A woman has been found guilty of raping two women when she was a man. Happened in Scotland. She hasn’t been sentenced yet - but where will she serve her sentence? In the womens prison?!
This is going to mean some serious discussions and tough times for the Scottish government. But it was surely only a matter of time before something like this happened.

My frustration is how every single pro-trans public figure is steadfastly ignoring this. Just fucking answer us!!!!!

They won't, because the core of their belief is that this is right, and just, and anything that happens to those women in that prison at the hands of this life-wrecking, violent male is perfectly justified in the name of their religion.

They have limited guts to say this out loud and face up to it. Or what it's based on: which is a belief that males are valuable and females are cannon fodder. Or admit that it demonstrates fixed sex based thinking which means they know that the sole reason they permit the male into a women's prison is because the male is male .

Blood on their hands. Literally.

And it is ending for me any belief that anywhere in existence is a naice, quiet, rational TQ+ group who don't hate women and support women-destroying male supremacism. There are only the extremists: there are no other voices in the corridors of power or in the press. None.

There's a report saying that he'll probably go into the segregation wing, but a review must be held, in case their feelings are hurt. There are still women in segregation. What about them?

caringcarer · 25/01/2023 01:20

Hope this woman with a penis goes to men's prison.

No, it’s not palatable - in fact it’s a horrific thought, but if it’s the only way to show the SNP/Green Govt that we’re not taking this lying down then so be it. Hopefully there will be a legal challenge to this Bill and they will be forced to back down though.

Totally agree. Northern Scotland here, There is no good choice here but I’ll be voting Conservative because as a woman I simply cannot support SNP/Green in any way.

Voting Conservative sticks in my craw, too - but they are the only one's who seem to be recognising women as a biological class at the moment.

I would love to see all of these "woke" MPs lose their seats over this, but then we'd have the Tories in forever.

I don’t think we would have them forever.
Most parties will do anything to get into power even if it means doing a U turn on policies.
My hope is the next election would send a clear message and hopefully that would push for change within other parties.

As part of her extensive consultation, did Nicola speak to female prisoners? Ie the people most clearly affected by all of this. Women without liberty. Nicola is ultimately their custodian.

I would like Nicola to acknowledge her responsibility and hear what these women have to say. Locking a vulnerable women up with a rapist clearly falls within the category of “cruel and usual”. It is inhumane, and I cannot respect any politician from any party who supports this.

Off topic: Another blinder from the Mail’s picture editor. A picture is worth a thousand words. Over the past five years or so the Mails pictures haveoften contradicted the convolutions that press regulators force journalists into.

The Scottish Prison Service certainly didn't bother to speak to female prisoners before deciding policy -

'As the review is carried out, prison leaders say they will consult with advocates, female inmates, prison officers and the general public in response to criticism that they failed to consult these groups when the original policy was put in place in 2014. At that time, the SPS spoke only with transgender activists as it worked to improve the “working and living environment by ensuring it is free of any transphobic and homophobic behaviour.”

The SPS spokesman told The Times that “one of the groups we will be particularly keen to consult is the female prison population, who have not been specifically consulted about this before.”

What a depressing state of affairs. The only party that seems to be willing to stand up to this nonsense is the same party that will probably put the final nail in the coffin of the NHS if we re-elect them.

I've said for years that voting in a GE has become a matter of choosing which party is the least shit. This seems to plunge us to new depths.

This.

It's now a case of 'I don't want any of you near power, but which of you bastards will fuck things up the least, and block more dangerous bastards getting into the driving seat'

What a bloody decade.

Vebrithien · 24/01/2023 22:30

Righto.

"... therefore a rapist is a person with a penis.
This rapist....

Was partially included to make sure I could refer to the criminal as a rapist, and also ensure that I used no pronouns, in relation to the criminal.

Plbrookes · 24/01/2023 21:41

"Our laws still state in the UK that rape is unconsented penetration with a penis, therefore a rapist is a male with a penis."

Well, that's only true if you think a person with a penis is necessarily male, which is the point of contention ...

Not a point of contention to me, but if our Leaders can't decide and define what a woman is, then we will have to settle for "penis-people spaces" and "non-penis-people spaces" for now. There is no way to properly define womanhood other than biologically - everything else is dependent upon "feelings" and circular arguments.

It's just unbelievable that we have got to this. UNBELIEVABLE

Do people really need educating about sex these days?! Women don't have cocks so the penis can't have belonged to a woman. It must have belonged to a man since they're the only sex that are have cocks.

It’s a good thing (from my point of view) that I’m not as fragile a little flower as trans people are said to be. I may be a bit of a cock sometimes, I admit. Btw I’m as outraged as SinnerBoy about the description of this rapist as a woman, and about his being held where he is. And of course even more outraged art what he did.

If they allow him into Cornton Vale, it makes you question what is the point in having separate prisons.

It makes you wonder would women be safer in with hardened gangsters who actually have some respect.

You're not actually far off given the much higher proportion of sexual offenders in TIM prisoners v male prisoners.

nilsmousehammer · 24/01/2023 21:47

If the issue was the safety of male prisoners with TQ+ identities then the answer is TQ+ specific units.

But that isn't the issue.

The issue is the entitlement of male people to be provided with female humans as a resource. And for the female people to be regarded as subhuman resources, where loss of privacy, dignity, safety and being raped is seen as worth it by politicians if it means a male sex offender has a happier time in prison and said politician can feel good about their piety.

How do these bastards sleep at night? How sick do you have to be to think this is in any way justifiable?

It might be the only way just to get the changes done.
I was a lifelong Libdem voter till all this started. Not any more.
Kate Forbes is my MSP and I actually don’t know how she sleeps at night. I know she’s on maternity leave at the moment but she’s still an SNP member.

I'm sure it was being said at the time of the GRR being shoved through that Kate Forbes was due back in January. She might be fancying a longer maternity leave to avoid this shitshow mind you!

I am going to send the below message to my MP, who completely dismissed my concerns about the GRR, when I emailed her. Not in Scotland, but I'm dammed if I'm going to let her dismiss women's safety like that.

This biological man has been found guilty of raping two women.

(Insert full length, pink leggings photo)

Please note the uncropped photograph of this person, which clearly shows their male genitalia. This was used to rape. Our laws still state in the UK that rape is unconsented penetration with a penis, therefore a rapist is a male with a penis.

This rapist is now held in the Scottish female prison.

Do you believe that this is right?

Please note that this individual made the choice to "transition" after their initial court appearance.

Why would this rapist prefer to be in the female estate?
Because of their "gender"? (As such, gender is undefined in law)
Because they will have an easier time than in the male estate?
Because there is free access to vulnerable women?

What about how the women in that prison feel? They cannot escape from a violent, rapist. Do they have the right to request to move to a different prison, as their prison is no longer single sex?

Just waiting now for the legal definition of rape to be altered…
For those not sure about voting, we must. View it as tactical but it’s more important than ever to get your X in the box when the time comes. You have to decide what is the most important thing and go from.

@abittoofar not in the UK. Rape is specifically with a penis.

I didn't realise the law was different in England I just read this
