All he (and the entire TQ+ political lobby) need to do is to go through his speech and apply everything he says equally to biological women. That would make a hell of a lot of this go away overnight.

I look at the girls around me transitioning out of their adolescent struggles in a really rather pointless way that will probably get left behind as they grow older but with distressing physical damage, and the bravery of my friend who is holding her family together while her spouse comes out as nonbinary and blames her for getting married at all (pink hair is the new red sports car tbh) and I think Owen just hasn't a bloody clue. About any of it. About us or even himself.

I was married to two men who were too clever for therapy, and it was tiring tbh. I'd put OJ in that category.

The benign interpretation is that he identified with (yes, the old use of the term!) the trans cause, given his possible negative experiences of how gays were/are treated, and because he didn't spend much time thinking it through (women tend to be invisible to a lot of people as something else than bit players, supporters, and resources), he is now tangled in the web he himself wove.

Wee OJ sounds like a fire and brimstone preacher, railing against non believers for rejecting Jesus. That’s a really good point I have never once seen him engage in live debate about this with even the most inoffensive yet respected GC women - like Maya or Helen.

He won't engage with anyone who dissents in even the mildest way, about anything he says. He's got millions blocked on Twatter. He certainly won't engage on this, as he knows he'd be comprehensively humiliated.

Rousing, galvanising speeches aren't ever about attacking other people and trying to make them feel bad. 'We will fight them on the beaches' was about the courage and indomnitable spirit of the Brits, not how rubbish the Germans were. 'I have a dream' was about a beautiful, positive vision of harmony, not about 'burning' your enemy.

'You're going to lose and everyone hates you' just isn't terribly inspiring for the Right Side of History.
