In section 6 Anti-LGBT+ Section hopenothate.org.uk/2023/02/26/state-of-hate-2023-rhetoric-racism-and-resentment/

As you can imagine that insane group Actual Gender Critical Left (basically a tiny group of 3 or 4 women who think they are intellectual giants) are revellling in this.

As AGCL has been one of the main sources of smears and misrepresentation against PP they must feel they have achieved their aims. Note the comments from those who are also part of WPUK. www.facebook.com/groups/904109420071073/posts/1571864919962183/

KJK fills me with hope
!.

inkjet · 27/02/2023 22:39

I’ve never heard of AGCL, are there well-known (to feminists, anyway) women in it?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 27/02/2023 22:14

I'm sure it's inevitable.

BordoisAgain · 27/02/2023 22:12

Ooh, will we be getting another KJK is the literal worst thread off the back of this?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 27/02/2023 22:01

Barrel scraping

Hope not Hate has been am oxymoron for a long time. I followed them on twitter when they started thinking they were a good thing, but sadly they've been pushing hate not hope for a long time.

Yes, same here. And also with Stop Funding Hate, who went after The Mail for supporting Linda Bellos!

ExiledElsie · 27/02/2023 18:18

"I think the problem is that like it or not Hope Not Hate is used by lazy journalists as a source for stories.

They wont bother with looking at the facts.

And this will just become another false statement that will be repeated as true with, for many TRAs, the added benefit of being confirmed by a "respected" group."

This.

I hate the term fascist because it doesn't tell you what the person has done wrong, it tells you they are a baddie and to keep away.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 27/02/2023 18:02

They blocked me on Facebook for pointing out to some brocialist arse, with the actual numbers, that trans people were not at greater risk of murder than the general population.

It's a bit strange but Kellie Jay is one of the few people who make me feel hopeful. I do wonder why that could be ...

This.

KJK makes me feel hope for women and children in this country. She is magnificent and so, so brave.

The twisting that is required to take 'let women speak' and the straightforward 'we don't want men in women's spaces' into something hateful is quite amazing. Especially when you look at who is attending KJK's events and who the opposing side are. Yes, all these mums and grandmas are hateful - so ridiculous.

And if that is hateful, TW pushing their way into women's spaces despite the loud and clear 'no' from very many women is what?

And it does also show that what to most women is a tiny irrelevant group, can be used by those hostile to women's sex based rights, as evidence that women are pro trans.

If you look at the reach on FWR and despite derails etc., has a fairly common opinion on the erosion of women's rights. But somehow those with a platfrom the MSM listen to just ignore or insult mumsnet etc..

Yes, I saw AGCL being rude about KJK. I agree they’re jealous of the impact she’s making.

There are all these disingenuous little threads on here too about ‘I really admire Posie but….’ Or ‘Is it true that KJK…’

JoodyBlue · 27/02/2023 17:17

I agree AGCL are irrelevant really, so ineffectual that despite claims to have been fighting for feminism for decades have made little headway in the public imagination. KJK on the other hand has been very successfully in her communications and her branding. She speaks to ordinary people - men and women. If the movement was interested in women cohesively it would resist this bitching. I am really disappointed that it doesn't. But it is fairly obvious who is going by the wayside and who will be listened to going forward. The only thing KJK says to date, is let women speak, and she calls out issues that are obviously harmful to women and girls. She has no partisan agenda, at least no publicaly owned one to this point. But I do feel for her - she is not without feelings as anyone who has watched her speak will attest. I am pretty sure AGCL would not like a taste of their own medicine.

Villagetoraiseachild · 27/02/2023 17:10

KJK is pro women and children and the protection of their human dignity.
Just watch and listen to the beautiful speech from yesterday's Standing for Women by Natalie, if you haven't already...

DerekFaker · 27/02/2023 17:09

AGCL can revel all they like. They are becoming ever more irrelevant.

DerekFaker · 27/02/2023 17:08

How fucking ridiculous.

None of that description is in good faith. I appreciate they use a different approach but I hate the fact that they use guilt by association.

PronounssheRa · 27/02/2023 16:56

I have little time for hope not hate.

They profited from a TV series about the plan to kill Rosie Cooper. Rosie said she was used as a marketing tool for the drama, and feared it might inspire further attacks.

Hope not hate didn't care.
