Sorry if there's already a thread - apparently this nightmarish-sounding company offering a hellish-sounding job don't want the likes of FWR posters to apply. Also they don't seem to understand discrimination law.

I think I might become a life coach who specialises in coaching people in how to avoid being suckered in by exploitative life coaches.
Think there's a market for it.

Annaissleeping · 18/03/2023 19:41

This has made my day! It's that ridiculous.

There is a push in some life coaching circles to drastically up your prices to these levels, according to the Youtube ads that I see sometimes. I think the idea is to have 2-10 clients and rake it in and then move onto selling an online course on how to make a fortune as a life coach. That course then brings in an additional few hundred thousand per year and you can work remotely from a nice beach. You can maybe get away with it if you have a huge amount of skill and natural charisma and a really large following on Twitter or TikTok but this woman is just making me laugh.

(I'm not a life coach btw, just vaguely interested in the scams in that industry having had a vulnerable relative who've trained as one)

Spudlover · 18/03/2023 19:40

I can’t fathom thinking this kind of advert is OK. Surely even the most inexperienced team member can see its discriminatory.

This kind of publicity may come back to bite her. Her target audience is women but this shows precisely what she thinks of us.

On a side note. I know a life coach. She has cheated in every relationship she’s ever had, has a series of dead end jobs she keeps being let go from, and is generally a total flake. I’m sure there are good ones out there but any old crackpot can market themselves as one.

nepeta · 18/03/2023 19:39

On top of everything that has been discussed here I noted how you can all be for EDI (which I always confuse with IED...) and yet be so extremely classist to put up an enormous demands list in exchange of a tiny payment and the expectation that the person is a contractor and available for messages 24/7.

We should get back some of the old-time class politics, too, or at least admit that this new stuff still privileges the wealthier people.

raspberrywine · 18/03/2023 19:27

Who's Beks then? How does Beks fit into the business?

What a load sanctimonious drivel. She sounds like the kind of person that would not, could not take pushback or criticism. As soon as you said "no" you'd lose your contract.

FrancescaContini · 18/03/2023 19:09

20k for approximately 24 weeks??

That’s £833 per week 😳 Deluded.

I’m not impressed by someone who claims to be some kind of expert but who uses vague and immature language such as “get your shit together” and “it’s so f* hard”.

They seem to want a lot from the applicant, especially since they expect weekend work too.

This is a contractor role, working approximately 30 hours per month

"Contractor role". So, on top of everything else, they want to ensure that the glass half full lifestyle assistant has no job security or benefits. Yet this role's not for you if you "Want to be an entrepreneur and run your own business."

Here's a clue, Maisie: if you're a self-employed contractor then you're already running your own business.

Guess her knowledge of employment law is no more robust than her knowledge of biology.

EpicChaos · 18/03/2023 19:02

" Life coach "?
Did she do her training at the same place as our dear friend Jeffrey, by any chance? :-/

nilsmousehammer · 18/03/2023 18:54

I was about to predict 'life coach' on this CV in the near future, but I see we're already there....

bellac11 · 18/03/2023 18:54

People with depresision and anxiety might present as glass half empty, so someone with that personality/illness may be put off applying as well

Mind you can you imagine the toxicity working somewhere like that, it would make you have a breakdown probably

Theeyeballsinthesky · 18/03/2023 18:27

That’s why I could never work there @QuintanaRoo i find it so hard not to leave random bits of me behind 😆

I left my small intestine in the car the other day. Caused no end of problems at work. I'd have gone back to get it but I just couldn't stomach it. 😁

FrancescaContini · 18/03/2023 18:52

“We bring our whole selves to work” 🚩

DottyDalmation · 18/03/2023 18:51

I like that it’s made the telegraph.

I’d be shocked if this advert didn't break the equality act 2010

EpicChaos · 18/03/2023 18:46

" Are a glass half-empty person. We don’t expect you to be happy all the time, but we like to have a laugh and so do our clients, so having a sense of humour is important. "

WoW!
Tra's have a sense of humour? I never knew that. Would never even have suspected it in a million years, to be fair!
I'm truly in shock.

Such a strange case. A woman, who ironically is being quite assertive in her financial worth, something we woman are often not, but only to other women, in a woman’s only issue, periods, does not want women who believe in biology to apply for a job with her?

Maybe she's looking for a woman+ model? You know, the ones who are soooo much better at womaning than us mere females?

Oh, no, can't be - they're not exactly known for being unassertive, humble and obedient (as it takes confidence, self advocacy and being prepared to ignore society's 'rules' to transition in the first place). More likely some timid little thing that'll take all the shit for fuck all money. Which means young, as of course, they wouldn't be able to truly trust an older woman who might be lying. Would likely be quite happy with somebody who ticks non binary.

Might as well have said 'NO MIDDLEAGED FEMALES NEED APPLY', really.

OnTheThames · 18/03/2023 18:41

She actually calls herself an all round fantastic person? That’s hilarious. She’s incredibly humble, too, I bet.

RumandSpinach · 18/03/2023 18:41

I'm not gender critical but read out of curiosity.

Maisie sounds like such an appalling narcissist. Incredible to expect help in her personal life but expect to employ someone entirely self-sufficient who doesn't need feedback and doesn't have off days.

LemonJuiceFromConcentrate · 18/03/2023 18:39

Thirty hours a month, eh? Delusional

CandidaAlbicans2 · 18/03/2023 18:35

She's asking £20K for weekly life coaching for 6 months?! With just a "diploma"?! I notice she hasn't said what level diploma, but judging by her other qualifications it'll be a load of woo bollocks anyway 🙄

And of course she's now studying "nutritional therapy" at a "Naturopathic Medicine" college, rather than going to uni and studying an Association for Nutrition approved BSc in nutrition, or studying dietetics.

Love how she says "I’m an all round fantastic person" on her website, when my thoughts are tedious, self-indulgent, navel-gazing, cliched, middle-class, twat"

bellac11 · 18/03/2023 18:31

Why did the previous person in the role leave?

mcduffy · 18/03/2023 18:30

I read the application form earlier this week for a laugh. There was something about getting excited about voice notes?
What a wanker

Theeyeballsinthesky · 18/03/2023 18:27

Just been reading about maisie 🤪🤪 god save us from social entrepreneurs with vanity “businesses”

QuintanaRoo · 18/03/2023 18:24

We are a close team and we bring our whole selves to work. 🤣
