SNP encouraging protestors to wear masks to evade being identified and disrupts SfW event in Glasgow

An SNP minister has been accused of “reckless” behaviour after she publicised an attempt to disrupt a women’s rally which has already been threatened with violence by transgender rights activists.

Christina McKelvie, who is in a relationship with the SNP Justice Secretary Keith Brown, shared details of a “counter-protest” against an event in Glasgow on Sunday, which is being held by the gender critical Let Women Speak group.

The information spread by the equalities minister on her Twitter page denounced the feminist event as “transphobic” and warned it would include “hate speech”.

It suggested those attending a counter-protest wear face masks to keep their identities secret and linked past Let Women Speak events to white supremacy and endorsement of Hitler.

I amnot sharing this to make anyone who is going to Glasgow on 5th more anxious than they might be as it is already know there are plans for a counter protest.

I am sharing because (assuming its true) it is despicable that an elected representative should be encouraging this type of behaviour, which she illustrates as knowing it is wrong, by saying they should wear masks.

I dont know if there is a code conduct for MSPs but this just further illustrates that madness that seems to be happening. But doubt she will be censored.

There really does need to be some " accountability " taking place but it's definitely not JKR/KJK, or anyone else on our side of the fence that needs to be doing the accounting!

To give the news paper their due they have put counter protest in quotes.

But I am less worried about terminology than in an SNP minister apparently encouraging people to conceal their identity, which implies to me that they know what they are doing in unacceptable, otherwise they would have the courage of their convictions and be proud to be recognised.

I just cant make sense of how the SNP seems to have launched off into some other reality. If a Westminster MP had made such a suggestion about an event in London the fleet street media would be all over them and saying they should resign.

I am sure most people in Scotland dont think this is okay. But how is it that the SNP seem to think they are some sort of protected species that allows them to say and do what they want.

Have any of them even canvassed their constituents to find out what they think.
