I should imagine the clip will be doing the rounds on twitter shortly if it's not already, but their Scotland correspondant Ciaran Jenkins did a really good job in a brief interview with her when she was on a tour of a TV studio today. Raised the issue of Katie Dolatowski, and got her quite rattled trying to get her to justify her comments about transphobia and racism. Should be on about 8:15/8:20ish if you want to watch it on C4+1

Fuck me Beetle. Do you take it out in your crocs, too? Shock

I may or may not have a special pair of crocs for that!

Just catching up on what I've missed.

Whispers

I don't recycle. I have one bin. They take it weekly.

Emotionalsupportviper · 05/02/2023 15:22

You are right @SinnerBoy

We've all suffered enough.

SinnerBoy · 05/02/2023 14:27

WON'T ANYBODY THINK OF THE INCELS?

I'd rather not, if it's all the same to you.

And all of those people who can't afford gas!

Trapped in the wrong gender FOREVER, through no fault of their own!

WON'T ANYBODY THINK OF THE INCELS?

This policy is definitely going to cause problems for parental-basement-dwellers…

They won’t have any bills in their own names.

Sad. Compo. Face.

Cailin66 · 05/02/2023 09:39

But what if you don't have gas and use coal, does that mean you can't be a woman because the coal man doesn't issue a bill.

Can you imagine what the hotel with 1000 furries must smell 👃👃👃 like!

I imagine they'll be needing the extra deep deep deep clean of the hotel afterwards

I'm just glad I don't have to empty the litter trays.

Emotionalsupportviper · 05/02/2023 13:16

Boiledbeetle · 05/02/2023 09:09

Why??????
Why?????
Why didn't I heed the words of a brave soul that had entered seen and backed out sharpish?

I CAN NEVER UNSEE THAT!

NEVER!!!!

If it's any consolation, it's the same here.

I could also have learned from someone else's mistake, but no. I had to be clever. I had to look for myself.

And now I will have to boil my eyeballs in Napisan. <boak>

Thank GOD we don't have an olfactory facility on our computers. I think if I'd SMELLED that, too, I would be a gibbering wreck.

Emotionalsupportviper · 05/02/2023 13:12

NicolaSturgeonsSOGIbottom · 05/02/2023 08:53

I’ll fish some cucumber slices out of the gin and tonic for your poor eyes!

😀

Thank you - but can you just leave them in the gin, I think I need it after that.

I would feel sorry for these pathetic blokes if they weren't doing so much damage to women and children

@Sugarfree23 there is a big cost reduction for councils; local authorities in the back of this scheme are justifying a big reduction in kerbside collections (general and recycling waste only being collected once a month is being talked about) further curtailing of recycling centres and reduction of staff.

We're already at once every 3 weeks.

This is another SNP scheme that sounds good on paper but when reality bites it'll disappear into obscurity and quietly dropped.

Boiledbeetle · 05/02/2023 09:06

You starting early? Or different time zone!

This shit is enough to drive anyone to gin for breakfast.

ResisterRex · 05/02/2023 12:56

A bottle is a jar when it says it is, of course!!

Shelefttheweb · 05/02/2023 12:45

Just thinking about the bottle stuff, does this include jars? If not, when is a bottle a jar? And if so, does this mean all jars will get 20p added to their price? Budget range pasta sauce? Baby food?

Workerbeep · 05/02/2023 12:44

Ours is every fortnight but I live rurally which may be a factor.

Sugarfree23 · 05/02/2023 12:40

Our recycling only gets picked up monthly anyway. Honestly if they make it more difficult people will endup chucking stuff in the black bin.

It does make me fear for the poor TW who choose unisex names. One of the ones who wanted to go to a woman's prison called himself Alex when he magicked into a woman. I mean, how would his phone bill reflect his real sex? Alex can me a man or woman's name. We need to recognise just how difficult these issues are for the poor white men.

Rainbowshit · 05/02/2023 11:33

Cailin66 · 05/02/2023 11:07

I hadn't thought about a phone bill. But it would be important in proving you have changed sex. Because in Scotland, in an amazing advancement in medical science, changing the name on your utility bill also changes a man into a woman. Truly Scotland is a place of wizarding magic.

That's why JK moved here. Scotland is a magical place. 😉

Won't someone think of the poor wee souls without a gas bill.

Presumably needing a lady-name on his utility bill ASAP is what kicked off Isla Bryson’s anger at BT…

Sugarfree23 · 05/02/2023 09:40

The shops have given a deadline of end of Feb to get all the details of how its going to work. In other words they still don't know - sound familiar?

It's another idea that sounds good in theory might encourage more recycling but when you actually think it through it will be a nightmare for everyone.

Taking the kerbside recycling that works reasonably well are turning it to shit! Like everything else she touches.

Cailin66 · 05/02/2023 09:39

Boiledbeetle · 05/02/2023 08:53

It's Nicolas fool proof way of a man proving they are a woman.

Nuts isn't it!

Of course if you change your name from John to Janice on your gas Bill THEN get done for rape your obviously the sex 'rapist' not woman. But if you rape and don't get caught then as your gas Bill says you are a woman.

But what if you don't have gas and use coal, does that mean you can't be a woman because the coal man doesn't issue a bill.

While dumping the cost onto shops. How does it even work for people who use delivery services?
Councils will still need to pick up the recycle bins so no real cost saving. Or some will decide the deposit isn't worth the bother and start chucking stuff in the black landfill bin

It’s a bit weird to do it now when online shops/home delivery is so popular! Would’ve made sense 10 plus years ago when people could drop off used bottles in the same trip as buying groceries.

My local Tesco has had one of these machines for ages but it rejects bottles bought anywhere else and I can’t remember whether a particular 2l vimto squash was bought at Tesco or Quality Save so we only ever used it once and had to bring half the bottles home again 🤦‍♀️

Has the Scottish scheme got anything in it for elderly/disabled non drivers? Surely they don’t expect those with mobility issues to schlep their empties? What about very rural areas?
