KJK opposing fertility treatment for gay couples

KJK seems to have an ongoing beef with same sex couples having fertility treatment. Why? How is this benefiting women's rights?

Is is definitely not benefiting lesbian rights.

It also appears to be attracting all the homophobes on Twitter.

Of course, by your logic, a straight woman with an infertile male partner is an infertile woman...

beastlyslumber · 22/02/2023 22:23

Why do straight women with an infertile male partner never get told to just find another man and use his sperm?

Erm... they do.

SapphosRock · 22/02/2023 22:21

You don't need a clinic or medical intervention to get sperm, just a man willing to give you his sperm.

Here we go again. Lesbians 'just' need a man willing to give us his sperm.

In think OP is on a wind up too.

No one can be so daft that they think a medical issue which prevents natural conception is the same as a gay/lesbian couple being unable to conceive naturally.

There is no context to the original tweet but it is factually correct. A same sex couple are not infertile because they need the input of a third person of the opposite sex to conceive.

Why is the trad title so dishonest? In the link to KJK YouTube channel, KJK is be very clear that there are certain types of fertility treatment she doesn't agree with, she does not make any reference to this in the context of same sex couples. She doesn't agree with them regardless of someone's sexual orientation.

How did the OP see the retweet? I had a quick look at the account and the person appears to be quite socially conservative and pretty right wing. This is like Hearts of Oak all over again; OP seems far better acquainted with right wingers, who they portray as the devil incarnate, than the rest of us.

I'm torn between thinking OP is a (relapsed) TRA or a hard right Christian fundamentalist, it's really hard to tell. Either way this thread is pure shit stirring propaganda and I'm not sure what the objective is. If OP was intending to make a fool of herself she has succeeded.

I find the OP rather disingenuous.

KJK's tweet is factual. But the quote tweet provided is designed to make the reader think she has espoused that view, a view that I thoroughly disagree with btw. It's extremely leading and dishonest imo.

The OP states that KJK's Tweet is attracting the homophobes on Twitter. I shared an example of the homophobia.

Yes. It is dishonest. Obviously hoping if mud is thrown, some will stick.

I'm still trying to figure out why (or how) op thinks two healthy, fertile people of the same sex can reproduce and give rise to shared genetic offspring. As it is only when they are 'infertile' that there is a problem.

Them 'Young Earth Creationists' have competition in the anti science stakes.

Two women will need help from a fertility clinic if they are to procreate.

Claiming this is not a fertility issue is claiming two women who wish to procreate should not be able to access fertility treatment.

This is homophobic.

Honestly the homophobia on this thread is quite shocking.

No they won't, they can do at home insemination. The absence of a man to father your child isn't a medical issue, there's nothing physically wrong with you, you are just missing sperm. You don't need a clinic or medical intervention to get sperm, just a man willing to give you his sperm.

Reproduction is very homophobic, I agree.

Honestly, I can’t believe we now have to point out that biology isn’t homophobic. I’m kind of used to saying biology isn’t transphobic, but this is a whole new level!

Happylittlechicken · 22/02/2023 21:53

@SapphosRock so why is lack of spermatozoa in a female partnership a fertility issue? Are you saying all straight single women are also infertile?

Eyerollcentral · 22/02/2023 21:53

SapphosRock · 22/02/2023 21:50

they just need the sperm, not the male

Yes they do. Which makes it a fertility issue!!!

No it is not. It is a biology issue. They could both be in perfect health fertility wise, they still could not conceive between them.

EndlessTea · 22/02/2023 21:53

TheSingingBean · 22/02/2023 21:41

This thread is nuts, I'm struggling to believe the op isn't a wind-up.

I believe it’s part wind up, but it also demonstrates how obfuscating language like ‘equal reproductive rights’ can lead people to think that biology/reality itself is somehow unfair, homophobic or transphobic, because it doesn’t let two people of the same sex create babies like heterosexuals and it won’t let people decide they are male or female.

They need to get a grip, stop the wishful thinking and accept reality.

beastlyslumber · 22/02/2023 21:52

This is crazy!!

No, it is saying that it is not a fertility issue. It says nothing about whether they should be entitled to assisted reproduction (whether or not paid for by the tax payer).

absolutely

Op, gay couples don't need fertility treatment. They need a partner of the opposite sex!!

This is homophobic. Lesbians are constantly being told they need a partner of the opposite sex.

Reality is not homophobic.

You need sperm and eggs to make a baby. That's not homophobic, it's just biology.

RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 22/02/2023 21:46

Happylittlechicken · 22/02/2023 21:45

Maybe that was phrased wrong @SapphosRock maybe they meant they need input from the opposite sex. Which they do. No sperm = no baby.

Yes i thought that was obvious

they just need the sperm, not the male

Lol nobody cares. Calling people "phobic" for having a difference of opinion is shitty behaviour. Nobody on this thread is "phobic". They just don't share your view that being in a same sex relationship causes infertility.

Lol! They do need male input to have a baby. Do you not get that? It’s not homophobic. Talk about a reach

Yes that's the shocking part of this thread 🙄 not the denial of biological reality or the making of wild, libellous claims of homophobia of a woman who in 48 hours or so is due to be interviewed by the police for the same wild claims.

Oh. The homophobia.

DemiColon · 22/02/2023 21:30

This is the same logic that leads to the claim that not treating transwomen in every way like women is transphobic.

Artificial reproductive technology is generally accessed through things called "fertility clinics."

But they can be used by anyone. Even totally fertile people could use these technologies. That doesn't make it a "fertility treatment".

It's not difficult to see why so many people get sucked into gender ideology when people honestly think that it's discrimination to accept the realities of human biology. It's the same thinking that claims that any disparity between identity groups means there is an underlying bias that needs to be socially engineered out of existence.

Brokendaughter · 22/02/2023 21:30

SapphosRock · 22/02/2023 15:55

I’m wondering what it is you think “fertility” means? Do you think a single woman who wants a baby outside of a relationship has fertility issues? If lesbian couples have “fertility issues” (in absence of any medical problems that might prevent them from becoming pregnant) presumably you must also think this applies to single childless women. Or is it the being in a relationship with “the person you love” that creates the infertility?

I am talking about gay equality. If you support lesbians having equal rights then you would support the NHS treating them the same as heterosexual couples.

The NHS does not offer surrogacy and I don't believe it funds IVF for single women. It does fund donor sperm IUI and IVF for male factor infertility in straight couples. Therefore if you believe lesbians should have equal rights the NHS should fund donor spend IUi and IVF for lesbian couples.

Therefore two women being unable to procreate IS a fertility issue.

I think Lesbians should of course have the same rights as a couple that a heterosexual couple have.

However, I do not personally believe anyone should have access to any form of 'infertility' treatment, or conception assistance as part of the NHS.
I don't think it should be available privately either.

Having a child is not a 'right' & not every person who wants one will be fortunate enough to become a parent.

It is possible to not agree with practices such as IVF or surrogacy & still support the equal treatment of those in same sex relationships.
