Just when you think you've seen it all. Apparently the Department for Education has been contacted for comment:

Drag queen ‘teaches 11-year-olds about anal sex and tells them there are 73 genders’

www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2023/02/27/drag-queen-teaches-11-year-olds-anal-sex-tells-73-genders/

"Sex education has been suspended in Isle of Man schools after a drag queen allegedly told 11-year-olds that there are 73 genders.
The Isle of Man government has launched an independent review of its personal, social, health and economic (PSHE) curriculum after parents raised the alarmm_ about the “graphic, disproportionate, indecent presentation” of sexual acts and different gender identities understood to have been taught in lessons.
Parents of pupils at Queen Elizabeth II High School in Peel, on the Isle of Man, have reported that Year 7 pupils were taught by a drag queenn_ who told them there are 73 genders.
When one “upset” child responded and said “there’s only two”, the drag queen allegedly responded “you’ve upset me” and made the pupil leave the class.
Some 11-year-olds at the school were taught about oral and anal sex, while another group learned about sex change operations and were shown how skin graft taken from a girl’s arm could be used on an artificial penis, according to reports.
“A lot of children are just too traumatised to even talk to their parents," Eliza Cox, vice-chairman of Marown Commissioners, told Energy FM Isle of Man. “As a parent, you don’t know what children are being taught.”
She said that one teacher on the island had told her she had to teach a group of boys and girls in Years 7 and 8 how to masturbate. Another teacher was said to be so uncomfortable with the content of the PSHE curriculum that they told pupils: “Please don’t listen to me” while they taught the lesson."

Sorry, but surely the adult (whether it was a teacher or a drag queen) who was teaching children how to masturbate has committed a crime? This must surely fall under child abuse and grooming?

You simply consider the 'Bus Stop Test' - it's so easy. Basically, if you got chatting to a parent with a child at a bus stop and engaged with the child about any topic, how would the parent react?

If the answer is 'absolutely horrified, screaming, pulling their child away from you and grabbing their phone to call 999', there's a bit of a clue in that.

Instead of only relying on adults passing DBS checks every few years to adjudge them suitable of looking after/teaching/setting curricula for children, we also need to monitor them as an ongoing process, and not being afraid to report back.

Rather than saying "X has a clear DBS check, so s/he is fine to teach children how to masturbate", we need to be gathering the people who DO care about children's wellbeing together and saying "X is wanting to teach children how to masturbate, which means that - whatever his/her current DBS certificate says - s/he is very, very smack-you-in-the-face-with-a-wet-kipper-clearly NOT suitable to be anywhere near children.

Maybe you don't like drag, but if you amplify these stories uncritically you are being a useful idiot for deeply unpleasant people

Deeply unpleasant people are on both sides of the argument, and plenty of people are useful idiots for the other side too. Don't fall into the trap of believing all media you agree with can be trusted while everything else is lies. That's your confirmation bias talking.

Echobelly · 27/02/2023 21:42

The 73 genders thing is daft and, if that's how it happened, it wasn't necessary to insist the child believes that and it was totally the wrong way to deal with it.

The sex education sounds very inappropriate but I don't see the text saying that the drag queen was doing any of the teaching and therefore it is a matter for the people who designed the curriculum to deal with, but in a nasty, manipulative bit of homophobia it's been written ambiguously to link those with the drag queen. Even a wokey snowflake like me initially read it as the drag queen having done that before I realised that's not what it said, so it's clearly written to set people off.

Maybe you don't like drag, but if you amplify these stories uncritically you are being a useful idiot for deeply unpleasant people who want to destroy LGBTQ's people's lives with the 'won't someone think of the children' line and turning otherwise reasonable people to the idea that all gay rights have gone too far and they need putting back in the closet.

My parents would have gone spare, utterly spare. It would have been unthinkable back then (late 70s) anyway. It's astounding that it can even be contemplated.

FrancescaContini · 27/02/2023 20:54

Really horrifying.

Isle of Them, surely.

😂😂

Sab launched a GoFundMe for the funeral costs for another drag queen who was a convicted child rapist.

Ah yes, his close friend who not only committed 4 x child rapes but was constantly having to be stopped from

Icecreamandapplepie · 27/02/2023 20:31

@plantarfun .

I totally agree with you.

