This woman has shown just how magnificent she can be in the face of hateful misogyny. When most of us might want to run away from such abuse and attacks, she stands strong.
History is full of such women. Let’s post photos of those Queens who stand up for women.

She's all the best adjectives!
I think previous posters on this thread have just about used them all already - fabulous, wonderful, brave, awesome, etc., she's all of those things and more ( as are the other women who have turned up to speak, including those who apparently turned up at Speakers Corner today.
All of whom should be more than proud of themselves!
All that said, i do wonder if her family, particularly her kids, might be asking her to stop now. I wouldn't blame them tbh, if they were watching the other night they must have been so scared for her.
Anyway, I take my hat off to her and all the other brave women, you all rock!

Slothtoes · 26/03/2023 18:05

OK have looked at JKR timeline and she is pro Posie or at very least JKR is anti-authoritarian men intimidating threatening and hurting women who try to speak. Phew, I was worried for a minute there.

Slothtoes · 26/03/2023 18:01

Thedarkestblue I’m not sure is that JKR tweet pro Posie? Could be read the other way too.

The most comfortable place for women to stand has always been where there's most male approval. Such women sell out other women for their own benefit, then point to their personal success as a great feminist triumph

TiedUpWithABlackVelvetBand · 26/03/2023 17:44

You do not speak for me, @onetimelemon - nor my family and friends.

The breath-taking arrogance of you!?

Just like the protesters.

Why not just let her - and the other women she was giving a platform to - speak?? And then argue back on anything you disagree with?

What are you so afraid of?

TheClitterati · 26/03/2023 16:58

There is currently a film out about Whina Cooper called Whina.

I watched it on the plane to NZ a couple of weeks ago.

Whina g.co/kgs/DbFBEA.

I think a discussion on LinkedIn is quite significant, real names, job titles etc. loads of men denouncing the action of the mob. I honestly think she has woken so many up and whilst the TRAs are busy gloating, they just can’t yet see the clarity she has brought - without even saying a word.

A woman enabling other women to speak. Very powerful.

Exactly! The responses on that linked in thread say a lot!
Even so many people not knowing much about KJK and LWS, its clear this has got them asking and looking.

I'd recommend having a look at it to anyone if you haven't

agent765 · 26/03/2023 16:02

I wish I had her bravery and energy. I hope she sees how respected and supported she is by women who understand how important this is.

I haven't always been 100% sure about KJK's methods, but after yesterday, I am in awe of her.

Her bravery is astonishing. Her willingness to put herself in danger to expose the tactics of the mob must surely be the tipping point in this mess.

Courage calls to courage. She's going to be in the history books someday, as a hero fighting for the rights of all women, even those who disagree with and want to hurt and silence her.

She will be in history books.

Calling · 26/03/2023 14:34

KJK is a true inspiration.
What happened will make more women stand up for women's and girls' rights.

What Posie is doing now is as a result of the attempts to stop her doing everything else.

YES

And they are still trying to stop her.

And while there's lots of bleating about "if women would shut up and surrender to being abused naicely misogynists wouldn't have to turn into a violent, mindless mob of toddlers and hurt them"

no one shouting that has ever reflected that perhaps if the activist movement had been able to think of women as equally human and equality and inclusion being female-too values, and been able to listen to and have compassion for the sex that men were insisting they had joined?

Women wouldn't need to say these things. And they wouldn't now have to be increasingly loud and blunt to be heard.

Thedarkestblue · 26/03/2023 14:05

Name one. Name a way that multiple women, who don't know each other, could arrange to gather in person to have a conversation about this aspect of women's rights without having to deal with violence and intimidation from a mob of angry people who don't want that conversation to happen?

Cast your mind back to 2018, and Posie was trying another approach - indoor speaking events - such as this one at the Jam Jar in Bristol, featuring

And guess what? A mob of crazed activists turned up ranting about Nazis - covered here by a Channel 4 documentary crew for Stella O'Malley's "Trans Kids: It's Time to Talk".

As a man, I view Posie as totally invaluable in this fight. While the likes of Helen Joyce crunches the data and provides the sober analysis, and Kath Stock brings academic heft and philisophical insights, and online poets like Eliza Mondegreen find such striking language to highlight the insanity, and the various sites like Reduxx just provide in stark detail the toxic phenomenon made flesh, and the American sisters like Abigail Shrier and Kara Dansky plough their furrow, etc etc...Posie is just taking all of this on the road, doubling down, clarifying and freely expressing, and providing a platform for all women to express, that the female sex class is off limits to the male sex class.
A totally simple concept, understandable to a 5 year old innocent and straightforward toddler, let alone a 55 year old transmaiden or autogynephile.
And while this simple core message is wilfully conflated with BS like Posie associates w Nazis, Posie is an Islamaphobe, Posie is a grifter taking your cash and spending it on lavish lunches and spa sessions, Posie is a foul-mouthed Tommy Robinson-style agent provocateur...she's getting on with putting herself on the line, shining a beacon on the TRAs, and planting acorns amongst the millions of women who will see this torrent of anti women vitriol, and really question which side they belong to.
So while WPUK and the likes of Dr. Jane Clare Jones view her as dirty rubbish to not associate with, Posie is getting out there, putting the hard yards in. And as we've seen in Auckland, those yards are REALLY hard.
Posie? Total hero.

