Haha, I've just glanced upthread and spotted some of the more hounding and harassing posts 😂.

As far as I'm concerned - let rip! It's a good display and demonstration of the mentality that can be displayed at times, (in response to a pretty moderate and mainstream position, might I add)and I'm sure will be eye opening to some readers.

But, of course I am one person, with work and a busy life. Short of making it a 24-7 job I can not possibly respond to all posts querying mine.

Yes. It is a really great display of your attempts to use false equivalences and dishonest distortions to support your posts to get people to stop discussing something.

I think that people reading will notice you have talked about hostility that you seem to believe people have against a group. When this thread is clearly about a male who seems to love to steal women’s clothes and even gets photographs and publishes them while wearing those clothes.

And readers will note that even your other claims lack substance. Strange that pointing that out has become ‘harassment’ .

Pretty much along the same lines as saying discussing this issue is ‘hostile’.

The thread of weakness of supporting evidence to those claims are easily noticed.

How about you start to engage with Brinton’s love of stolen clothes? Would you mind telling us what kind of male steals women’s clothes when they have plenty of cash, a good job and is known to wear dresses and skirts so there is no need to steal someone else’s?

CryptoFascistMadameCholet · 23/02/2023 09:45

Ngl, this tweet reply cracked me up.

A moment of lightness in this gross and violating story.

You could answer them all in one fell swoop with just one credible bit of evidence. Shouldn't be so hard to find. Pubmed is accessible and pretty straight forward to use.

Whether Brinton knew or not, they have photos of themselves wearing stolen clothes!

This male is shockingly proud of their thefts.

I actually now wish I could hear the explanation if they try to deny it …

I’m not sure exactly where I stand on the concept of cultural appropriation personally* but presumably the circles Brinton moves in at least pretend to care about it?

Because this is surely a most obvious and egregious example of taking the aesthetic of someone else’s culture and being lauded for it without that person or their culture receiving any acknowledgement or credit?

He literal STOLE Asyaki Hamsin’s designs and paraded them about at events with guests who are at pinnacle of world politics!

Reposting Hamsin’s twitter to try and restore some of the balance - her designs should have her name attached (I hope the increased public profile results in good things for her mid and long term although I suspect it will be stressful in the short term).

*Personal view is that like with a lot of intersectional topics something that was once welll-intentioned and based on an observable phenomenon has gone monstrously out of control and is now used disingenuously to deepen divisions and claim personal capitall rather than facilitate cross cultural understanding and mutual respect

Chersfrozenface · 23/02/2023 09:39

Disproving is harassing.
Questioning is hounding.

Somewhat Orwellian, really.

Oh, and inability to provide credible evidence and arguments results in "I have to go out / I have no time for this / I have a busy life" and off-flouncing.

All very familiar.

OnlyTheWeedsGrow · 23/02/2023 09:36

Which posts are “hounding and harassing”, please?

Just reposting this so we can concentrate on the narcissism of this man who steals women's clothes and has them remade so he can parade about in them.

Presumably he's involved a designer in this appropriation as well.

Revolting man.

I also doubt whether he had them remade.

If you look at the photos of Asya Khamsin and Brinton one above the other in the Mail, you will see that the neckline which lies perfectly on Asya is too wide for Brinton.

And some of the clothes were for display at an event in Washington. Asya makes clothes for standard size models - see the first and second photos and note the dress second from left in the lower photo here nypost.com/2023/02/22/fashion-designer-claims-sam-brinton-wore-her-stolen-clothes/

Datun · 23/02/2023 09:22

I don't think he realised those were one-off items.

That's what I think. I know the risk and the blatant aspect is all part of it, but I think it's more likely he just didn't know. How would he?

SinnerBoy · 23/02/2023 09:21

suggestionsplease1 · Today 08:10

Oh hello! I am still waiting for a logical and coherent defence of binary sex thank you very much.

That's quite simply untrue, as you know perfectly well. In fact, it's you who is - obviously - unable to provide any evidence - because it doesn't, cannot and never will exist - that human sex is on a spectrum. We don't "believe" that sex is binary, we know it is, because of the huge mass of evidence which proves it.

