Boycott New Zealand

Let's hit the state sanctioned violence against women where it hurts - in their pockets.

Off the top of my head:

Wine - Oyster Bay, Villa Maria, the Ned, Wairau Cove, Brancott Eatate, Cloudy Bay
Lamb - check the label to make sure it's British
Manuka honey and ordinary honey - M&S stock quite a few.
Wool
Allbirds shoes
Canterbury clothing.

Have I missed anything?

Also write to the PM: [email protected]
Minister for trade: [email protected]

And tell them you're boycotting and why. There's no point if they don't know you're doing it!

@EdithStourton I said earlier, my dads a farmer, I asked him about that and just how things are for farmers and he told me farmers are better off than most people and I needn’t concern myself. But that’s animal farming. Fruit and vegetable farmers will be having a different experience, however I’ve always thought it unethical to transport fruit from nz to uk.

Thanks, @Whaeanui - I should have read the thread but there's so much to keep up with these last few days.

Younger 😊

Hurrah! There's hope for the future then.

nilsmousehammer · 30/03/2023 16:26

And kittens are really cute with Quirrell being the name chosen by JKR for a dodgy character, which is definitely also relevant.

Am going looking for Alberino wine, thank you for the rec!

Oh, ffs, landof thinks quenelles are nazi! Fascist fine dining anyone?

The Quenelle is the name of an inverted salute that is used by modern neo-Nazis to signal their hatred of Jewish people.

Apparently this is very funny to Mumsnet users.

They’re adults. Both very GC one much more vocal about it 😬

Older or younger than me? I'm 37.

That she always acknowledges the amazing NZ women too, is only right but many people would forget to do that

Yes and it’s appreciated. I know the women there are scared, some of them are my friends and I know my mother is concerned about public spaces and changing rooms too. My daughters both said to me after the weekend they’re glad we don’t live there anymore and won’t be visiting while self ID & all this woman hating changes. Which is really sad for us, I want all of us to be connected to our culture, but we won’t risk our lives or support NZ when it does this to women.

How old are your daughters, out of interest?

EdithStourton · 30/03/2023 15:33

I'm a bit late to the thread and I haven't read it all, but I'm reluctant to boycott NZ in anyway that will have an impact on the farmers. They are under huge pressure from their government at the moment and really don't need any more strife.

That said, I was desperate to go there on holiday. Now, not so much.

coldmarchmorn · 30/03/2023 15:29

It's sometimes called Alvarinho if its portuguese but can be Albarino too.

DialSquare · 30/03/2023 15:18

coldmarchmorn · 30/03/2023 15:16

Spanish/Portoguese

That's interesting. I've only ever bought Spanish but I'll look for Portuguese too now.

DialSquare · 30/03/2023 15:12

If anyone is liking for a nice white wine, I can recommend Albariño which is a Spanish wine. It's my favourite white.

Clymene · 30/03/2023 15:10

I've just been shopping and shunned all my favourite NZ wine in favour of French and South African.

IcakethereforeIam · 30/03/2023 14:03

I'm going to start calling Kiwi fruit Chinese gooseberries and get cherry blossom instead of Kiwi boot polish. That'll learn 'em.

I think KJK has been much more even handed with the NZ police than I feel they deserve. That she always acknowledges the amazing NZ women too, is only right but many people would forget to do that. She knows it isn't just about her. It makes it harder to dismiss her as an interloper, though Lord knows they're trying.

SinnerBoy · 30/03/2023 13:49

@Mommymoments

All the Nz Marlborough Sauvignon blancs😩 nooo but I'll do it!

Well, we can keep one another virtual company, as we scrabble frantically for an alternative!

SinnerBoy · 30/03/2023 13:47

Let me see if I've got this right. If you assemble in public and Nazis turn up, you're a Nazi? If so, why aren't all the TRA Zealots lining up to denounce one another as Nazis?

Anyway, I really hope that the thug who broke the old lady's skull is arrested soon and given the prison sentence he thoroughly deserves.

I'm still surprised that none of the ordinary news sites have reported it, if some hoodies had bashed her, it would be all over the front pages, until they were found and arrested.

ArabellaScott · 30/03/2023 12:46

Oh, it's fine to hate some people of course. In fact if they're declared non grata, or unhumanised, it's obligatory. The numbers of non-persons that the progressive genderists say we are obliged to hate grows every day.

RosaBonheur · 30/03/2023 12:39

The point of that noise was to make it impossible for Posie Parker to speak.

Saying the quiet part out loud there I see, Anna.

I note that neither of those disingenuous, virtue signalling twats saw fit to mention the assaults committed by those beautiful, rainbow coloured humans with "no room for hate" in their hearts.

ArabellaScott · 30/03/2023 12:25

hazeleyednerd · 30/03/2023 09:48

Genuinely asking here if you can share a link to anything showing where the woman's skull was fractured? There is nothing I can find in any NZ media (mainstream or otherwise) indicating this and my international news site searches have also been fruitless. If she in fact did have her skull fractured this is something I think would be important to kiwi women to know, to understand the violence.

I read it here:

Whaeanui · 30/03/2023 10:16

So why are New Zealand's politicians praising those responsible for the violence rather than condemning them?

Because they’re cowards and woman-haters.