Is it time for us to march yet? Must be soon.

DialSquare · 26/03/2023 12:21

She is amazing. This will have the opposite effect that the TRAs were going for. This will only empower her more. And many more to follow her.

Jonei · 26/03/2023 12:19

KJK is an absolute hero. Amazing, strong and very brave woman.

I live in Auckland. Well, we call it Tamaki Makaurau. We had a big event planned for yesterday in the central city. We had to factor in the protests plus some other stuff, ferry cancellations and so on.

My only disappointment around the Posie Parker thing is that anyone gave her any attention. The arrogance is mind blowing. Steps off a plane and imagines that the women of Aotearoa are in thrall to her. They're not. She is a hate fueller, a Murdoch-styled headline generator, the irl of clickbait. Cheap and nasty.

If she gave a shiny shit about any of us, she would spend time and try to read the room. We are still cleaning up after two catastrophic weather events. Our police force, weirdly enough, is not very impressed with a visitor making excessive demands because she feels she knows how better to New Zealand than the people of the land itself. They had actual stuff to do.

If she genuinely wanted a conversation, there are plenty of ways to go about it. 100 percent bs she wanted to speak and let others speak. She wanted chaos. She wanted headlines. She phones ahead asking for police protection knowing full well she would be rarking up vulnerable communities.

She chooses a very open and public space. She enlists the support of the grotesque Brian Tamaki, the rent-a-supremacist. Whose yobs mowed down the co-leader of the Green Party and failed to stop.

Are we impressed? We are so glad she's gone. Look, if you've got shit to sort out in the UK, maybe focus on that. We know our own people, we know our communities, your shit is not ours. When oh when are the British going to wake up to exactly how ARROGANT they appear. Honestly, the whole thing is cringe.
We did enjoy the tomato sauce though.

You know your own people? I'm not so sure. Quoting:

Children should not be taught that their gender can be changed, according to a poll commissioned by Family First.

The poll of 1000 people found 54 per cent did not believe that children should be taught that their gender can be changed through surgery and hormone treatment, compared with 35 per cent who thought they should be taught, and 11 per cent who were unsure.

The poll also found 46 per cent of people believe toilets and changing rooms should be based on biological sex, compared to 36 per cent who believe they should be based on gender identity. The other 18 per cent were unsure.

When it came to children playing in sports team based on biological sex or gender identity, people were evenly divided on 39 per cent and 22 per cent were unsure.

A poll for Family First has found people do not want gender identity teaching in schools.

Keep gender identity issues out of the classroom, says poll

People are evenly divided on gender identity/biological sex in child sports teams.

You seem to misunderstand. KJK does not come to speak but to provide a space and platform where the women and girls in NZ can speak about a subject they feel silenced on.

If that mob you are defending had let the event go ahead you would have realised that. If you and the mob you are defending have actually listened to the women who would have spoken, you might have realised that we, and our opinions, are not what that mob thinks they are.

Its your own citizens that have been silenced. Not KJK.

TheCentreSlide · 26/03/2023 12:11

Fucking hell. So someone campaigning against injustice should be super polite and play small because men want her to shut the fuck up?

And she does try many different ways to advance the conversation. She is a legend.

Stop trying to silence women.

Stop trying to pressurise women into allowing men to invade women-only spaces.

Stop advocating for rape culture.

VitaminX · 26/03/2023 12:03

We know that gatherings in public outdoor spaces are targeted, we know that open events in booked function rooms etc are targeted, we know that women will be thrown out of pubs...

Sorry but what are these plenty of ways that women are able to speak and politically organise around these issues without being physically intimidated by angry men? Maybe we just have to find a woman with a really big kitchen or sitting room, is that it?

FrostyFifi · 26/03/2023 11:52

@onetimelemon do you have any comment on the large group physically attacking and beating an elderly woman btw? Just curious. I can provide the video if you'd like to see it.

WomanXXWorldsOriginsofMothersofAllNations · 26/03/2023 11:51

I am so glad I went to KJKs Adelaide event - it was awesome to meet her, and tell her ‘thanks’ in person. I was nervous and nothing even happened. Adelaide police handled the protesters well.

After the last few days, seeing all the footage, and knowing that she knows what she’s walking into, the fact she still does, floors me. The bravery and absolute determination to put women and children front and centre every time.

It’s possible that the anti-women hate mob ‘rainbow terrorists’ have scored an own goal as most of the world looks on horrified.

In my personal life, I know several TWAW types who are now backtracking from this and finally understanding what KJK is protesting against.

For me, any woman who is facing down and speaking up against the woman-hate under their own name is a Queen.