You, on the other hand, believe in a way akin to religious extremism, that sex is a spectrum; you ignore and belittle any piece of evidence, which demonstrates that you are incorrect, or else, you simply fail to understand it.

Chersfrozenface · 23/02/2023 09:18

ArabellaScott · 23/02/2023 08:56

Bear in mind some personality disorders compel people to make very irrational choices.

In this case I'm going with ignorance.

If, as we surmise and as is very probable, Brinton targets the luggage of women he has spotted and scoped (but does not know personally) at airports, he might well have stolen the luggage of a stylish-looking woman without the least idea that she was a fashion designer.

I don't think he realised those were one-off items. I doubt whether her clothes and name have ever come up in mainstream fashion media, even if Brinton reads / sees any such media.

Helleofabore · 23/02/2023 09:16

Were. Not wed

Helleofabore · 23/02/2023 09:15

Hey, maybe they are friends with the designer and she forgot they wed friends and that she gave Brinton those exact clothes she made for herself and reported stolen!!

I mean, we are here to believe theoretical thinking aren’t we? I propose this theory and I expect you all to believe it.

picklemewalnuts · 23/02/2023 09:15

And of course it's all alleged. It's entirely accidental that he's been charged with stealing suitcases on more than one occasion, and has been photographed in other people's clothes.

Entirely coincidental. Obviously.

picklemewalnuts · 23/02/2023 09:13

CryptoFascistMadameCholet · 22/02/2023 22:59

Helleofabore · 23/02/2023 09:12

Fuck. That is brazen.

And still there are posters trying to either defend them, stop us talking about a male paraphilia or well, something … not sure what the desired outcome was!

OnlyTheWeedsGrow · 23/02/2023 09:09

He has no shame, none!

Lots of maladaptive sexual behaviours and paraphilias have an element of impulsivity/risk taking.

I’m sure this kind of thing in combination (kleptomania, crossdressing, exhibitionism) has been observed in ye olde sexology case studies - the exact sorts of case studies that the kinkandqueer activists attack researchers over. Very unfashionable studies.

What was the name of that serial killing military dude who had loads of photos of himself in Women’s bikinis and underwear sets, photos taken when he’d broken into their houses to steal their clothes?

Helleofabore · 23/02/2023 08:56

I am still laughing at the attempts to shame people by suggestions.

ArabellaScott · 23/02/2023 08:56

Datun · 23/02/2023 08:38

I'm assuming he didn't realise these were custom made by the designer herself. He probably didn't imagine they could be identified as one offs.

Ugh. The poor woman. It really makes my flesh crawl, god knows what it does to her.

Bear in mind some personality disorders compel people to make very irrational choices.

So this is a thread about a man stealing women’s clothes at airports and it’s been co-opted by someone claiming the absurd idea that sex isn’t binary?

If sex isn’t binary and easy to identify how does Sam Brinton know whose suitcases to steal?

The expensive one that have pretty designs?

question is, have men’s suitcases also been stolen?

If not that is some accurate profiling Brinton does! Or as has been suggested they scope it out at check in.

Naunet · 23/02/2023 08:52

Just your standard male pervert, emboldened by cheering handmaids, fellow male perverts and a misogynist ideology. I hope he gets 10 years, but I’m not convinced he will, he’s too special.

CryptoFascistMadameCholet · 23/02/2023 08:51

ArabellaScott · 23/02/2023 08:26

Mate, you're just talking absolute mince.

I’m really into bringing phrases like ‘mince’ and ‘bobbins’ at the moment

‘Bollox’ is my current specialgender version but I think we need regional UK and NI dialect revival to push back against American cultural imperialism creep via the internet.

I appreciate you. 😍

In other news:
Brinton is a still an (alleged) sex pest and proven liar who targets women them desperately wishes they could be - creative, artistic, striking. The thought of them selecting they’s victims gives me THE SHIVERS.

Can any US Mumsnetters update us on the legal cases thus far?

GrabbyGabby · 23/02/2023 08:48

And, have you ever seen Joe Biden parading with a butch lesbian for diversity credibility points? Nope, only creepy ass men wearing clothes that no woman in public life would be permitted to.

The double standards we are expected to swallow are nauseating. The blatant misogyny is off the fucking scale.
