Meet the new progressiveism. A muslim woman being hounded and bullied for criticising a white man.

This is disgusting. I hope she and her family are going to be ok.

And there are people on here who do not understand how basic fact checking works.

That's right; you don't understand how that works either, do you?

Apologies. I did say the list wasn't exhaustive.

Do you not understand what a serious safeguarding red flag that is?

I think there are many things this particular poster doesn't understand:

safeguarding
grooming
red flags
victim blaming
what a victim is
violence against women and children
women and children
what this particular video is about
how youtube works
how social media works
how personal responsibility works

The list goes on...

Deny, Attack, Reverse Victim and Offender

SquidwardBound · 13/03/2023 15:20

You don't think her choosing to stitch a video that JM made about trans people to accuse him of grooming wouldn't then create a massive pile on that all trans people are sexual predators?

Surely the trans activist community should be at the forefront of challenging grooming behaviour like this. Instead they are defending him and making excuses for/justifying the behaviour.

if you have a problem with people confusing your community with sexual predators, then you do not set out to justify behaviour like Marsh’s and villainise anyone who criticises it. That isn’t going to help external people to understand that there’s no inherent relationship between creepy predators and trans people. It’s telling them clearly that you think it’s fine for an influential trans person to encourage children to speak to an adult stranger on the internet more privately.

The behaviour is not ok. It is really worrying that TRAs can’t recognise that and aren’t willing to challenge Marsh themselves.

RichardBarrister · 13/03/2023 15:17

Can you please link me to a video of theirs where this is stated? I have only seen videos from their adult focused Patreon that encourages that.

I saw the video where he described his Patreon and it was aimed at kids. So they could talk to him privately. It was only subsequently that he made it 18+

All of the content in the JM video she stitched was his own words. The meaning of his own words was not changed, she just highlighted one particular aspect. It was a true representation of things he has said.

She did not mention ‘all trans people’ at any point, she was highlighting his extremely concerning behaviour. I’m not sure why you are so focused on criticising the messenger rather than the man trying to convince kids to contact him in private. Do you not understand what a serious safeguarding red flag that is?

His patreon wasnt aimed at children.

She could have just made a video about her safeguarding concerns. She didnt. She chose to stitch a video discussing trans people.

Seasonofthewitch83 · 13/03/2023 15:13

No - but she chose to stitch a video about trans people and grooming. Why?

I thought the video was about JM and his predatory behaviour. Why shouldn't she do that? It seems like it needs to be done.

BordoisAgain · 13/03/2023 15:16

Seasonofthewitch83 · 13/03/2023 15:12

Sounds like victim blaming to me.

Well, yes 🤷🏼‍♀️

Jeffrey is the innocent victim in all this. A bloke can't even persuade kids to disown their own families and be loved by him instead without being accused of something these days.

What is the world coming to?

beastlyslumber · 13/03/2023 15:16

Seasonofthewitch83 · 13/03/2023 15:12

Sounds like victim blaming to me.

No, it's correctly perceiving a creepy groomer for what he is.

Victim blaming would be if someone called him out for being a creepy groomer and was victimised for that, then you said it was her own fault for calling him out in the first place.

HTH

JustHereWithMyPopcorn · 13/03/2023 15:15

The Marsh stuff has been there for years, it has always been creepy and inappropriate. So many of us have been commenting on his videos for a very long time. Since accounts with large follower numbers started challenging his video content he removed a lot of them and changed his Patreon. Now there is active targeting of one person who has 'exposed' him - she's a muslim women i.e. someone they think will be an easy target - and are trying to start all sorts of rumours about HER being a groomer and inappropriate. It's disgusting but 100% predictable. This rabid TRAs think they are beyond reproach and its a bloody dangerous game.

Seasonofthewitch83 · 13/03/2023 15:13

No - but she chose to stitch a video about trans people and grooming. Why?

Well because this trans person is acting in a groomy way!

According to you, it should never be called out. Ever. Why is that?

lifeturnsonadime · 13/03/2023 15:14

Seasonofthewitch83 · 13/03/2023 15:12

Sounds like victim blaming to me.

