I wish I'd known about the pub :(

Babdoc · 06/02/2023 13:01

Thank you, YesSheCan! DD had a ball in Glasgow, met Mr Menno (who let her practise her Dutch) got Glinner’s autograph, and selfies with KJK as well.
She doesn’t let her autism get in the way of campaigning- if anything it makes her more singleminded.

YesSheCan · 06/02/2023 12:15

@Babdoc I've just watched your daughter speak. She was brilliant ❤

ILikeDungs · 06/02/2023 12:10

There were a lot of men there which made me very happy. Reality is important for all of us and we need men to understand the issues.

Not so keen when they were standing in front of me though, I'm a shorty :)

More signs

FemaleAndLearning · 06/02/2023 12:00

I travelled to Glasgow on Saturday with my new friends and teen daughter. The event was brilliant. We could hear the speeches for a change! The atmosphere was fab. Most people I spoke to were very aware of the issues and all had signed the Make the equality Act Clear petition.
The speeches were diverse and covered single sex spaces in prisons, hospitals, sports, rape crisis centres, gyno wards. Women sharing their heart wrenching stories whilst the TQ plus people were singing and dancing. Remember they were there to stop women speaking.

The police had separated them from us with a big space. But whilst they were setting up and arriving we saw all their usual disruptive tactics like megaphones.

A fe couldn't help but come right up to our barrier with their signs. One female grabbed a sign off a woman and ripped it then charged around with her top off showing her scars from having her breasts removed shouting "I'm trans and I'm happy". I didn't see this but gave watched it in twitter.

Given the content of the women speakers the protests against us was quite vile. They had obviously been told to behave but I maintain if they had been allowed to be closer to us they would not have been in such a party mood.

I loved my road trip and it was great to be part of history and I know that for everyone there there were 20 plus back home supporting us.

Women will speak and now we are ring heard ( though must if the journalism doesn't mention anything about what was actually spoken).

The differences in the messages of the signs is very clear.

A really fab event. ‘Gaystapo’ sign carrying idiot 🤦‍♀️ was challenged by women & made to leave as you can see here: twitter.com/missbunnywarren/status/1622289237012881411?s=61&t=cvas8ztJkFPJ9D3_jipQFA

He's been identified

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 06/02/2023 11:34

I think both protests took up similar amounts of space, it's just that the MRA counter protest had loads of space between people for dancing etc, whereas the women's rights speakers crowd was very densely packed.

Beowulfa · 06/02/2023 11:29

Glad you all had a good time and came home safe. Some fantastic banners there.

Maybe we can fund some gardening by taking out shares in shit hair dye companies?

ILikeDungs · 06/02/2023 11:27

And these are 12:20 and one o'clock. Everyone very tightly packed as you can see, often l did not have room to take a single step forward or back. I think the web cam misrepresents the numbers, l did wander over to the other end of the square and they had room to prance about

Ah yes I'm with you now. Like describing people as 'blacks' and not black people or people of colour. A way of objectifying people.

yes.

And objectified people are easier to vilify is someone's mind. Easier to believe they 'deserve it', easier to treat as non-human.

Again, this has been discussed with them numerous times now over numerous threads. Including the connection with their dismissal of violent acts against women they disagree with.

Abhannmor · 06/02/2023 11:10

Helleofabore · 06/02/2023 09:30

I am not complaining about 'gender critical' Abhannmor, I have reported for the way it is used.

Marg uses it as a dehumanising label - by using it as a noun not as an adjective. The equivalent is the 'transes' or 'transgenders'. I know on other platforms many people do it, but it is not allowed here and I don't know if any regular posters would even use it if it was.

Marg uses 'gender criticals' or 'gender crits' and dehumanises people they don't agree with. They then laugh at things thrown or sprayed at women because to Marg they are not human, you can see this through their writing. If you describe people in non-human terms, violence against them is all too easy to dismiss.

This has been discussed with Marg for months now. Marg knows exactly what they are doing.