I feel the teaching about anal sex is very, very close to the line as it is so clearly inappropriate but actually teaching how to masturbate must cross it.

Are there red flags about a school’s ideological capture or does your child just come home one day saying people can literally change sex or telling you about adult sexual practises?

From what I've seen it varies. Sometimes people see red flags before it gets to that stage. Sometimes the school completely outsources their teaching on this to Mermaids, Gendered Intelligence, Stonewall etc and don't really keep an eye on them. Sometimes you have gender zealots on the staff.

AnneLovesGilbert · 27/02/2023 20:12

I don’t want to derail/merail but as someone with a child starting school this year how the fuck do you know whether or not they’ll have bought into this abusive insanity? Are there red flags about a school’s ideological capture or does your child just come home one day saying people can literally change sex or telling you about adult sexual practises?

It terrifies me. Whatever we tell them as parents of course they listen to their teachers, that’s the point of school.

mach2 · 27/02/2023 20:11

Adults have obviously felt afraid to say "no" to this. So it's left up to an 11 year old child. Ffs.

It is very "emporer's new clothes".

Ereshkigalangcleg · 27/02/2023 20:10

Who can forget the time when Pink News breathlessly reported that "Aida" had been sent death threats on Mumsnet, just because a poster had said that anyone else using ADHD as a name "would be crucified", ie they would be cancelled, not nailed to an actual cross and executed.

bellac11 · 27/02/2023 20:04

Whats the rules on curriculum for the Isle of Man, is it bound by the UK government

What led the school to make this choice?

Nomorebeer22 · 27/02/2023 20:04

Unfortunately it's all true. Its been being talked about on island for a good few days now. Most people can see it for what it is, totally disgraceful and grooming of our children. It was being discussed on fb by a local politician who thought it was totally fine and the shared a picture of a drag queen stood next to a wall with
"The biggest danger of taking your child to a drag show is that a christian will turn up with a gun" in big balloon letters.

When it was being discussed she made out that all the parents (or just normal bloody sensible people) who are in uproar a out this are just kicking off because trans stuff was being discussed. Yeah, that's the main issue. Not teaching 11 year olds that anal sex and other kinks are totally normal. Crazy crazy people.

SinnerBoy · 27/02/2023 20:03

I must be pretty thick, but why is Aida H Dee offensive?

HooverIsAlwaysBroken · 27/02/2023 20:02

I don’t care about the amount of genders. If they want to say that it is pronouns and show this film, I am ok with that 😁

on a serious note, I am completely shocked that adults who want to discuss sex practice with small children may not be the most suitable, genuinely shocked!!

misschem · 27/02/2023 19:59

This is exactly why my children will be attending the school I work at.

I'll stay out of their way as much as I can, but at least I'll know what's being taught to them.

GarveySister · 27/02/2023 19:58

Fucking hell. That is SO disturbing.

The government need to sort this shit out and stop allowing schools to teach this dangerous nonsense to children.

ArabellaScott · 27/02/2023 19:57

yourhairiswinterfire · 27/02/2023 17:49

Sex education should be a serious subject, why the fuck are they getting a clown performing a piss-poor parody of a woman in to teach it?

100%

Amanita4 · 27/02/2023 19:55

@DeeCeeCherry well said.

DeeCeeCherry · 27/02/2023 19:53

Its White Male Privilege in a dress and that's exactly why they're getting away with this kind of stuff. No other demographic would get away with it. Its the elephant in the room in plain sight thats not discussed.

& Just imagine a female teacher in skimpy clothing delivering a SexEd class; the villification would be off the scale.

If there is ever an end put to this utter madness, it won't be women's collective voices that will shut it down ( Which isn't to say women shouldn't keep on speaking out. Of course we must). It will be the sheer weight of men's voices joining with women against this kind of thing. & whether it will ever happen that men mobilise and speak out against all of this, I just don't know. For now, I can't see it.

I can't tell from the article whether the drag queen debacle and the anal sex teaching are two separate incidents.

I’m sick of this drag queen in schools and what they are teaching especially the anal sex at age 11 children they don’t need to know this.

Kerfuffler · 27/02/2023 19:45

Always4Brenner · 27/02/2023 19:43

Agree enough is enough I’ve had it to hear with this, now drag queens teaching sex education and what he teaching doesn’t appropriate at that age. At 11 I’d have horrified at anal sex teaching.
