Meet the new progressiveism. A muslim woman being hounded and bullied for criticising a white man.

This is disgusting. I hope she and her family are going to be ok.

The gaslighting where TRAs pretend that any criticism of the behaviour of a trans or NB person is automatically ‘transphobic’ is so problematic.

Unless you believe that encouraging vulnerable children to separate themselves from their families and inviting them to talk more privately with you online is somehow an intrinsic aspect of being trans, then I don’t see how complaining about that kid of behaviour - whoever is doing it - could be transphobic.

In the same way that prosecuting a trans person for tax evasion is not transphobic. It’s just an example where someone who happens to be trans has done something wrong. There’s no connection between being trans and tax evasion.

In fact, I actually think it should be considered transphobic to not criticise this behaviour. Surely viewing this kind of creepy, grooming like behaviour as somehow part of being trans is the transphobic position. Criticising the dodgy behaviour is not transphobic in the least.

SquidwardBound · 13/03/2023 13:09

I just read through the Reduxx article.

It is SO depressing. Woman says something critical and specific about the obviously problematic behaviour of a NB man who is making loads of money out of this stuff. TRAs claim it’s literal violence and trans people will die as a result. Even more extreme TRAs vandalise woman’s car and threaten her children in sinister ways.

And we also get TRAs on the thread pretending not to understand, trying to gaslight readers into believing the evidence doesn’t exist and then outright victim blaming.

Why does anyone believes this movement is defined by ‘kindness’?

Much though we might dislike the police advice to her to take down her videos, they will be focusing on harm prevention and that is an obvious step. His are presumably hosted from the US, and UK police forces have no jurisdiction over internet content there.

It's appalling that she should have to, but it's sensible advice from the police. Who are the non-captured big name comedians? I can only think of Ricky Gervais in the UK.

They have jurisdiction over the people who have vandalised her car and stalked her in order to find out which school her children go to and what time they leave in the
morning.

Marsh is obviously in damage limitation mode, given all the deleted videos and school warnings to parents about him. The Spotlight is glaring, which might curtail his activities. At least the public ones.

But those who are threatening her family and vandalising her property still need to be brought to justice.

Datun · 13/03/2023 13:04

Did you watch that video even? Because I did. It discussed how 'uncomfortable' Marsh was with sex with Marsh's husband at first, but then Marsh learned to 'relax' and enjoy, it if I remember correctly. Available to children.

Dear God. A middle-aged man encouraging children to contact him off grid, and not speak to their parents is also telling them how uncomfortable sex is unless they persevere.

Shumirun must protect herself from men who are terrified of the exposure she has instigated. I will contribute financially to help her do that.

But it was just a question of time.

Schools have sent letters out to all their parents warning them to keep their children away from Jefffrey Marsh videos. Are they being threatened? Are the head teachers being threatened?

Are the police telling the schools to stop writing to their parents?

Or are they only going to tell the schools to stop protecting their children, once the threats roll in ???

Ohyoudodoyou · 13/03/2023 13:00

How did we get to this point where a young family have actually had people
Going to their home, damaging their property and making such threats?
Twitter and TikTok are fetid arenas a- the TRAs are saying that Trans people
Are at risk of harm yet here you have the possibility that people (probably men) have carried their threats much further than simply harassing women on line.
Frankly, this is terrifying for her, but I bet if you met the little dickheads in a vape shop you'd be embarrassed for them.

Is it though? Or is it 'groomerphobic'?

Why are trans people not calling this guy out?

Answers on a postcard...you'll get deleted if you reply here.

Perhaps because if a trans person called Marsh out, or called out the threats, they too would be responsible for the threatening behaviour that would come their way if we take some people's approach to it.

happydappy2 · 13/03/2023 12:53

What can we do to help & support Shumirun? She is the victim here.

So, Shumirun is responsible for any resprehensible behaviour? Doesn't matter if it's by people attacking her or defending her, it's all her fault!

