Communist Party UK statement on GRR

@BlackForestCake A CPB member spoke at the SFW event in Glasgow. Other members attended.

I had to sign a form saying I was not a member of any communist , socialist or affiliated organisation to get a US visa , back in the 70s. Including trade unions.

Having spent time in many US states and having zero desire to return I am happy to declare myself a Marxist. With each passing day I become more left wing and less tolerant of bourgeois identity bollocks.

He’s now tweeting out the Stella Perrett cartoon that everyone wanted banned 3 years ago, that was supposedly so evil no one should look at it

I mean yes, Communist regimes have been totalitarian ones in recent times. In fairness to the CPGB I imagine they're more along the lines of "to the left of some of the nuttier Corbyn-type" crowd rather than actual Stalinists. Can't imagine I'd vote for them on that basis alone! But still, anyone arguing they're not on the left has lost the plot.

I think in "left wing" circles, CPGB are not seen as the high priests of socialism. I know the Socialist Workers hate them. It's all very "People's Front of Judea" vs "Judean Peoples Front " (for Monty Python fans). Historically this has always been in thing on the far left - right back to Spanish Civil War and further back.

Anyhoo, it's quite bold of CPGB to stick their neck out explicitly on this because it may spark discussion on the left - which the left doesn't want.

I knew for a long time that CPGB had this position but, like GB News, because they are batshit on lots of things, I don't set much stock in it.

Other than an excuse to get the popcorn out.

communism is literally about equality. It rejects gender stereotypes.

What you and a lot of people get confused about is authoritarian dictators who say they are communists - and because the Fear of Communism has taken such deep root by people who don't actually check what it is, this is swallowed hook, line and sinker.

I think of left/right more as a circle than a straight line i.e. fascism/nazism and communism meet each other at the end of the extreme spectrum - one being a right wing autoritarianism the other being a left wing authoritarianism (although nazism was actually a strange hybrid national socialism, with state ownership).

I could never vote for communism: it's the ultimate levelling down system except for the inevitable elite at the top. In capitalism you have a financial elite. In communism you have a political elite. But you always have an elite.

So, I am still politically homeless.

I realise communism is not exactly everyone’s cup of tea, but it would be much harder for TRAs to call us Nazis if the Communist Party turned up to Let Women Speak events.

Personally I don't see a difference in palatability between actual Communists and actual Nazis. I don't think feminism needs support from any genocidal ideologies.

as much as anything this kind of unequivocal statement from an organisation (albeit fringe) helps to demonstrate gender ideology is not a foregone conclusion, I’ll take that
