I can only imagine 'Charlie ' wanted to use the accessible toilets because they feared that the typical bigoted MN's feminists would make them ferl uncomfortable if they used the ladies.

It’s not bigoted to be unhappy about your rights being eroded, whether you’re a woman or a disabled person, or an able-bodied man who supports those people’s rights too.

Lalliella · 14/01/2023 00:47

Disabled people have a rough enough deal in life without having to wait for the toilet whilst some attention-seeking entitled idiot is using it.

OnlyTheWeedsGrow · 14/01/2023 00:31

Depending on the actual law regarding the provision of disabled/accessible toilets, I would support action against those establishments who co-opt facilities for the disabled to appease the T+ crowd. They can fuck off.

As my primary school Child said

'It's gone too far. One day she's X and the next day she is Y and then she is Z and on and on'

And then the boy child adds his view

'Shes still got to use the girls toilet as she doesn't have a penis'

If a child can spot that this is a crock if shit, then why can't an adult?

Remember that it was a child who pointed out that the "emperor has got no clothes".

FOJN · 14/01/2023 00:06

A spokesperson for Roxy Leisure said: "To reassure our customers, accessible toilet facilities are available across all of our sites, including Roxy Ball Room Birmingham. These facilities are available for anyone with disabilities and those who may not feel comfortable using, or are unable to use, gendered bathrooms.

Well that's a big fuck you to anyone with a disability. Is there any door that the hurt feelings of these special people can't open? Everyday I'm a little bit more disgusted by the sheer narcissism of it all.

@DdraigGoch I was thinking the same thing as I typed that

A family friend asked his daughter what "non-binary" is. She said that it's just attention-seeking and she avoids them because of the drama. I think that she understands it.

My girls is the same.

I think it helps that she doesn't particularly like the girl, but she really can't be bothered with it all.

MadeOfSteel · 13/01/2023 23:55

I need disabled toilets; I need the rails that drop down and come in off the walsl to get on and off the toilet safely. And the long emergency cord in case i have a fall. It's not nice having to navigate a dirty floor either. I'm sure you get the picture.

So now disabled people's right are included with women's rights on the list of things trampled all over to hell, so that a teeny tiny percentage of the population doesn't get upset?

When the hell is bowing down to ideologies going to stop?

I don't understand why not just use the appropriate toilet for their sex? Gender is irrelevant here. They shouldn't be using disabled people's toilets when they aren't disabled. It's all just drams for drama's sake.

Charlie has really just requested that a third space is needed.

The third space is just a toilet for either sex. That either sex can use and accepts that either sex might be in there when they are. But that space needs to be cubicles with sinks in, to ensure it's safe for both sexes.

Which is something I've seen a lot of people mention on this site.

But you can guarantee that the third space won't be such as you describe, provided in addition to the existing facilities. The women's toilets (cubicles with gaps and all) will simply be relabelled (not the men's, because urinals) or the accessible toilet will be designated for everyone who doesn't fit rigidly into the categories of Barbie and GI Joe, thus disadvantaging those who actually need the facilities.

i dont understand how you "come out" as non binary?

I am very old school, you have men (who have dicks), women (who do not!), and trans who are m-f or f-m and until they do not have the relvent genetalia they are what they are born as

offensive probably but its what everyone is thinking

Here here. Well,said.

denishhol · 13/01/2023 23:36

If I could collect a penny for everytime a nonbinary makes a whinery I'd be a billionaire.

gravyriceandchips · 13/01/2023 23:32

@UrsulaPandress
You couldn't say anything though incase you misgendered them Confused

UrsulaPandress · 13/01/2023 23:29

@PriamFarrl

That would piss me off deeply if I was waiting for the disabled loo and a fucking trans person walked out.

I feel awkward going into the women's toilets as I don't look like a woman.
Without a photo obviously we can't be entirely sure. Given the following sentence though, I've a feeling that it's more obvious than she lets on:

I also get insecure in the men's toilets in case they see my chest.
My chest is feeling uncomfortable at the moment. Or is it my throat? Whatever it is I'm coughing. Oh, she meant "breasts"? I've never encountered a non-binary who favoured low-cut tops - usually seems to be baggy jumpers - so I doubt that there will be many staring down her cleavage.

louderthan · 13/01/2023 23:14

I used the mens loo in the pub tonight because the women's loo was flooded. It was smelly and dirty because men are disgusting dirty creatures but I didn't feel 'hurt' or 'uncomfortable'. Needs must.
If you're non-binary then you don't identify as either gender, so surely you can use either toilet??

MichaelFabricantWig · 13/01/2023 23:12

Never happy are they. I had thought it was “offensive” to tell a trans person to use disabled toilets as it invalidated their sense of identity and equated being trans with being disabled. They could do with making their mind up

MarieKlepto · 13/01/2023 23:06

Charlie thinks she doesn't look like a woman. I'm glad she has the blueprint for what that should be because I'm sure a lot of us woman would just love to be educated 🙄Must say, when I'm in the local pub and my cheery, friendly butch dyke (by her own definition) neighbour comes into the loos when I'm there, it's never occurred to me to look her up and down and suggest she uses the men's/disabled loos . . .

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 13/01/2023 22:27

I don’t really understand non binary. I don’t think I ever will

I'm not convinced anybody knows - including those who identify as it. None of them ever seem able to explain it logically, when asked.

A family friend asked his daughter what "non-binary" is. She said that it's just attention-seeking and she avoids them because of the drama. I think that she understands it.

The biggest complainants IME are always Law students!

Particularly when they're getting nicked for public order offences on nights out.

Remaker · 13/01/2023 22:58

My mum is having cancer treatment and is (hopefully) temporarily in a wheelchair. During a recent visit to the hospital she had an urgent need for the toilet, only to find the disabled toilet was occupied by a mum with 2 kids who just found it ‘easier’ than going into the completely empty ladies toilets next door. It was a very near miss for an accident on what was already a stressful day. I told the mother she needed to be more considerate - especially in a hospital FFS!

Imagine if people like Mum have to compete for disabled loos with every trans and non binary person around. This is the biggest complaint I have - an entire generation being raised to believe their gender makes them more special, entitled and vulnerable than anyone else in society.

denishhol · 13/01/2023 22:46

The thing that grinds me with the nonbinitarians is supposedly they assume everyone else is just a moid of Barbie or Ken.

Indeed. For there to be non-binary, others must be assumed to be binary, and as this is not about sex, it must be about allegiance to sex stereotypes and sex roles. Sounds like a giant leap backwards in feminist work, the idea that most women are assumed to be comfortable with retrogressive views about proper feminine behaviour.

ethelredonagoodday · 13/01/2023 22:47

It makes my head hurt all of this. The level of self absorption is really something.
