It’s going on now, I started watching when the woman with the suffragette scarf sitting in the wheelchair did her speech. Really moving.

I don’t know why he asked me that eresh

The police man I asked about why these protestors were allowed to be so close to us, asked me if I was ‘intimidated’. I pointed out the two women beside me were visibly shaking.

And yet he did nothing? Not even say, "Sorry, there's not enough of us, keep close and I'll watch him." Is it on film? I'm just wondering if it's worth making a complaint. I'm assuming that there's enough to make one about Mr. Megaphone Lifer.

Felix125 · 28/02/2023 12:48

What are they arrested for D&D
Are they public around them at the time - night time economy?

You will still need someone to show that a member of the public have been harassed, alarmed or distressed by it.

So, in all those Night Police programmes, when the cop says, "OK Kevin, one more swear word and you're nicked!" and Kevin says, "Fuck's sake!" and goes in the van, that's all wrong, is it?

Quick google:

Speakers’ Corner is active throughout the year.
It is untrue that those at Speakers’ Corner have any sort of legal protection. At Speakers’ Corner one enjoys the same legal freedoms as anywhere else in the UK and you can be arrested for breaking the law
As far as our research could establish, there are no rules regarding any of the following;
the audience must stand two feet from the speaker,
audience members shouldn’t interrupt the speaker,
use of megaphones.

The police man I asked about why these protestors were allowed to be so close to us, asked me if I was ‘intimidated’. I pointed out the two women beside me were visibly shaking. And I could feel them shaking holding their hands. I pointed out that not one of us was yelling. We were quietly standing there holding hands.

While we were yelled at by very young protesters, in masks, carrying signs and singing about terfs bleeding.

Yes, of fucking course we were fucking intimidated! I, of course, was very polite. But what the actual fuck.

That's outrageous. Why was he asking, idle curiosity?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 28/02/2023 12:41

It looks like Baker, or someone who wants to pretend to be Baker, was on this thread overnight to continue intimidating women.

Is this a local by-law - and if so what powers are attached to it?

Felix

It is Hyde Park speakers corner , I suggest if you are interested you might look it up.

Because you are the one who is saying that its an offence
What offence are you referring to?

So, if I wander down the high street on a Friday night, chanting, "Kill the Scousers, they're all cunts," you'd have to wait for someone from Liverpool to complain, before detaining me under Section 5?
When did that all change?

Why don't YOU do some investigating and find out @Felix125 ?

So, if someone had reported this directly to police at the time - yes, they should have been challenged. Did the reporting person do this and was a crime recorded? if so, what was the outcome of it?

What is the 'device' which was used that was illegal?

Jesus fucking Christ it's lIke pulling teeth with you @Felix125

Baker was using a megaphone, which is not allowed in the place where it was being used, the Police there on the day know this. The Police there on the day, more thaN one of them, were asked to stop Baker using that device you know as it is not allowed in that place, the Police did not, the Police are not blind and deaf (or maybe they are) they could see and hear Baker, Baker was committing an offence, the Police did not act, the excuse was something along the lines of we don't want to cause any more issues.

I can fucking guarantee that if ANY of the women at the event so much as had a megaphone in their possession they would have found themselves in the back of a Police van before they could blink, their feet wouldn't have touched the ground.

All the women there abided by the law regarding the use of megaphones/amplification devices ONE PERSON DID NOT and that one person is a male and a member of the sacred trans caste which the Police treat with kid gloves.

This is NOT Policing fairly, without fear or favour and NOTHING YOU SAY WILL MAKE IT SO. Police there on the day turned a bind eye to the offence Baker was committing because they are too bloody cowardly or too bloody captured by GI Ideology.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 28/02/2023 12:35

I'll hazard a guess that Felix won't see any issue with that Helle.

‘Which device’? You mean the amplification ‘device‘ being used right in front of the police and the banners and flags , that are against the park’s code.

I brought it up with the police man standing directly in front of me and was told that they wanted to ‘balance’ the ‘protesting groups’ so they left them using it.

I also pointed out that we were women, coming here to meet and to talk about our experiences under this tree as we have done once a month for over a year or two now. No protesting at all.

Yes. Those protestors were allowed to intimidate and silence women who were conducting themselves lawfully and respectful of the laws of the park. I heard several other women up the line as the police men in front of them exactly the same questions I asked.

And they were all told that a senior officer knew it was happening, acknowledged it was illegal but chose not to do anything about it.

Was that the ‘device’ you were asking about?

I am worried you are right. It's incredibly frustrating. It's why the police need to do their job properly, before it gets out of hand.

Well said - this is what i have being saying all along on both threads.

A complaint has been made and the police should investigate that complaint.

Felix125 · 28/02/2023 12:26

ExiledElsie

Did you ID the person responsible at the time to the police?
Was the crime recorded and how was it concluded?

If you ID'd the person at the time for a specific offence it could have been followed up for that offence later - vol interviews etc

There is never enough police to cover these evens - unfortunately, we don't have unlimited resources.

Someone on licence will have certain conditions - for example:
Has to live and sleep at a certain address
Has to report to their probation officer twice a week
Has to sign at a local police station 3 days a week

For them to breach their licence conditions, they have to break one of these rules

If they commit a crime - that's a separate thing all together from licence conditions and they can be prosecuted for the crime. The governor of the prison can then recall them - but it won't be due to breaching their licence.

EfingNora · 28/02/2023 07:41

@AlisonDonut "What it is to have a cock and balls and have different rules." That's a great line for a terf poem.

KatMcBundleFace · 28/02/2023 07:16

It's like TRAs will never learn.... protesting against us just makes you draw attention to the event.
More people will think you bullies.
More people will have heard that disabled woman speak.
We aren't peaking the world - you are. And you lack the self awareness to comprehend what your behaviour looks like to the outside world.

I watch your behaviour and think, cheers, that's a few more column inches. I keep thinking you'll realise how it's backfiring and stop, but no, because, you are frankly bonkers.

Carry on. Peak the world.

SinnerBoy · 28/02/2023 07:16

The more you hate, the more we'll love?

Well, the English language certainly seems to have turned upside down. I hadn't realised that tweets threatening rape, placards threatening death, screaming at babies and assaulting women was loving behaviour.

Fallingirl · 28/02/2023 06:18