Apparently some tra has set up a Change petition, supporting Jeffrey and attacking Shumirun. I expect that's her fault as well. It might get taken down, probably her fault.

I didnt say she had been transphobic - I said her comment sections are.

Yet, you somehow have worded your posts for that to be her responsibility.

So, please point out the transphobic comments that she is responsible for?

Helleofabore · 13/03/2023 12:45

Seasonofthewitch83 · 13/03/2023 12:37

I dont know if she is transphobic- I think she has accidentally whipped up an absolute shitstorm of hate on a fucking video app.

Does she deserve the threats? Fuck no - hope she goes to the police. The threats are horrifying and she needs to be kept safe.

Does she have a right to raise concerns about safeguarding? Absolutely! Although scrolling Tik Tok now I can also see she herself asked children to send in selfies for her gaming website. So she's now getting shit for that too.

That's the thing about the internet - things cannot be controlled. You take a risk every time you post to an audience.

Oh. That is a bit of a pivot then.

She doesn't actually 'deserve' the threats for pointing out that an adult male has been positioning themself as a 'family' substitute for some time now and their patreon was open to under 18s and had a video discussing sex with that male's husband.

Did you watch that video even? Because I did. It discussed how 'uncomfortable' Marsh was with sex with Marsh's husband at first, but then Marsh learned to 'relax' and enjoy, it if I remember correctly. Available to children.

rockingbird · 13/03/2023 12:42

Ok I'll be honest and say I've never heard of this man.. I've just found the account on TikTok - smashing teeth but wtaf 🤷🏼‍♀️ the world has gone mad!!

FuckNuggets · 13/03/2023 12:41

There is a lot of transphobic hatred she has also managed to whip up - her comment section is horrific.

@Seasonofthewitch83

There's no such thing as transphobia.

"Yea, I stand by it. She has 7M people following her. With that comes responsibility. There is a lot of transphobic hatred she has also managed to whip up - her comment section is horrific."

Please point out where she has been transphobic?

Or, are you going to accuse her of being again responsible for people who really have written transphobic (and not just by some loose definition of the term) comments AS WELL AS it being her fault for being threatened by people who simply have no understanding of tolerance and have been supported by people who tell them that their actions are understandable and even brave?

I didnt say she had been transphobic - I said her comment sections are.

perhaps this is a lesson for many on the power that social media can hold. She has an audience of 7M followers and she has managed to accidentally whip up a wave of hatred on both sides. If that was me, I would delete the app. Not worth it.

Aye, women should just shut up when they see a risk to children, lest they 'whip up a wave of hatred'. Best say nothing like a good girl, eh?

Remarkable isn't it.

When you see the tactics, you can not unsee them.

Seasonofthewitch83 · 13/03/2023 12:32

Helleofabore · 13/03/2023 12:30

Fuck!

Did you think before you wrote this?

So, she should just ignore talking about something that is a major concern to her because some people have no impulse control AND have been led to believe that they are righteous in threatening people as we saw during Allison Bailey's court case and the testimony from people who believe it is 'understandable' that people resort to such tactics.

Let's see, do you also agree with women who wish to meet to discuss their issues being intimidated by extreme trans activists too?

What else do you dismiss as being women's faults for having opinions you disagree with?

Yea, I stand by it. She has 7M people following her. With that comes responsibility. There is a lot of transphobic hatred she has also managed to whip up - her comment section is horrific.

Not victim blaming at all - just pointing out how easy it is to build up a following on social media these days with absolutely no experience, no support from management or even a PR company, and accidentally stick your foot in it and bring shit to your doorstep.

No. The entire fault is people who choose to threaten and intimidate others for expressing views that the threatener finds they unable to cope with hearing.

YourLocalTERF · 13/03/2023 12:31

Have people tweeted Ricky Gervais, Andrew Doyle, Leo Kearse etc? They would probably support her?