Waitwhat23 · 06/02/2023 11:09

There's plenty of evidence that women at the event yesterday asked the man with the homophobic sign to leave, reported him to stewards, blocked the sign with flags and also alerted the Police in regards to the sign.

Where's the evidence that TRA's addressed the issue of the 'decapitate terfs' sign during the previous event? I've not seen any and you'd think they'd be shouting it from the rooftops to dissociate themselves from it, if they actually disapproved of it.

BezMills · 06/02/2023 11:05

there's a lot of crying "nazi" going on. The furries think their maws are nazis for wanting to talk about women's rights, this weapon with his Gaystapo sign (who knows what goes on his heid full of broken bottles, I couldn't even guess and don't want to)

It's a bit Rik from The Young Ones if you ask me.

BlackForestCake · 06/02/2023 11:04

Gaystapo is ambiguous. What does it mean? I assumed it was a gay bloke protesting about the increasing authoritarianism in the "LGBT" organisations. Not how I would have worded it, but whatever.

None of the fringe cranks made any impact, because nobody would have known they were there if they hadn't tweeted about it. None of them called for violence against anyone.

Quite different from "decapitate terfs", which is a concrete threat, was made by a TRA in the midst of their movement and which they all thought was fine.

I used to go to left demos all the time and there would be two guys with placards saying North Korea should have the right to have nuclear weapons. That had absolutely nothing to do with the general character of the demonstrations.

BoreOfWhabylon · 06/02/2023 10:59

That's interesting terryleather. I thought the police had announced that the meeting would be under close observation for evidence of hate crime.

Wrt the "Gaystapo" sign, one of the women I was with reported it to the cops who were there, and as far as I'm aware others there asked him to remove it but he didn't but after awhile it disappeared - dunno if the guy left/or was made to leave.

Sounds like a random arsehole then?
(as opposed to the Decapitate Terfs arsehole who is part of their inner circle)

Yes, sly digs which mostly miss!

Has Mittens the Tuk Tuk Warrior been identified yet?

Just in case she hasn't

It was the T that piggybacked into the LGB and insisted it was one big LGBTQIA2S+++ rainbow hued borg so while that sign isn’t cool and I definitely do not approve of it, you can see how it came about. Gay was used as an umbrella term for decades (‘gay scene’ ‘gay pride’ ‘gay press’ ‘gay interest’ etc) and then Stonewall made the gay umbrella so big that it sheltered all the paedo-academics, furries. adultbabies & sissy fetishists under it.
That Lesbians were the first to sound the TQ alarm and that after women&girls, children-likely-to-grow-up-to-be-gay & adult gay men are the groups most affected can be obscured by that ruddy giant umbrella. That’s why LGB Alliance/Lesbian Strength/Gay Men’s Network are all so necessary.
Lesbians were first to the terfy table, then the straight mums (alerted by their lesbian mum friends via mum networks) then the free speech absolutists (some of whom happen to be gay) and now there are ever increasing numbers of gay men joining the public debate. When the backlash comes we need to stand firm with those who stood with us.
Clive and Dennis of The Queen’s Speech have talked about how hard it is going to be to repair the rupture that the TQ has caused. I’ll dig out the appropriate link to avoid getting it wrong but basically, they suspect that gay men who have taken up a strong position either way might be estranged from each other for many years, perhaps for a generation.

I report Pie now. Had enough of their nonsense, smears and outright lies.

I've always chosen to not report the troublesome posters.

However.... The decapitate terfs sign was my limit.

I've pressed report quite a number of times since then.

I treat it like the pissed guy propping up the bar in the pub. You ignore the first couple of slurred comments/vague insults as you just want to enjoy your evening.
Then when pissed bloke doesn't get the required fawning response he ups the anti. At the point where people would be asking the landlord to sort him out or throw him out I press the button to report.

people who have experienced any sort of abusive relationships will recognise the spite and vitriol of a person losing their power over you.

The insults from some have become rather nasty in the last few weeks as they see the public wake up to the shit.
