Badenoch to meet Robison over GRR

"THE UK Equalities Minister will use a dramatic eleventh-hour intervention ahead of the Scottish parliament’s gender reform vote to implore the SNP to delay the changes.

Kemi Badenoch will meet Shona Robison, an ally of Nicola Sturgeon and the person steering the Gender Recognition Reform (Scotland) Bill through parliament, tomorrow – only 24 hours before final talks on the divisive law begin.

It is understood Ms Badenoch will call on the Scottish Government to explain how it has reached the conclusion that allowing people to self-identify as a different gender is the right path for Scotland, its people and the rest of the UK.

A Government source said: ‘Kemi wants to understand what their evidence is. It’s an attempt to urge them to take heed of warnings about the Bill, to rethink age limits and ensure there has been enough safeguarding.’"

And there is this on the support the SNP needs:

"This newspaper is aware of Nationalist rebels – who earlier this month staged the biggest rebellion in 15 years of SNP rule over the plans – rallying the support of opposition MSPs to help them defeat their own government this week. In particular, they are targeting Scottish Labour members who they claim will be the ‘kingmakers’ in deciding whether or not the gender reform Bill goes through.
One SNP insider last night told The Mail on Sunday: ‘We need their [MSPs’] support.’

Another said: ‘Those who stood up against the reforms have had significant support internally, and there is a recognition that some of those who are standing up for women and girls are doing so at great personal cost.’
Although they declined to say if more Nationalist MSPs were set to rebel, one source said: ‘I suspect there will be some colleagues who are increasingly anxious about their position.’ "

Um, what questions would be asked that anyone would need to - or even be able to - lie about? I thought the whole thing was that there wouldn't be any questions?

Presumably lying about their thoughts? So they'll obviously use the ScotGov mind-readers!

I vote Conservative now but to think when I was a Labour party member I once voted for Kezia to be Scottish Labour leader. I seem to recall that she then resigned when she became romantically involved with an SNP MSP.

But this is my problem. One is elderly and the other has learning disabilities, we are not far from having power of attorney and also worryingly close to having to deal with all the fall out of this direct.

Transwoman are the predatory men - entering female facilities is a predatory act. Most will not progress to committing a crime which they can be charged for - doesn't mean their behaviour is not predatory though.
This is so well put.

I have replied again to the dismissive responses from my Labour & green (🤢) MSPs - the SNP-bots don't seem to bother replying anymore. I only get sensible replies from the Conservatives 🤷‍♀️

Yes, if I understand correctly, an amendment to the aptly named GRR(!) bill that sought to exclude sex offenders from obtaining a GRC was explicitly ruled out.

Wasn't there a second amendment that sought to prevent those who where awaiting trial for sexual offences to change their "gender" until after the trial was completed? Does anyone know what happened with that?

What if you have Power of Attorney?

I won't right to my DMs Mp - but mainly as it would be a waste of time. I suspect she is probably the most far gone down the rabbit hole of all the MPs.

I don't live in Scotland but family members do and they would be directly affected by this. Would it be appropriate to email their MP discussing my family specific concerns?

Criminal Record - check
Sex Offenders Register - check
Like wearing womans clothes - check

Apply for a GRC - clean slate. All you need to do is wear womans clothes - you don't even need to do it all the time or at all. Just say you are s women.

Get a job in schools, adult social care- anything you want.

You are trans - they will be climbing over themselves to hire you - virtue signalling and all that.

‘No debate.’ Masked trans activists preventing women from meeting to discuss proposed changes in government legislation. People like Kezia simply refusing to listen to alternative opinions because they only want to do favours for their lovely trans pals.

Tragically for women and children in Scotland, it’s likely to get pushed through and I hope it costs every MSP who votes for this bill their seat at the next election. Allowing any sex offender to obtain a GRC and a false birth certificate? What kind of man or woman prioritises the feelings of sex offenders over the safety, privacy and dignity of women and children? Absolutely shameful.

Most of us know it’s not possible for people to actually change sex. No matter how much they want to, no matter how many of their friends and family lie to them, no matter how much plastic surgery they get, no matter the drugs they take, no matter the clothes they wear, no matter the false official documents they get.

Stop the lies, Kezia.

You can treat people with respect without lying to them.

A TW is a woman if they say they are a woman.

There is no special feeling or actual activity you need to do to change sex in Scotland once this law has passed. You just need to fill in a form and wait 3 months. Do you even need to prove you are 'living as a woman' - what even is that in the 1st place.

What's the difference between a 50 year old male who gets sexual pleasure from being in a ladies changing room, and another 50 year old who gets sexual pleasure from being in a ladies changing room but goes on to commit a rape.

Both are predatory in my opinion. Both may have the same internalised feelings of wanting to be a woman

I get so annoyed when they say there is no risk from Transwoman and the risk is predatory men. Transwoman are the predatory men - entering female facilities is a predatory act. Please come to the rally for women’s rights on Wednesday 21 December if you are able.
You can watch the proceedings on the bill on the Scottish Parliament channel on Tuesday & Wednesday. (Sorry I’m unsure of the channel number for that & if you will be able to stomach it tbh)

This is . He still has his "family jewels" but insists he is a woman, in fact he claims that because he has sex with his girlfriend that makes him a lesbian. He is the sort of person that will be entitled to sit in the ladies changing rooms while we are all undressing at the gym/swimming etc.

if someone falsely applies for a GRC they could be imprisoned for 5 years…I wonder where that would be? Also they say the system is working well re sex offender notifications. Really? With K D and the number of men detransitioning after their stay in a womens prison? How can this possibly be true. And yes , that is why we have to adhere to the pronoun law. I really think we should not do it.
