

trans ideology IS the patriarchy you absolute fucking numpty

They do make proper knobs of themselves, don’t they?

C’mon France, stand up! If womanhood was just an identity, all those Afghan and Iranian women could declare themselves nonbinary AFABs and be done with sexist oppression overnight.

Quite. Aux armes Citoyens. Macron needs your votes. Or le Pen will gratefully accept them.

turbonerd · 06/04/2023 10:08

The traliban.

Sums it up in one Word.

It is strange that they don’t see how it is in fact the biological sex of the women in Iran and Afghanistan and in the rest of the bloody world that makes us women.

I hope France takes notice.

FrancescaContini · 06/04/2023 08:55

@AlisonDonut Yes, you’ve nailed it.

AlisonDonut · 06/04/2023 08:25

So in order to stop a symposium about violence against women, they threaten violence against women?

Every time we pop up to talk about male violence, they come along and shut it down with male violence.

Weird.

JacquelinePot · 06/04/2023 08:14

Fuck me. I thought I reached the summit it 2018 but every day there's a new outrage. Hopefully these should set the French on an upwards adventure.

viques · 06/04/2023 08:13

Wow. How do these people even decide to this? Do they sit round a table and solemnly discuss the issue, how in Iran and Afghanistan women are being beaten to death, imprisoned, subjected to physical and emotional abuse, denied the freedom to study, to work, to travel, to wear what they want , to speak out about their oppression both in public and on private forums, and come to the conclusion that actually, it is all about them and their hurt feelingz.

And the absolute irony of it being in France, where the symbol of the country’s equality is a woman. Maybe she needs to be replaced by a man in a dress.

Helleofabore · 06/04/2023 08:10

I wonder how many French feminists are too scared to speak out in case they lose their positions. Surely they can see the dangers here, didn’t they learn any lessons back in the 70s and lowering the age of consent ?

FannyCann · 06/04/2023 08:05

"But she became embroiled in controversy when she helped to launch what she calls the “Femellist movement”. Its stated aim is to counter transgender activism, which Stern describes as a “Trojan horse” for “masculinist” movements seeking to reduce women’s rights. “Being a woman is not a feeling or a sentiment or a fantasy or a taste in clothes but a biological and sexual reality,” the website says."

I think she is partnered with Doura Moutot on this, setting up the Femellist movement.
She did a great interview with Julie Bindel which explains a lot.

BoredOfThisMansWorld · 06/04/2023 07:59

There's not a single feminist issue that TRAs don't attempt to appropriate or disrupt campaigns for.

Next time a faux naive thread appears scolding feminists here to be kinder and argue less, this is a great example of how "inclusive" feminism can never help actual women.

nepeta · 06/04/2023 07:15

The narcissism of it! Reminds me of a narcissist I actually knew who many years ago wrote a supposed sympathy note to a family where one member was found to be terminally ill and the whole note was about the narcissist's acne and hay fever.

But it may be important for the world to see that this is how the fervent trans activists behave. The awful suffocating oppression of women in Afghanistan is less important than their validation demands.

It’s the same men. Whether Eastern women-hating violent facists in Taliban outfits, or Western women-hating violent facists in drag.

It’s exactly the same men.

You are right.

Tras are always wrongly accusing people defending women and children as being aligned with the far right.

Here they are aligned with the Taliban.

EmotionalSupportHyena · Today 03:18
The TRAliban.

Exactly.

Igmum · 06/04/2023 06:56

Awful. They don't give a stuff about anyone but themselves do they?

Malariahilaria · 06/04/2023 06:31

TRAliban is perfect!!!!

Inaea · 06/04/2023 00:27

So the sequence of events is

  • Women in Afghanistan have their rights removed and are routinely raped and murdered etc.
  • Women in Europe attempt to meet to discuss this.
  • Men in Europe threaten those women with violence, rape, murder etc.
  • The women in Europe are silenced except in anonymous online forums.

It’s the same men. Whether Eastern women-hating violent facists in Taliban outfits, or Western women-hating violent facists in drag.

It’s exactly the same men.

MenopausalMe · 06/04/2023 00:22

Thanks for the share, Hopefully that will shock a few in France. The depravity of blocking support for women in Iran and Afghanistan

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 06/04/2023 00:17

Utterly ridiculous.

TheCentreSlide · 06/04/2023 00:12

The misogyny of TRAs knows no bounds.

And the narcissism of it. The hateful, endless, aggressive vanity and self-absorption of trans activism seeking to silence women.
