Let’s move the general discussion about the New Zealand ‘Let Women Speak’ tour out of the thread set up to centre the women speaking at the Australian and New Zealand tours.

This was the live feed.

https://www.youtube.com/live/eDuy2Kx2HlI?feature=share

The event was over run by violent trans activists. Not only did they use the usual intimidation tactics, but also threw substances at Kellie Jay, the women and the security.

I hope so Datun but the DM has labelled her a 'trans critic' this morning so the spin has begun.

They are usually much better on this too.

That's the Australian Daily Mail.

The reporting of this will be so skewed that many will think that KJK is indeed a fascist and that the rainbow mafia are in the right. I don't think it will make much difference to the situation. I wish that was not the case.

It won't be reported like that here. We have quite strong defamation laws.

Footage of a very proud person celebrating the silencing of women through violence.

Thanks for making it easy to identify who supports VAWAG

One can report crime to NZ Police, there's an option to do so anonymously.

What they instigated…

Yes. It's from the top down.

I suspect in the next few weeks as the journalists across the world start writing reflection on all this, and the letters and reactions come in from the electorate, the governments of Australia and NZ and the police leaders are going to come to bitterly regret what they enabled.

I hope so. And if they don't, I hope they get forced to.

Because that's another bloody question I would ask our politicians - look at this footage. Do you agree with us that's it's a disgusting display of misogyny? Against one of your citizens.

Clymene · 25/03/2023 10:50

These are the same men who stone women to death.
They are the same men who gang rape and sexually assault.
They are the same men who kill women for not wearing hijab.

They are all the same men.

And the women who are silent, who do not condemn, who say she deserves it, are handing them the stones, providing the alibis, washing their bloody clothes.

Whaeanui · 25/03/2023 10:49

how will they explain it? they’ve blamed a religious dude who seems to protest a lot and is easy for them to push the blame on

twitterexile · 25/03/2023 10:49

nilsmousehammer · 25/03/2023 10:48

Makes you wonder if the SNP will only be the first in a line of tumbling political careers with the whole 'kill women who want equality and say no to being raped' thing.

Clymene · 25/03/2023 10:48

Helleofabore · 25/03/2023 10:38

It's absolutely assault.

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 25/03/2023 10:47

the follow on from this is going to be fascinating

we very clearly see a bunch of men behaving like animals, whipped up into a fury by women asserting the right to express opinions they don't like

I wonder what the UK political class will see?
the NZ political class?
the UK mainstream media and the NZ version?

if they don't see the violence, intolerance and misogyny, how will they explain it?

Someone on twitter said that it’s more like what you see happening to women in Iran, I can’t believe that the policing was so weak and ineffective.

Quite.

Hand this lot canes and scolds bridles and they'd be highly enthusiastic about enacting exactly the kind of historic abuse and oppression of women that you'd think 'social justice warriors' full of 'love' and 'kindness' would have a problem with.

However the next time a bloke tries the racist line on me that 'we don't LIVE in the third world so women don't need the protections women are fighting for there' (subtext: because I think white men in wealthy countries are better than other kinds of men who are Others) I will have evidence to demonstrate that there is no 'othering'.

Any bloke, in any country, of any colour, can be a violent, misogynist thug.

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 25/03/2023 10:43

well that's a load of mealy mouthed disingenuous bollocks

you just start thinking 'OK, this seems reasonable', and then you get to tweet 12

However, the presence of neo-Nazis at women’s rights events is a wake-up call to the need for explicit differentiation between women organising in defence of our rights and those far-right actors who seek to exploit this organising

how to say what you mean without saying what you mean. posted on 18 March.

Anyway. women's place are not responsible for the behaviour of the men in new zealand. but they are down right poisonous and unsisterly. I think I'm done with them

Walkingtheplank · 25/03/2023 10:42

Ah yes, more important to be left wing than actually want to protect women's and children's rights.

I recall having a heated debate on social media with a very well known, intelligent feminist who I greatly admire and who is impressively articulate - she told me that I could not be a feminist because I am not left wing.

Walkingtheplank · 25/03/2023 10:31

Who are the jealous women and groups that KJK is referring to?
I'm not totally clueless on this but I dont have a comprehensive list.

There is a Facebook group called Actual Gender Critical Left that if you haven’t visited may provide you with the answers.

Also the Brighton Feminist website with their sin page of Kellie Jay Keen .

Those two groups have overlap with senior people in WPUK.

Now is the time for the UK government to show how much they value women's rights.

As I say to media when I complain, what she’s advocating for, is the law in the UK. So NZ and its actual prime minister thinks that campaigning about existing uk laws is hateful and anti trans. Why won’t someone in the uk government respond to that?

Posie is a British citizen and I fully expect the British consulate in NZ or someone in the UK govt here to comment on what has happened.

Yes. It's exactly the sort of thing that should go right up the food chain. And I hope she tries to force it. I would donate my fucking arse off.

She's abiding by laws their and regulations and, ostensibly, holding a completely legal rally to let women speak. And she has been violently and relentlessly attacked for doing so, as have the women showing up.

And men proudly bragging of how it's such a turn on.

I hope those posts, pictures, and revolting statements go round the world, and people see it all backed up by the politicians.

She's a genuinely brave woman.

Ugh. The woman hate is fucking depressing.

I bloody hope she runs for office. I really, really do.
