Complications from trans surgery!

I know it's a daily mail article but I can't help thinking. We only ever hear positive stories but the figures tell us this. I really hope the men and woman are getting the support they need from these complications. 🥺

Half of trans surgery patients suffer pain, sexual issues years later mol.im/a/11629421 via dailym.ai/android

It is my understanding that the older M to F self ID transitioners generally don't have any hormone or surgical intervention. It is the younger people who are encouraged to have surgery and hormones. I honestly don't think teenagers are able to make these life changing decisions.

If these young men are on sm, they are vulnerable to being victims of 'sissyfication' (Jesus, this is insane I sound like a fucking conspiracy theorist). It's a fetish, the older guys get off on it.

Bet you're all glad you hid the old nasty feminist board now. We've been highlighting the issues for years.

Also, for the most part, the Surgeons and pharmaceutical companies are not the bad guys here. Those campaigning for trans ‘rights’ are highly militant and litigious. Politicians, medics etc are walking on egg shells!

I can't say I agree with this at all. These medics cannot be forced into performing experimental surgery. What about the Drs in the US advertising it?

littlelid · 16/01/2023 22:31

If its NHS they must tell them the chances of what might go wrong and what they will end up with though?

EdgeOfACoin · 16/01/2023 22:30

This thread will be deleted or pushed onto the feminism boards very quickly.

AlisonDonut · 16/01/2023 22:30

The Yeet the Teets surgeon/monster in the USA doesn't have medical negligence insurance so can't be sued.

I understand you have been following this. But some of us are new to this and we don't always understand the physical consequences

Keep asking the questions!! There is a reason you haven't heard about this - discussion is censored or completely banned from discussion on many sites, Mumsnet is one of the only ones to allow honest discussion and even here we have rules we have to follow and words that are banned. There are whole news outlets which will not publish these things such as the Guardian or the BBC on the basis that it's transphobic to discuss. You will be accused of transphobia even to worry about the people going though these surgeries and that is enough to make many people keep their concerns to themselves if they can get fired for transphobia.

And yes, there are people getting fired from jobs and losing work because of accusations of transphobia.

Yes this seems to be broadly true. What could be driving that disparity I wonder? 🤔

"Of the 80 trans women sampled in the Canadian study, almost 54% reported ongoing pain up to two years after their vaginoplasty surgery. Many had more than one symptom, which included vaginal dryness, numbness, malodor and issues with the wound's healing" Heartbreaking that the down side to these procedures is not fully explained to those seeking these type of surgeries. Other European studies I have read report similar issues. The only people that appear to be benefitting from these largely experimental surgeries are the surgeons who financially benefit and of course the pharmaceutical companies that benefit from these males being on lifelong cross sex hormones and other meds for the complications that usually come with that medical regime.

I don’t think we can assume that potential problems are not explained by the Surgeons. Potential negative outcomes are explained to those wanting cosmetic surgery, but people don’t listen. They want what they want and decide it won’t happen to them. Also, for the most part, the Surgeons and pharmaceutical companies are not the bad guys here. Those campaigning for trans ‘rights’ are highly militant and litigious. Politicians, medics etc are walking on egg shells!

PoochPalace · 16/01/2023 22:28

As this isn’t a space I understand I can’t get my head around it - the surgery and risks I mean. When surgeons first pioneered a heart transplant say, or stem cell treatment, there is research, medical due diligence and a strong element of peer review until protocols etc. are developed. This might be more niche but all ‘pioneering’ procedures start this way. It seems whatever someone’s personal belief on the operation itself these patients are being failed in their medical care. I’m just shocked and v naive no doubt.

One of the saddest and most surreal things I heard was a woman who was caring for an elderly transwoman.

He was suffering from dementia and kept forgetting he had transitioned. He became distressed that his penis was missing. His healthcare worker was in danger of being disciplined for misgendering him.

changeme4this · 16/01/2023 22:27

Long time ago now, but I read a bio on someone who had undergone various trans procedures, and that person said nothing would have talked them out of it, and was then having some reversals done...

This is a computer-generated animation that shows the surgical process.

Shocking.

When you get MPs like Lisa Nandy banging on about getting treatment for her 'trans child' constituent, this is where she wants her constituent to end up, age 18.

Remember that.

See response by previous poster but I think you've found the entrance to the rabbit hole, once you start there is no way to stop yourself falling.

Don't Google nullification surgery whatever you do.

I just did 😱🤯

TheKeatingFive · 16/01/2023 22:25

This woman advertises these procedures to teens on TikTok. She also, apparently, operates without insurance so she can't be sued.

She refers to cutting breasts off young girls as 'yeeting the teets'

They will not be able to have children. Males will no longer have testicles and females won’t have vaginas after surgery.

Not true, many male female to male trans people don’t have bottom surgery and they can have children if they keep their internal reproductive organs.

I saw a Tesco blue token fundraiser for them. That's ok?

Take it up with tesco if its an issue for you. Presumably some people are ok with it if they are putting tokens in.

Wanderingowl · 16/01/2023 22:22

Last year when the whole commotion about Kiwi Farms was happening I took a look at the forums to judge them for myself. Without getting into what KF is like, I ended up on a thread where posts from other parts of the internet from people who had these surgeries are collected. And OMFG, it's horrific. I honestly believe that if these photographs and personal descriptions of the aftermath of these surgeries were put together as mainstream news, these surgeries would be halted immediately and banned after an investigation. They are terrifying.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 16/01/2023 22:21

I hope this thread is allowed to stand. This information needs to be in the public domain. This is where it ends for some tiny kids whose parents 'socially transition' them because a little boy likes dressing up or a little girl wants to have short hair and play with trains.

One of the many things that's wrong here is that a vagina is not just a hole for a man to penetrate during sex. It's a tube of muscle connecting the womb to the outside world and most of us were born through one. Telling a male that this surgically created fistula is equivalent to the amazing natural vagina is grotesque.

If you have the money you pay for laser hair removal pre op by hair removal is not part of the NHS package as far as I know.

It probably should be

endofthelinefinally · 16/01/2023 22:20

Aside from all the horrific butchery inflicted on these kids, the worst thing in my view is the dangerous effects of cross sex hormones. Teenaged girls being tipped into menopause, osteoporosis, heart disease, potential uterine cancer 30 years too early.
Young men at risk of stroke and cancer.
I know a young M to F person who died of a massive stroke at 40. The cross sex hormones appear to have been a significant factor.
You never get over the loss of a child.
Parents are told that they must support transition or their child will kill themselves. They are not told that these treatments increase the chance of their children dying prematurely.
I have lost a child.
I would not wish it on anyone.

Angliski · 16/01/2023 22:20

They’re mutilating their bodies and are left in agony. So very sad that people consider this an appropriate thing to do to oneself. Really sad.

clutchingatpearls · 16/01/2023 22:00

Yes, but also cross-dressing (counted a 'trans' by Stonewall) is a sexual fetish and they like their penises.

Well yes, I know, but there will be many who want to go about their lives who will be terrified of the surgery, but may be (I have always said SHOULD be) denied access to female spaces because they have a penis.
