The "organisation" which has replaced "Steph's Place" has big news and there just isn't enough popcorn in the world:

In a sane world, yes, but this ain't that! All that would happen is there would be medically diagnosable trans people and trans people where the diagnostic criteria hasn't been discovered yet. They will always move the goal posts.

Even of there was an objective thing which could be defined as trans (beyond "something people declare themselves to be") and even if there was a physical basis for it, that still doesn't make a male body female. So in that sense, I'm not that sad that we aren't going to have sight of this [falls over laughing] "groundbreaking research" because it would serve no useful purpose

If there was a marker it would serve a purpose of being able to screen out people who aren't eligible for transition services. This is why they want to ban "conversion therapy" which can include questionnaires to discover what thoughts a person is having.

You wouldn't see ROGD girls being allowed, APG males etc.

TRAs don't want any gatekeeping, they are obsessed with transing as many people as possible. Otherwise they wouldn't come up with nonsense like "if you like pink or Barbie and are a boy you need to transition".

Tweet seems to have been deleted! What did I miss? Anyone archive it?

Yup, it's here: archive.ph/KUtQq

@TinselAngel
Thanks!
I suppose I will just have to wait for this incredible scientific development to be picked up by the BMJ.

Oh well.

Got late to the party but the tweet has been deleted.

Helleofabore · 13/12/2022 21:28

What about the newspapers who wanted early access?? They are going to be so disappointed too.

Of course, if this was truly ground breaking stuff, it would be published properly.

But maybe Steph thought it was 1 April and not 16 December?

@NotBadConsidering - that made my day.

WarriorN · 13/12/2022 18:16

as well as the young woman posting videos on Tiki in blue lipstick who is adamant she is trigender (which is to say, male female and non-binary all at the same time, all the time as opposed to moving fluidly between genders).

Please do try to take scientific research more seriously.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Ah thanks, that made my night.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 13/12/2022 18:13

The poor scientist tho, who has to keep this groundbreaking, miraculous test to himself, now. For evah.

Bang goes the Nobel Prize. Back to the day job.

I know. The injustice of it all. Heartbreaking.

DNA from Atlantis? Is that what this is all about?

Well we've often noted a strong trans-Atlantic influence haven't we?

Annaissleeping · 13/12/2022 17:25

I'm not sure why you're all so cocky.

This is an actual thing. It must be plagiarism though because I saw a video related to this years ago - not the test as such but the means by which you can chance your biological scientific result if you aren't happy with it. So I don't know why TRA's are panicking. I'm sure this video would reassure the couple of people I've known who went from being NB to transmen as well as the young woman posting videos on Tiki in blue lipstick who is adamant she is trigender (which is to say, male female and non-binary all at the same time, all the time as opposed to moving fluidly between genders).

Apologies if that comes out as a super long link.

TinselAngel · 13/12/2022 17:10

I remember being told that Steph was purporting to be a "reasonable transsexual ally" a while back at Sarah Philimore's (now defunct?) GRA reform group. Apparently the mask kept slipping though.

Have I mentioned on this thread that Steph wrote a whole blog post about how much Steph hates me?

Yikes! I hope that was on the ridiculous end of the TRA ridiculous/alarming spectrum.

Writing a hate piece about how awful I am is a rite of passage for the middle aged transitioner about town.

As far as I remember, one of the studies concluded that people who say they are trans are unusually self-obsessed. Obsession with their own bodies is off the scale. And much like the elasticity of the brain of taxi drivers, it shows up.

I wonder if that's it 😄

I'm shocked. Whoever would have guessed that narcissism might be linked to self ID-ing as trans?

Does Steph have connections to Labour?

Yes, Portsmouth Labour according to the bio

Put your popcorn away I'm afraid

oh COME ON!

I never knew it was possible to feel so disappointed and so amused all at the same time.

How dare they impede scientific progress like this.
