I thought MPs were bound by some standards of behaviour?

Yesterday the leader of the SNP at WM called his peers 'rabid gammon', which was shocking, but what I found more disturbing was Llloyd Russell-Moyle's verbal attack on Miriam Cates (clip above).

I actually found his behaviour frightening and alarming, and can't imagine how it must feel to have that venom directed at you by a colleague - let alone the slanderous accusations made.

Is it possible to make a complaint to the Labour Party about his behaviour?

Has Starmer reprimanded the squeaky joke yet?

DevilinaCardigan · 18/02/2023 20:03

I live in his constituency and we had the canvasers around today. Not LRM himself, but I did tell the guy that I was really disappointed in his behaviour and felt that it was inappropriate.
I mentioned a few other things regarding self id and Labour policy. TBF the guy listened politely but I may have off loaded on him a bit. He did take some notes so I hope it feeds back.

Ritasueandbobtoo9 · 18/02/2023 11:43

Of course he isn’t going to respond. Why bother interacting with a woman. He only has contempt for us.

CryptoFascistMadameCholet · 18/02/2023 11:31

What a wanker!

are you going to resend? I would consider cc’ing in some extras - leader of the local council, your local ward cllrs, the Chair, Secretary and Treasurer of Oily Moley’s CLP…

jhgfds · 18/02/2023 11:20

hello all, just to update you, Lloyd RM didn't reply to my complaint. I got the auto reply saying it had been received, and that replies were usually sent within three weeks, just over three weeks ago now.

So he's chosen to ignore it and not bother replying!!

PomegranateOfPersephone · 03/02/2023 20:46

Yeah that Miriam Cates interview was fantastic, thanks for the share. She seems like that rare thing, a politician of intelligence and integrity. How come the Tories seem to have more women MPs in this category than the other parties put together? Miriam made so many excellent points.

Something odd happened with that tweet, looks to be deleted now. I think this covers it though

I'm really disappointed with Thangam I've met her a couple of times and thought she was a decent sort. But this does confirm to me that there is a party wide line on this issue that many are too scared to cross.

"I don't know why Rosie has chosen to express her views"

From another Labour MP(!)

I don’t vote Tory but Miriam is a star. She and Rosie put everyone else in the HoC to shame with their honesty and passion.

If you’re reading this, Miriam: thank you 💐

Tonia Antoniazzi and Karin Smyth are another two MPs who speak up for women. There are more, some in the HoLs also. Others agree but are still keeping under the radar sadly; a bad state of affairs.

ScrollingLeaves · 02/02/2023 09:00

Thank you for that, she speaks so well and has put forward the reasons for the primacy of the importance of ‘sex ‘ and our ‘social contract’ around that exceptionally clearly and reasonably.

She also explains how the safeguarding of children has been affected by this ideology in a persuasive, logical way.

Really she is a revelation in how fluently and lucidly she argues about these issues.

If anyone reading here has not yet done so, you may like to take a look at this petition to Parliament to update the Equality Act to make clear that the protected characteristic ‘sex ‘ is biological.

Keir needs to get a grip on this issue. Where is he?

"Labour is under growing pressuree_ to discipline Lloyd Russell-Moyle"

They disciplined Kim Johnson quick enough, didn't they? But women don't count in the LP, as we should know by now.

The longer they take to deal with LRM the more women won't vote for them again.

They are showing that they just don't give a fuck about women. Even when the reality is there on bloody camera. In parliament!

Just putting this here because the other thread has dropped down the list and I think it deserves more attention. Miriam Cates has done a fantastic interview on Spiked.

That’s so good, so clear.

I love the way he lets her say everything and I love the way she is able to make ideas, which can seem a bit nebulous, like women’s innate fear of men and the social contract being broken, into really concrete, solid arguments.

I think her superpower is avoidance of emotionalism. Very practical. She is like a snow plough powering through all the cloying and confusing #bekind, most vulnerable, etc, args.

She also says that she thinks you shouldn’t be able to change your birth certificate.

Top woman.

Ritasueandbobtoo9 · 02/02/2023 07:01

A nonce is a bloke who sexually abuses children. Usually convicted of it.

Lots of men like children and are not nonces.

Who voted this man in? He is a dangerous extremist.

Person who likes children

Tallisker · 02/02/2023 00:36

What does 'nonce' mean?

Good Lord. Does Labour do any due diligence at all?

"Many of us are concerned by the sexualisation of children within gender ideology.

Here are materials from ‘Socialist Educational International’, stating: “children are sexual beings from their birth onwards”.

I note that a contributor to this document is Lloyd Russell-Moyle."

This will be the three little trusting games stuff I presume I've just checked back, in in 50 posts a page so page 7

While working there, Rusell-Moyle helped produce an educational toolkit, entitled Rainbow Resources. Rainbow Resources, the introduction says, is the product of ‘working on sexuality and gender issues with children to curb heteronormative and cisnormative attitudes before they have a chance to be fully developed’. The aim of all this couldn’t be more clear: to inculcate trans ideology in very young kids.

What’s more, the toolkit says that gender ideology should be promoted to children regardless of what their parents might think. There is even a section in Rainbow Resources on ‘overcoming resistance’ from parents when ‘educating’ children on sexuality and gender. It recommends taking children on residential ‘camps’ to allow them to ‘digest’ information before going home to their parents. This sounds more like indoctrination than education. It sounds cultish.

Fucking hell. Plus 'working on sexuality with children'.

No wonder he's so bloody fuming that women are forensically taking this all apart

SinnerBoy · 01/02/2023 23:43

Hmm. Sending young children to indoctrination camps.

Who could object?

Boiledbeetle · 01/02/2023 23:39

Bloody hell the man is more deranged than we realised

Boiledbeetle · 01/02/2023 23:37

Or even L RM