How so? How is JM the victim? He chooses to act in a way which make people think he's a predator.

As far as I know no one has damaged his car or threatened his kids.

Seasonofthewitch83 · 13/03/2023 15:13

lifeturnsonadime · 13/03/2023 15:12

So can I get this straight?

You seem to be saying that no one can ever point out predatory behaviour in a trans identifying person because it will make people believe ALL trans people are predatory?

Well talk about creating a sacred caste! If non one can EVEN mention it, then of course predators will take advantage.

And where's your evidence that this is true? Not one person on this thread has posted anything remotely along the lines that all trans people are predators. People don't think that.

No - but she chose to stitch a video about trans people and grooming. Why?

SquidwardBound · 13/03/2023 15:13

This ‘I’m allowed it without repercussions’ stuff is so disingenuous. Like all your posts @Seasonofthewitch83.

You seem to be mistaking disagreement or challenge to your opinions with ‘repercussions’ (like having you car vandalised and your children threatened).

No one will harm you. But people may disagree and challenge you. That’s totally fine and is not harmful. It’s debate and discussion.

This idea that challenge and debate is (literal!) harm is enormously problematic. Even more so when the person on the thread keen on promoting that is making excuses for harmful behaviour and people actually threatening harm to a woman and her family.

Seasonofthewitch83 · 13/03/2023 15:12

BordoisAgain · 13/03/2023 15:12

Well exactly.

If Jeffrey Marsh doesn't want to be perceived as a creepy groomer then maybe he should stop acting like a creepy groomer 🤷🏼‍♀️

Sounds like victim blaming to me.

lifeturnsonadime · 13/03/2023 14:55

Well the same could be said for the JM account couldn't it.

You would think the fact that his account is perceived by so many to amount to grooming would have an impact on his tone and words.

What is he trying to achieve if not to break bonds between parent and child?

Well exactly.

If Jeffrey Marsh doesn't want to be perceived as a creepy groomer then maybe he should stop acting like a creepy groomer 🤷🏼‍♀️

Ereshkigalangcleg · 13/03/2023 15:11

Does this apply to everyone? Is it also justified for trans activists to face "repercussions" if people don't like their videos?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 13/03/2023 15:08

Victim blaming nonsense.

Seasonofthewitch83 · 13/03/2023 15:03

DerekFaker · 13/03/2023 14:58

What then? What does realising her words have impact entail? What does it even mean?

You don't think her choosing to stitch a video that JM made about trans people to accuse him of grooming wouldn't then create a massive pile on that all trans people are sexual predators?

She made the video for clicks and likes. Its now bit her firmly in the backside. I don't think she was really on any kind of crusade to help safeguard children given she herself had a website that encouraged children to send in selfies.

Does she deserve it? No - as above stated several times. She absolutely has a right to voice her opinion without any threats of violence or silencing, especially to her family. But this is the issue when people are allowed to post whatever they want on the internet. Sometimes its not going to go the way they thought. This one didnt.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 13/03/2023 15:01

The blame for stalking, threatening and abusing someone lies with the person stalking, threatening and abusing. Not the victim. No matter how many followers they have on social media.

This.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 13/03/2023 15:00

Can you please link me to a video of theirs where this is stated?

You called Marsh "he" earlier. Do better!

Datun · 13/03/2023 14:59

Seasonofthewitch83 · 13/03/2023 13:51

I think some of their videos are fine tbh. Talking about why sex isnt all its cracked up to be is a good lesson. I don't think there are children seeking out JM material to listen about sex. They can do that for free on Twitter and watch Stephen Bear being rimmed. I think there are worse things on the internet, and its quite a leap to say he encourages children to go no contact with their parents (because only social services can enable that?). From what I can see, that material is aimed at adults, not children.

But that is just my opinion, and according to the above posts, I am allowed it without fear of repercussions.

And there you have it. You are stating that you don't see any problem with it. All the problems. The safeguarding breaches. You're stating that you're fine with those, in spite of them being pointed out to you, quite explicitly.

it's just justifies the need for more and more women to point it out. So that schools do end up writing to their parents, and papers will end up with double spreads publicising it.
