What's a good insult that is the opposite to TERF? 🤔

YourVagesty · 02/02/2023 13:27

I'm just arguing with people online (futile I know) but there's always a point where they'll say 'oh look, we found the TERF' or similar.

What's a good, equally childish riposte? 🤔

As our friend from PIE always demonstrates, people who call names don't have an argument.

If you find yourself arguing with people who aren't engaging in good faith- stop.

Don't do all the pejorative stuff suggested, it harms the GC cause.

QueenHippolyta · 05/02/2023 17:06

Post photos of the furries who are protesting and call them groomers, then say ' you want to see an 11 year olds pubes in the locker room' and call them Pervs!
be mean, be tough,be real
To win

QueenHippolyta · 05/02/2023 16:59

A returned argument is all about dominance with men. If you're more agressive than they are; they will back down.
Of course women are different and also socialized differently. But this is how the male bullies won in public all these years.
And it stops now!

Traliban?

Yes! I’m borrowing this.

SinnerBoy · 05/02/2023 16:11

All of the posters pointing out that a returned insult doesn't win an argument, I agree, but sometimes it's quite satisfying, especially if you're trying to reason with an extremist, who refuses to see anything but their side.

Great minds!

We must have a spiritual sister in Glasgow today!

Approx 4 years ago when I was on Twitter I would tell the mansplainers to "sit down, shut up and let the women talk."
This shocked them and worked because it's a what strong men do. And I'm a strong 2nd wave Lesbian.
You do need to employ those tactics; call them smurfs, Furry-lovers, embarrass them. Ridicule them and tie them to to the new PIE: pedophile information exchange.

They don't expect it from women and usually back down. We need to take charge of the conversation, Ladies.

anyolddinosaur · 05/02/2023 12:17

I dont do insults, I do use tired of explaining reality to fantasists, usually after telling them are mysogynists and homophobes trying to apply conversion therapy to gay people.

Musomama1 · 05/02/2023 11:17

I think Flat Earther is a quite good riposte.

People that deny reality, believe in conspiracies, shun science and are a bit dim.

Hopefully genderism will be similarly debunked.

OneSugar1 · 05/02/2023 10:34

Explain that the correct acronym is MERF. You welcome transmen into womens spaces so are far from trans exclusionary, but do not accept men in womens spaces.

reddit really is a cesspit for misogyny and ageism.

Aposterhasnoname · 05/02/2023 09:53

I usually just take it as a compliment reply “thanks, I try”

ExiledElsie · 05/02/2023 09:45

What's a good, equally childish riposte?

Boringly I don't think a childish riposte to a childish name calling is useful. I concentrate on the fact that "oh we've found the terf/bigot/transphobe" isn't an argument.

I reply with "tell me what I have said that isn't true?"

:)

Don’t worry, this username is a specific joke about a very particular Nicola. Definitely not a general insult aimed at non compliant women!

This is such a thing of impeccable beauty that I had to repost it! GlitterballGlitterballGlitterballGlitterballGlitterballGlitterball

I like a simple ‘So what? Your mum’s a terf’

Because 1) classic ‘your mum’ joke, but with the usual misogyny reversed (you are putting yourself and the mum on the same level, not denigrating her, whilst implying that the ‘found the terf’ person is likely a sexist dick towards zir’s mum on a regular basis.
2) Terves are cool because they speak up, don’t put up with stupid shit and call a spade a spade (well, a man a man, but you know what I mean!)
3) wite it in little letters, it makes it look like the silly made up word it is m, diminishes their power and demonstrates that they use at as pejorative noun for women who don’t pander to men, not as neutral factual acronym for a particular strain of thought amongst radical feminists.
4) it’s probably true. Even the crazy rainbow munchiemoms know deep down that their sons will never be women in the exact same way they are. It’s why they treat them like child prodigies or the strange child saints of history. Ordinary female daughters wouldn’t get a fraction of that raptured attention. Mums of boys who transition as young adults are generally really perplexed by it all, but might try to act supportive because they’ve been conditioned into with all the suicide baiting. There are loads and loads of posts on trans subreddits moaning about how their mum/dad/granny said something that ‘seems a bit terfy’ and it’s usually something really innocuous like asking a 6ft plus adult son to take the bins out because they are stronger than their middle aged mum.
5) It’ll make them paranoid.

Finally:
The only way they can defend against it is by listing all the trans ally stuff their mum has done for them, which will look utterly stupid as a response to a ‘Your mum’ joke.
They can’t even report you for calling their mum a bad name, because they used it first, so they’ll have to admit it’s a pejorative.

If they try a pathetic ‘No she isn’t’ just say ‘yes she is, I know her from Mumsnet’

If they say ‘My mum is dead’ just say, ‘Ah, sorry, thanks for the correction. I shouldn’t have said ‘Your mum IS a terf’ I should’ve said ‘Your mum WAS a terf. RIP Tervern Sister’

and then some obnoxious flower and heart emojis.

This ideology cannot cope with being laughed at. It needs utmost seriousness to survive.

Slothtoes · 05/02/2023 06:24

Those women are all just saying what they see.
Rape apology, rape appeasement, people who are pro-rape culture. Wolves dressed in sheep’s clothing. It’s all the same thing.

ManAboutTown · 05/02/2023 06:13

@Slothtoes - and funnily enouigh I find myself in lockstep with Germaine Greer , Julie Bindel, Rosie Duffield and JK Rowling on such matters

Slothtoes · 05/02/2023 06:08

And without even getting into the reality-denying authoritarian and ludicrously narcissistic solipsistic side of it, the practical effects on women and children of privileging male sexual rights and trying to normalise that are so stark and devastating that it’s in-plain-sight grooming on a societal-wide level. ‘OK groomer’ is apt.

They’re sexist, racist homophobes who are openly campaigning for male sexual access to girls and women and young boys- that’s the effect of men invading women’s spaces. Many of whom promoting this will also say justificatory things like ‘love has no age’. It’s openly noncy.
Just the campaign to remove safeguarding should make any decent person back away from this men’s sexual access campaign whatever veneer of sanctimonious social piety has been placed over it.

ManAboutTown · 05/02/2023 05:03

Transfascists

Needmoresleep · 05/02/2023 02:16

Dim.

Increasingly I am convinced that the PC wokerai are not very bright.

It’s fine to have your own views as long as you can think them through and defend them. We all have different experiences and reach different conclusions. The problem is not very bright people who believe in absolute rights and wrongs, call out those who don’t agree and see insults as effective debate.

No, not "Nicola".

Don't turn another female name in to an insult for a group of people. "Karen" is bad enough.

? I was referring to the poster called Nicola
