If true I may take a trip down to Cardiff Bay and shout "DRAKEFORD, ARE YOU FUCKING WATCHING, ARE YOU FUCKING LISTENING?!"

I’ll be there with you 👍

Nicola Sturgeon has admitted she is "deeply" worried about women being put off entering politics due to the levels of abuse, misogyny and threats of sexual violence experienced on social media by those who "put their heads above the parapet".

FFS.
She didn't have an epiphany did she?

If she had been more worried about women being put off entering a bathroom because of levels of abuse, misogyny and threats of sexual violence maybe she would have still had a job!

I may get a T shirt.

I AM A DARK FORCE
or just
DARK FORCE

What font should I go for?

Surely it's this font

Ouch. The list of policy failures, and comparisons with asking a politician the cost of a pint of milk, with the woman/penis question of today:

Wings and Craig Murray are useful to read, for some of the wider picture, or other things that may be happening. I think they both have blind spots though, especially around women. They don't quite get it.

I've always thought the legal action against Craig Murray and Alex Salmond had something a bit "off" about it. Couldn't quite tell you what, but things seemed as though they didn't completely add up somehow. Never looked closely at Wings and legal goings on though.

scratchedbymycat · 16/02/2023 16:23

Oh yes ... there was this. I think his very thin skin and snarky attitude got him into this situation.

@SidewaysOtter

Independence supporter. Many of us might agree with him on gender ideology but strongly disagree with him on independence.

And ...

He's a divisive figure. I've never liked his snarky snippy style of writing either. During Indy ref he was quite vile, actually. And I had him pegged as very thin-skinned and nasty when he got defensive. I remember some unpleasant tweets towards women that were a bit misogynistic - wish I could remember the names of the targets. In fact, I blocked him because I found him so unpleasant. I used to be appalled that Indy supporting friends of mine would read him and quote him. The moment anyone mentioned WOS I'd switch off.

I do see elements of the same style now too: the way he gathers info together and then interprets it in a leading way. Usually with snark and tone and a smidgeon of aggression. I don't really trust him to be properly objective, so I'm reading it all with a very open mind and a touch of distaste and watching my own bias doesn't predispose me too much to what he says. He reminds me of conspiracy theorists.

I vaguely remember conflict between him and SNP too at some point. They possibly used him (fed him info then dumped him). I think he might have been hoping to go into politics ... but I'm genuinely dredging my memory here. Also, not being either a SNP or WOS fan I didn't follow it closely or pick a side. Pretty sure there was some sort of friction ....

Comic Sans is an angelic type font which showers its blessings upon the dyslexic. Indeed, its effect on my sight reading is truly miraculous.

It is a bit over-used at primary level, though.

Other fonts for angelic helpfulness are available.

I still believe comic sans is demonic I'm afraid.

Out of interest, what's wrong with WOS?

And, given my previous profession, I do have to say that Comic Sans is the work of the devil and is the work of dark forces.

Its presence on primary school or nursery artwork of any kind should be written into law as a criminal offence.

Yes, politicians seem to be very slow to call out the rape and death threats received by prominent women from TRAs.

Well, Nicola, don't you think it would be a good idea to tell your Trans Zealot chums to rein in a bit and reduce it massively? If not, why not?

Funny her complete lack of support for the likes of Jo Cherry. Even though they disagreed politically you might have expected her to call out the rape threats she received.

Tim Farron was also an evangelical christian and for him he was repeatedely harrassed by the media on the issue as if it was the only issue, but for him and most other Christians and people of other faiths too, principles of faith matter more than political expediency.
I understand how people can actually admire those that are firm in their principles even when they disagree with those principles. Kate Forbe has principles in a way that Boris never had, he would change like the weather for votes etc, you can be against something on a personal level and still treat people with dignity and fairness. Most people who have any kind of interaction with the public will be dealing with people whose lifestyles and beliefs they fundamentally disagree with regularly.
you can disagree with veganism, gay marriage, nuclear weapons, anti-vaxxers etc etc without treating people who believe in this things any less favourably. You can protect peoples rights whilst disagreeing with how they uphold that right. You can uphold someone's right to free speech without agreeing or indeed fundamentally disagreeing with what they say

Exactly this. Look at Baroness Nicholson, who I disagree with on a fair few things but has been stalwart - and influential - in her support for women and children.

Also, font: the Star Wars one, obviously.
