Two Survivors Allege They Were “Groomed,” Sexually Exploited By Staff at Scottish LGBT Youth Charity

Its been the case now for a long time that 'LGBT+(whatever)' now stands for a political position/lobby, it does not accept or represent homosexual people or any LGB or TQ+ people not compliant with the politics. Or who dare to voice different opinions on their lives and experiences.

However the illusion of being the 'voice of the entire community' thing is clung on to and any attempts of LGB people to have a voice independent of the politics is fought against (as the constant attacks on the LGBA) as it is terribly useful to the political group to pretend they are the one only voice and representative of all LGB and TQ+ people all of whom agree with the politics and agenda. Having LGB and TQ+ people get off message or share contradicting experiences (such as hey, I want to be homosexual in peace) is disastrous to the political agenda.

When the phrase 'LGBT+' is used now, it is referring to the politics. As does the word 'lesbian'.

Sorry I think I should take a break from mumsnet I’m quite exhausted with the assumptions and picking apart phrases and assuming false guilt of others constantly for the sake of self serving drama.

Perhaps instead of jumping the gun as per usual you should have asked for clarity. I consider LGBT+ A separate community from LGB community. I have never stopped supporting LGB people. I am bisexual myself so I would certainly be shooting myself in the foot if I did not. However there are many LGB people within the sphere of the LGBT+ group that blindly support them because they think that they can’t support gay people unless they support them all.

Hold on a fucking minute: look what you just did there. You withdrew support for LGB people because of some things the TQ+ brigade have been up to. They are not our crimes.

LGB people are same-sex orientated: we're homosexuals. TQ+ people are almost all straight and think that sex is irrelevant. They want lesbians to accept girl dick and gay men to accept vagina. The TQ+ is homophobic. The two groups were welded together without consultation by Stonewall. Many, many lesbians and gay men object strongly to being combined with the TQ+.

Don't go blaming LGB folk for the activities of the TQ+ lot. Many LGB people are increasingly fearful of the backlash that will come if people lump us all in together. Please think more carefully and separate LGB and T out. We're not one community.

I could only read a couple of paragraphs of this as I couldn’t get beyond the words “three-month-old baby”. Very very upsetting.

The beginning of the end of the LGBT… Sadly people who need help will be hurt along the way. But the rug needs to be ripped out from under these organizations.

Reading the story about the baby was difficult to stomach… A very hard read overall. It’s really sad I used to be a huge supporter of the LGBT community… I believe that once upon a time it was full of kind people with truly good hearts. But no more. I will not be silent and watch this happen to innocent people no matter who they are, what pronouns they use and no matter if it destroys my reputation. This is horrible all around. They are now power hungry monsters exploiting people!
