@Onnabugeisha Onnabugeisha - can you not imagine how the abuse is compounded by knowing that thousands of other peadophiles are sharing images of your abuse, which incidentally are images of a crime scene, and getting off on it? Imagine how that feels, not only were you abused physically, it was photographed and filmed, and now is shared, sold, and comodified without your consent. Forever and ever, those images of abuse, pain and humilation will probably outlive you, and go on to fuel more and more abuse. Please just try to imagine, and be thankful that you do have to imagine it and don't know how it feels first hand.

To me, it’s bit like saying everyone who has seen an ISIS execution/beheading video is just as guilty as the actual terrorists doing the murdering and videoing.

There is a distinction to be made between the abuser and the later consumers of images even though both are criminals and sick. It’s minimising what the abusers do/did to equate their actions to be just as guilty or bad as passive watchers are.

One is magnitudes worse than the other (from my point of view.)

Geisha. Photos were taken of me. That was horrendous. What is even more horrendous is knowing they exist out there on the internet, photos of me being abused being viewed by men all over the world. Yes, as a consumer they are driving demand that causes abusers to abuse. That’s why it’s a crime to merely view, possess, or distribute abuse images. But it’s not the same as actually abusing the children and recording it.

How exactly are the victims abused over and over again just by someone else hundreds of miles away viewing the images of historic abuse? Sorry, but I’m a literal person and this doesn’t make sense, you cannot abuse a person all over again by without their knowledge viewing an image of abuse that happened to them in their past.

I hope you are right, however the point still remains that people who consume images of child sex abuse are complicit in that crime and if that is not reason enough to imprison or at least try to rehabilitate someone I don't know what is

Technically anyone who views child sex abuse images helps to abuse the child in the photo. The photos are produced for paedophiles to look at. If no-one looked there would be no market.

The viewer of these images is as guilty as the person with the camera.

Sende did cause the abuse of children. He did abuse children by viewing those images

Journalists had be absolute privilege to report on court proceedings but it has to be an accurate report on proceedings, so unfortunately if the defendant was referred to as a woman in court, using female pronouns, their hands are tied.

This just shouldn’t be allowed.

I assure you that prison staff do not want prisoners to be assaulted or murdered either, despite what you might read online. They have been looking after truly vulnerable prisoners in male prisons for many, many years, they can manage transwomen perfectly well too.

No. Every prisoner has a right to not be assaulted or murdered in prison. You start getting bloodthirsty about one demographic, and that’s how you get transwomen back in women’s prisons.

Surely the true trans, or however they wish to identify, are tired of these headlines too? This needs weeding out of their community... we've proposed solutions they don't like but what are the counter proposals? Continuing as we are, clearly isn't working.

@PonyPatter44 that's interesting and good to know they are in men's prisons. Hopefully Scotland will follow suit with all transwomen, not just the ones causing Nicola a headache.

@PSNonsense I agree with you completely. But do bear in mind that there are plenty of transwomen already in mens prisons in England. The overwhelming majority of these "individuals " (im quoting Nicola Sturgeon here) are sex offenders. I've worked in English prisons for a long time and probably encountered two dozen transwomen.... all but two were current or previous sex offenders.

Whilst I agree that non-contact sexual offenders are unlikely to be given a custodial sentence for the reasons you've given, I wouldn't be so sure about the trans status.

Put him in the female estate and there will be an outcry like in Scotland. Put him in the male estate (where he belongs) and the TRA/be kind and inclusive brigade will scream TERF bigots. Judges and politicians will be wanting to avoid the latter headache at all costs.

Unfortunately there are so many of these offenders that it genuinely isn't possible to send them to prison. Prisons are bursting at the seams, they are already on the emergency measures
