I'm a bit confused. I thought QT was live and it's scheduled to be on BBC1 after the news. Is it pre-recorded that some of you have already seen it and where is it shown?

I've set it to record as DH is already in bed and I don't trust myself to not shout at the telly.

I-player

Consufed · 02/02/2023 22:33

Lots of interrupting, transplaining and finger jabbing going on from IW.

It's been pointed out on Twitter that Bruce always corrects misinformation and yet did not correct IW's little pipe ups that they're a "biological woman."

nilsmousehammer · 02/02/2023 22:20

It is however quite nicely illustrating that the sympathetic years of 'yes yes of course you are' has simply escalated confusion and misbelief into these utterly batshit realms. It would have been kinder to have said years ago "No. No you are not a biological woman" because it's being said now, and has to be.

FOJN · 02/02/2023 22:14

I'm taking a break from it. I cannot believe IW is getting away with spouting such racist and homophobic nonsense and it's going unchallenged because IW is trans.

I've never had to tell anyone I'm a biological woman.

catandcoffee · 02/02/2023 22:14

I can't get live TV at the moment. Can you watch this live on iplayer ? ta

littlbrowndog · 02/02/2023 22:10

Oh was watching apprentice

Birdsweepsin · 02/02/2023 22:10

No-one on the panel, not even Willoughby, insisted that the rapist must be a woman, because they said so.

I think that is a significant shift.

I usually only last 10 minutes into QT before I shout at the telly and go to bed.

Is it worth a watch?

Pity JKR wasn’t on.

Yes purely to see Ella talking and drowning out IW trying to butt in.

WarriorN · 02/02/2023 22:07

Twitter already started to melt down; it's gonna go bonkers in an hour....!

NoFlowersForEmily · 02/02/2023 22:06

iPlayer littl

Boiledbeetle · 02/02/2023 22:06

littlbrowndog · 02/02/2023 22:00

WarriorN · 02/02/2023 22:06

WarriorN · 02/02/2023 21:58

It was nice to see so many men really clapping hard at all the terfy comments.

NoFlowersForEmily · 02/02/2023 21:57

Woman in yellow was also brilliant 👏
Wonder if she's here?
Was clear the audience were pretty terfy too.

WarriorN · 02/02/2023 21:57

Abbreviated argument.

Said that someone called India a transwoman on twitter. Which is akin to saying blackwoman and India proudly tweeted this in outrage and defence. And various other incarnations of that argument.

Chrysanthemum5 · 02/02/2023 21:04

I'm interested in Ian Murray's views - I've tried to discuss this with him and he's been full on TWAW and most marginalised in society and we just need to all be very kind etc.

Me too

NoFlowersForEmily · 02/02/2023 21:55

Ella is brilliant, even just her facial expressions say a lot 🙄
I saw her on something a while ago on the opposite side of a debate to Dr Jess Taylor and disagreed with her, think it was about upskirting laws, I got the impression she was speaking from a place of massive privilege which she probably is but good for her using that to speak truth on a big issue on a big platform.
It's nice to see a young woman speaking out against this nonsense.
Not surprising India felt it ok to shout over Ella and pull fake facts out his arse.

ReneBumsWombats · 02/02/2023 21:53

black woman is like a trans woman

India said that???

I can't even begin with how offensive that is.

WarriorN · 02/02/2023 21:51

I really wanted to hear someone say that in the U.K. only men can be convicted of rape.

Therefore "this individual" is a man.

Also India, "black woman is like a trans woman" is incredibly racist.

There is no subset of woman. Males are not women. There may be a subset of males who decide to get plastic surgery but ether still male.

19th century evolutionists used that argument to prove that humans descended from chimps, that 'black people were the closest.' Abhorrent and ignorant argument.

Same sex attraction is not the same as plastic surgery either. No comparison.

Sausagenbacon · 02/02/2023 21:41

EW and woman in yellow blouse were great, very heartening to see what support they got from the audience.

Melroses · 02/02/2023 21:40

NancyDrawed · 02/02/2023 21:26

How soon until IW rants on twitter about the BBC / the audience being transphobic?

I have to say I did feel a little bit sorry for IW at one point, when IW looked and sounded upset. And I am really not a fan of IW (to put it mildly). But it soon passed as IW kept on me, me, me-ing

But you have to remember that India has worked as a TV presenter/journalist and run a media Public Relations company, as well as many years as an activist, so in theory this television appearance should be a piece of cake.
