Quite interesting to hear what people think and how incredibly confused they are.

I agreed with a lot of what the first person said actually. There are 2 sexes and multiple genders/personalities. Transitioning is a process and TW are at risk (amongst others) in male prisons. (Don't jump me cos I obviously don't believe female prisons are the solution).

What was heart breaking was that this confident, fluent, compassionate person wants surgeries to change their body because they don't think females can behave in any way but stereotypically feminine. How have our children got to this hugely sexist place? Fuck you stonewall et al. Blood on your hands.

I only pray the scales fall from their eyes sooner rather than later.

I felt the way he began bun referring to two genders was a confusing way to start the conversations, though he would go on to be clearer about sex at a later point.

It seemed for all but the last girl, and the boy with curly hair, that transwomen are so special that by comparison ordinary women more or less don’t matter and do not even merit a second thought. They did seem to be wary of saying the wrong thing to the extent that there were moments where they seemed to be trying not to think in case logic gave them the ‘wrong’ answer.

They are evidently ignorant about what some men who identify as trans in the prison system have been convicted of.

I bailed at fluffy coat non binary like like like.

Considering this is the age group that should understand this stuff inside out, they are very confused. (Or know exactly what they think but are scared of being outed for wrong think). This is the lot that are going to be running the country in not too many years. Such fun!

Gagagardener · 27/02/2023 22:58

If these students at represent the country's brightest and best, God help us all!

Wellies54 · 27/02/2023 22:06

It's also striking how embarrassed and hesitant they all are. Not one of them sounds sure of what they're saying and they are all constantly umming and ahhing and wondering if they are saying the 'correct' thing, not what they actually think.

There's one inescapable conclusion from these interviews. Someone (teachers, academics, activists?) have done a hell of a job on these kids to brainwash them into their fantasy world.

beastlyslumber · 27/02/2023 21:09

I do think the interviewer seeks out and showcases the most cringe people! Although he did show that last woman who clearly had some sense. So maybe they really all are that inane.

Not sure if I can watch this as the cognitive dissonance as described above will make me feel 😩

WomaninBoots · 27/02/2023 21:05

I'm not sure I can watch that. I might cringe myself into some kind of knot of limbs I can't untangle. It sounds incredibly embarrassing for them.

I don't understand how they can all say such idiotic things without realising it makes no sense.

The first one says there are feminine and masculine traits in psychology. What does that even mean? Are they referring to sexist out of date bullshit that men are "courageous and brave and assertive" and women "soft and kind and passive"? And if not old sexism then what?

Then she says depending on where they are in the transition men claiming to be women should be either in a male or female prison. How does that make sense? where is the line?

The second one says if a woman thinks she's a man she should go in the men's prison. There is a reason why nowhere are they doing this even when they put men in women's prisons.

The third guy agrees sex and gender are different but then says men should be in women's prisons because it needs to be taken into account how they are treated. What about the women who get stuck with a bloke in prison? What about how they are treated? No mention.

The fourth one eventually ends up in "case by case" and women are who identifies as such. So they say women should be in men's prisons?

Fluff coat starts with intersex people and the myth there are as many of them as people with red hair or the whole population of Russia 🙄. Then comes with the "other cultures have more genders" and starts with two spirit, a term invented in the 90's. Then there is the big brain moment saying people who say women in prison are in danger when you put a big violent bloke in there with them are "ignorant and don't know what goes on"

The last girl is the smartest of the lot but she is so scared to talk about it but eventually she can say men should go in men's prisons. This poor girl should not be so stressed to say the truth.
