Evan Davis has just finished the PM programme. We had articles on the effect of Instagram on the restaurant trade, on Chat gpt and on wearing shorts in the winter.
Guess how long the article on Isla Bryson / Adam Graham ran for ...

I think you're being unfair branding all BBC lax because of Evan - who I can't listen to on this subject. He's definitely TWA but Ros Atkins & Justin Webb definitely aren't. Webb's take down of of Ben Cohen from Pink News back in June 21 made his "unbiased" opinion v clear as do his regular retweets of JKR & others. He's always icily polite & calm about it too.
Justin Webb & Ben Cohen

My friend has been by this afternoon for a catch up. First thing she said "Did you listen to PM last night? That weasel Evan Davis didn't even mention the SNP rapist scandal!!"

And this friend is influenced by her DD's "how does it hurt you?" and "why can't you just be kind?" And yet she recongnised that this story is important and must be told. It's not just me. It's not just us. Chuffed, I was.

highame · 27/01/2023 09:14

A good piece on Outside Source last night. Ros Atkins is good

He doesn't have editorial control. He may have influence but not control.
A newsroom doesn't work like that. Which is worse in a way because it means there's a whole editorial structure ignoring the issues.

That said I can't listen to him doing an piece about trans issues. He's just not giving it enough intellectual welly.

This. It’s always so exasperating to listen to - no real substance to any discussions, just poor minority trans people trying to quietly live their lives. He never acknowledges the complexity of it all.

Whatthechicken · 27/01/2023 09:01

For two episodes now, Question Tine has avoided the issue. It’s of huge public interest and a constitutional crisis and they have purposefully not covered it.

Couple of minutes? Or did he get an AI version of Plato to say it's all ok again (which they did earlier this week)

I thought that was absolutely excruciating- ED’s hopeful little voice asking if the AI text - which was a bland sort of ‘be kind’ thing - was actually showing us what Einstein would have thought about trans issues. Presumably angling for massive scoop of ‘Einstein would have believed TWAW!’.

(The answer was no, and if I remember correctly, that the AI-generated text probably reveals more about the person entering the prompt)

We listen to PM as a family, it's on as the kids do homework, I cook and we eat. No wonder they think I'm totally awful when Evan's misogynist view is what they are hearing. I detest the way he does the half laugh as he asks a question to indicate he looks down on his interviewee.

Ritasueandbobtoo9 · 27/01/2023 08:41

I’ve switched to listening to Times radio. Evan Davis /BBC radio 4 are partial, misogynist, biased and have their agenda. They hate women particularly older women who stray from their agenda which is to push cultural revolution and eventually break down any barrier to men freely accessing children for sex and silence women so we are never listened to. That is what is happening here.

I have written several times to complain about him.

He is very trans women are women, trans women are vulnerable, women are mean.

BUT he is also incredibly weak on everything else.

PM used to be a great show with great brains looking into everything.

This man wants to be "hail fellow, well met!", let's all get along, and now have PM Lite as Lite can be. No intellectual heft at all.

After 25 dedicated years I don't listen any more.

And all because of Evan!

Mollyollydolly · 27/01/2023 00:31

Can't believe it wasn't on Question Time. What cowards they are. I don't believe for one moment there weren't tonnes of questions on it.

Missing Eddie Mair on PM. He'd have gone up one side and down the other of this issue.

Agree.

These days, BBC news is a joke

CriticalCondition · 27/01/2023 00:07

Nothing on Question Time either. Newscast has a few minutes to go but I'm not holding my breath.

MoirasSaggyBundles · 26/01/2023 23:15

Nothing on Newsnight either. Very long item on the sugar tax.

I completely disagree with this. He's a gay man. He knows a man from a woman.

Yes he is a gay man. And some gay men, having no sexual 'use' for women, see us as as nothing. (Not all gay men, obviously - but some.)

It would seem Davis may be one such.

You are half right. He is a gay man. However he has made it very clear that he believes transwomen are women so has no real notion of what a woman is. But yeah, pretty sure he would have no truck with a transman, go figure.

Evan Davis is totally up to the gills with the koolaid.

N4ish · 26/01/2023 23:06

The incredibly boring shorts piece just went on and on, complete waste of airtime on a busy news day.

Clymene · 26/01/2023 22:59

Evan Davis is an absolute disgrace. Sometimes I wonder how we live in a world where such outright misogyny is not just accepted but rewarded.

For anyone not willing to click the link: Evan Davis - £270,000 - £274,999

And he gets to decide what news we hear

My response from the BBC was (paraphrased) "Sorry that you are probably old"

MichaelFabricantWig · 26/01/2023 22:30

News at 10 referred to the rapist as a transgender woman who committed the crimes “when she was a man”.

I am awaiting my response from the BBC to my complaint about BBC lunchtime news on Tuesday which referred to the rapist as “a woman”

Remind me how much he earns to NOT talk about women's SS spaces in Scotland? I know l must sound obsessed by now but really, WTAF

Evan Davies is very partial luvvy up to his neck in males who love to rape women.

but “Of course he is totally impartial” “in the same way that as anybody who knew Jimmy Saville was totally oblivious to the fact that he in front of their eyes was abusing vulnerable children.”

Cut from true BBC cloth.

Weaved from a web of lies, cured with with a pinch of salt and stitched so tightly so that from the outside everything seems fine.

ILikeDungs · 26/01/2023 22:18

He's loving those men in shorts though
