Sturgeon getting an absolute grilling on Channel 4 News

I should imagine the clip will be doing the rounds on twitter shortly if it's not already, but their Scotland correspondant Ciaran Jenkins did a really good job in a brief interview with her when she was on a tour of a TV studio today. Raised the issue of Katie Dolatowski, and got her quite rattled trying to get her to justify her comments about transphobia and racism. Should be on about 8:15/8:20ish if you want to watch it on C4+1

SFW are going go have to bring back those little ‘nosegay’ bouquets to mask the stench of furries.

A posy for Posie!

The deposit return scheme is a way of cutting kerbside recycling and general waste pick up provided by your council.

While dumping the cost onto shops. How does it even work for people who use delivery services?
Councils will still need to pick up the recycle bins so no real cost saving. Or some will decide the deposit isn't worth the bother and start chucking stuff in the black landfill bin

WOS expose that one of the trans women who is very active, visible and feted in Scottish politics is most likely a serial abuser was important. To have such a person influencing policies that directly disadvantage female people is very bad and should be exposed.

Reading this latest expose, I agree the minister and the self-identified counter protest are a problem, not because they don't have the right to disagree and counter protest but because they are whipping up hate and increasing the risk of violence against KJK and SFW by misrepresenting them in order to silence them.

However I don't think pig guy is a problem. Seems like it's consensual. All he's doing is going to a convention for likeminded people. I don't think WOS are playing fair taking his posts and holding him up as a disgusting dangerous degenerate to throw shade on the minister and the counter protest when nothing in the guy's posts suggests he's even aware of it let alone planning to join. And (as one of the comments notes) the rules about washing, non-harassment etc are standard for conventions. It's not specific to this one, or to furries.

Our detractors accuse women standing against gender ideology of whipping up a bad faith moral panic. Normally they are wrong but in this case they'd have a point. We are, and must be, better than that, because unlike them and their constant need to create guilt by association, our position stands on its own merits.

Well, their responsible adult won't be there with them so someone has to remind them!

Hmm, perhaps it's a considered tactic to drive out the women at SFW? Just arrive and nauseate them with their malodorous selves, not a word uttered?

Can you imagine what the hotel with 1000 furries must smell 👃👃👃 like!

I imagine they'll be needing the extra deep deep deep clean of the hotel afterwards

Changing your name on your gas bill makes you a woman. That’s an interesting concept.

It's Nicolas fool proof way of a man proving they are a woman.

Nuts isn't it!

Of course if you change your name from John to Janice on your gas Bill THEN get done for rape your obviously the sex 'rapist' not woman. But if you rape and don't get caught then as your gas Bill says you are a woman.

MoirasSaggyBundles · 05/02/2023 08:53

The INCELS really have taken over the asylum.

MidsomerMurmurs · 02/02/2023 15:43

I’m not going to get into the individual circumstances of that particular individual’s claims to be a woman because I don’t have enough information about that

But Sturgeon’s right, isn’t she? She doesn’t know if the rapist has changed his name on his gas bill. If you don’t know that crucial information, it’s literally impossible to know the sex of the rapist.

Changing your name on your gas bill makes you a woman. That’s an interesting concept.

Next time I'll not bother.

All I got was a story about a man in Ghana. What's that got to do with Scotland?

To me deposit schemes make sense for bottles that will be reused.

A deposit scheme for bottles and cans that currently get put in a bin at you back door is daft.
If people cannot be bothered to recycle in the kitchen they are not going to bother carting stuff back to the shops to que up to put them in a bottle bank.
There is also a cost associated with these bottle banks to the shops, where are they recouping that cost, from the customer along with the 20p deposit.
Multipack bottles don't have bar codes- how do you scan them to get the money back?

It's a typical example of changing something that currently works reasonably well, with something that sounds good, but just a whole lot less effect.
Andimidas - my new word!

turbonerd · 04/02/2023 22:47

Sugarfree23 · 04/02/2023 15:00

@turbonerd in Germany and Scandinavia are the bottles actually reused or just recycled?

Barrs (Irn bru etc) stopped their reuse glass bottle scheme a couple of years ago as the scheme was becoming too costly. And plastic bottles were cheaper.

They used to be re-used. First only glass bottles and you could tell they were washed and worn after a while.
Then there were thick plastic bottles which also were washed and re-used; up to 25 times or some such. They were marked each time.
Now the plastic is thin and flimsy so they are crushed and melted down.

Metal cans are also recycled.
Glass goes in its own recycling with no «pawn».

@SinnerBoy I needed to look that one up - every day is a school day - but YES!

She doesn’t think things through, goes off making changes without seeing the down side. Then uses the Whip to push stuff through. Doesn't even listen to her own backbenchers.
The HoC need to be mindful they need to get Bills through HoL and for them to be robust.
Holyrood lacks that so so much stuff goes through without proper scrutiny.
