Was I the only one who thinks it's odd that this petal dress shtick starts with a close-up of his girl bulge?

And fgs what's so particularly feminine about giving yourself cosmetic hamster cheeks? Germany's green ftm - legally male - Bundestag parliamentarian recently dazzled with the same. Looked like they'd be able to get a goodly quantity of nuts and acorns tucked away in there.

I met him when I was a trot back in the early 80s when he and his Revolutionary Communist Party Tendency were pushing their absolutist exclusionary cult like party trying to recruit cadres from the far left 'popular' movement like ANL,SWP , Women's Voice. Creepy as fuck and they all pivoted on mass when the cult leader Frank Furedi got caught out defending the Srebenica massacre in the Serbian war with Living Marxism. They are not your friends - defended the child rapist Roman Polanski as well. He's now a far right gun for hire.

Thank you Brendan. It's great seeing men channel their fury and outrage in defence of women, facts and safeguarding.
Brilliant article

I take it you're unaware of O'Neill's years of anti-feminist writing such as

DeanVolecapeAKAelderberry · 04/02/2023 14:47

I always think how irritated I would be with a woman who behaved like that. Not that I've ever known one to - a few under 10 girls maybe.

mach2 · 04/02/2023 14:42

Mulvaney is sickening. My ex said that men who imitated women always overdid it with voice, gestures and mannerisms. A caricature. I thought of her words the minute I first saw a Mulvaney vid - the constant inane grin, the squealing and flapping about.

O’Neill is the furthest thing from a feminist I can think of. He’s jumped on this because he’s a cynical grifter, and he’s taking people that believe him like mugs. God I hate how easily people are duped.

You can have whatever viewpoint you like about trans, obviously, but for the love of God don’t blindly follow the likes of him. He just weakens, and cheapens your argument.

Thank you for your advice 👍

DeanVolecapeAKAelderberry · 04/02/2023 14:31

But it is interesting that O'Neill sees this as a 'take' that will get approval. Would that have been the case a month ago?

I may be in the minority here, but I still believe that it is still an act for this Dylan. Perhaps he's getting pulled in further into this thing, but a nose job isn't going to be much of a blocker to detransition.

Is he taking hormones, become infertile, etc?

I still think he's doing the minimal amount of stuff to be considered trans, whilst coining it in.

Lose the penis and then we'll talk, but if you're not willing to do that, I'm not willing to believe that you have gender dysmorphia.

Very few men who transition have genital surgery. Under 10% I believe.

When people lobby for trans healthcare, they typically mean hormones and facial surgery for men. For women it means breast amputation and hormones

its not like Dylan had an overly masculine face to begin with. He didn't start from looking like a rugged bearded 6ft 8 lumberjack.

So, I'm not convinced that a bit of facial surgery has more to do with his trans journey to womanhood than sheer vanity.

Can't stand the man but if he's got this I may have to reconsider

Makes me laugh, I used to want to put my foot through the TV if Brendan appeared, now I applaud him. That's a really good article.

I know!! Finally using those powers of contrarianism for good.

NicolaSturgeonsSOGIbottom · 04/02/2023 12:50

It’s hard to ignore the elephant in the room when the elephant puts on lipstick and starts dancing around suggestively, demanding we all say it looks JUST like Audrey Hepburn.

ArabellaScott · 04/02/2023 12:42

Yes, I think wossname, Madness of Crowds bloke, had a similar awakening.

Douglas Murray.

Also possibly the Triggernometry people and Wings over Scotland.

Various men seem to have recently grasped the misogyny in society that had previously not been visible to them. I mean, genderism does seem to have shone a light on it rather starkly.

What other explanation can there be for a movement that supports putting rapists in women's prisons to avoid them having hurt feelings?

Datun · 04/02/2023 12:33

One of the really interesting things about all this is that men like Brendan O'Neill are getting massive doses of un-ignorable misogyny shot right in their face and it's opened their eyes.

There's an element of oh, this is what those feminazis were banging on about, I see it now.

And we all know what happens, once you see it...

Somanyquestionstoaskaboutthis · 04/02/2023 12:14

As a relative newbie that article was brilliant in its simplicity. Although my caffeine deprived brain had mixed up Brendan as being Mrs Brown’s Boys Brendan which caused confusion 😀. I’ve got coffee now so all is good.

O'Neill's writing is crystal clear. So sharp.

And yes, Greer had the measure of this in the Female Eunuch, way back in the 70s.

Womanhood is not a costume, and it's not a fetish. It's not mystical, mythical, or anything to do with a soul.

I think this really gets to the point:

'This is trans activism summed up: the entire category of woman undemocratically reimagined and rebranded to make it inclusive of men'.

Yes. It's good old fashioned western world colonization.

Hostile take over, silence and disempower the natives, ban their culture and language and enforce enactment of the obviously superior beliefs of the colonisers, hang a few as an example to the rest about any ideas of rebellions, and then take and indoctrinate the kids before they learn the old, backward, heathen ways of the indigenous.

In about fifty years come the official apologies and sad photos and Hugh Jackman will star in a film about it, and local authorities will try to re establish the old ways through teaching them in primary schools in special classes.

Holly came from Miami, F.L.A.
Hitch-hiked her way across the U.S.A.
Plucked her eyebrows on the way
Shaved her legs and then he was a she…

Lou Reed, Walk on the wild side

That's about right.

The lyrics usually going round my head are "come Armageddon come" (the Smiths) after reading anything about Dylan #FFS Mulvaney, but Brendan gives me hope.

NicolaSturgeonsSOGIbottom · 04/02/2023 10:48

‘It robs womanhood of its biological, social and relational truths and makes it mere garb, to be donned by all who desire it.’

Maybe I’m making lazy assumptions but as more and more men speak publicly on this topic (on both sides) I really do suspect that the positions they take reveal a lot about their relationships with their own mothers.

I suspect, from snippets like the quote above, Brendan O’Neill loves and respects his mother and sees her as a complete person in her own right.

Whereas some of the writers on the other side of the debate (cough cough Pink News boss) see women as service and support for men, baby incubators to buy etc.

And yes, love the double meaning of FFS here! It probably won’t translate well for US Spiked readers mind you.

(US origin) FFS = Facial Feminisation Surgery
(UK origin) FFS = For Fucks Sake
