UNIVERSITY OF EDINBURGH

14 Dec 18:00 EUSA & Staff Pride Network are hosting a trans solidarity event at Teviot.

The same day, “Edinburgh Academics For Academic Freedom (EAFAF) will be hosting a screening of the film ‘Adult Human Female’ and related discussion. We believe this event will contribute to an unsafe and unwelcoming environment on campus for our trans members.”

Contact the University Secretary ([email protected]) or EUSA VP Welfare ([email protected]) to voice concerns!

No, nils.

Funny how it's not the done thing to talk about paraphilias.

It's almost like they don't even exist anymore!

It's actually very wrong and horrible and nasty of women to discuss things like fetishes, paraphilias and kinks that revolve around the participation of non-consenting women.

It's basically bigotry to talk about these things.

Women should just shut up about it. Nobody believes you even if it's happened to you. All that 'we believe you' stuff? Fine, unless we're talking about a certain type of male, at which point you are just making it up or being a 'sexual racist' or a horrible bigot.

Otherwise - thank goodness women are at last being listened to and things like voyeurism and exhibitionism are at last being taken seriously, eh? Round of applause for this progressive utopia, everyone!

EsmaCannonball · 15/12/2022 13:14

Entryism: join a movement, take it over, change its aims.

nilsmousehammer · 15/12/2022 13:10

I don't think, from the vast wealth of evidence, much of which afterwards you'll wish there was some kind of mental bleach available, that it's just political tactics.

But we're not allowed to mention the many elephants cantering in a highly dodgy manner around the room and stomping everyone's feet to bits.

Helleofabore · 15/12/2022 13:10

Ah.... yes. The fragrant James. I forgot that thread.

Well that fits the time line for Woof quite well.

ArabellaScott · 15/12/2022 13:09

IDK, why else would a young male want to volunteer with sex workers, and help provide sanitary protections for women, and shout and rage at elderly ladies, and hang out with young women in general?

Must be because they just loves being around women, and helping women out, and making sure women get all the things they need because of their biological sex, eh.

HootyMcboob76 · 15/12/2022 13:09

All obsessed with periods across the board.
And period products.
And handing out period products.
And explaining how period products work.

I wonder why.

Why are these males so invested in period product access, abortion and prostitution?

What drives this? Is it that they are virtue signalling their "feminist" & "activist" credentials? Or is it something else.....?

It's a tactic they've been advised to adopt.

JM’s campaigning tips were to gain trust in the local community- and to approach moderate feminists, “correct misconceptions and forgive any ignorance they may have displayed”. They want to gain trust and make themselves likeable.

Apparently small acts like helping to campaign about period poverty or retweeting the local branch of Women’s Aid will make a difference and result in some reciprocation. They want to make it look like they care about Women's issues so they don’t appear threatening

JM is James Morton (Scottish Transgender Alliance). Taken from this invaluable thread from October 2018. Four years ago! Blimey. www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/3398737-We-re-Still-Here-Conference-8th-September-A-report-from-the-inside

Yes, at least one picture has been deleted since yesterday, Scout2016.

Scout2016 · 15/12/2022 12:42

Robin's Instagram- not much on it but drag queens, check. Head tilts, check. Cute animals, check. Photo with "gun", check

And the interest in free period products for all.

lifeturnsonadime · 15/12/2022 12:39

How weird I appear to be blocked by that Dean on twitter. I've never, to my knowledge, interacted with him.

dropthevipers · 15/12/2022 12:25

In my less charitable moments, I wish these knobbers would be on the receiving end of some actual violence (as opposed to the literal kind)

RadicalFern · 15/12/2022 11:54

Thank you @BernardBlacksMolluscs, I feel like such a coward for not braving it but also angry that a woman can’t go watch a film without having to be brave.

EsmaCannonball · 15/12/2022 10:14

Why is it that so many of the people attracted to the TRA movement seem so 'off'? Just creeps and grifters and people who set your spidey senses going.

Yes this. They all seem a bit ....unfinished.

As my sister remarked of far right Conservatives. Younger Mumsnetters will live to see some of these ginks in the House of Lords.

KittensNotMittens · 15/12/2022 11:37

The whole trans issue really has just emboldened a new gen of misogynists and their little female enablers.

AndEverWhoKnew · 15/12/2022 11:29

The people pretending this isn't old-fashioned misogyny must be keeping their eyes very tightly closed. If these little bullies get their way then women can't have toilets, go to a cinema, attend a talk, gather in a pub or restaurant, march outside, wave banners, heal in safety in hospital, talk about their experiences of male violence etc etc . . . it's fucking ridiculous. It's the biggest pushback of women's rights for decades.

RoyalCorgi · 15/12/2022 11:15

Robyn Woolf also seems to have behaved aggressively towards some elderly, female anti-abortion protesters:

Whoever that is, it’s a man, someone who will NEVER need an abortion taking the opportunity to scare the shit out of some older women

and to come away feeling he’s the good guy

DameMaud · 15/12/2022 11:18

Wow. That ratio was beautiful to behold (after the shock of his original tweet)

Dennis Kavanaugh's great response:

"Avoid denouncement by Sturgeon's children of the revolution by staying home and being quiet?

You're a dean at a University right? You know about the value of "political assembly" right?

You're LITERALLY telling women not to assemble and discuss their rights.

God above man."

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 15/12/2022 11:00

It’s very heartening to see that prat get his arse handed to him

fucking sexist. ‘I’ve got the solution! Women, stay at home! I’ve examined this plan from every angle and it’s 100% a winner’

DialSquare · 15/12/2022 10:53

He's protected his tweets now. Coward.

Mmmnotsure · 15/12/2022 10:50

I assumed this was a twenty-something student.
However it appears Robyn Woof is in his mid-thirties.
Ye gods.

DameMaud · 15/12/2022 10:48

Thanks Gasp0de and Dial.
I'll settle in the a cuppa

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 15/12/2022 10:41

So why didn’t everyone just watch it online and avoid all the conflict? is what he said.

He supported women leaving the kitchen don't you know.

What the actual fuck.

Why should that be something he 'supports'?

I guess we should all drop down at his feet and be thankful.
