LGTBQ Nation questions 'genderfluid' Brinton's conversion therapy story

Sam Brinton, currently awaiting trial for theft of a woman's suitcase:

'The red flags regarding Brinton were overwhelming and obvious to all who cared to see them. Unfortunately, some of America’s top LGBTQ+ activists and organizations were willfully blind to Brinton’s shortcomings.
...
These organizations, such as the Trevor Project and the National Center for Lesbian Rights (NCLR), ignored clear warning signs and incontrovertible evidence because Brinton provided these groups with a seemingly perfect ex-gay survivor story to expose horrific conversion therapy practices and ideology.'

This article just seems to avoid using pronouns for Aldrich altogether:

eu.usatoday.com/story/news/2022/12/08/colorado-springs-club-q-shooting-suspect-bomb-threat/10859149002/

Aldrich’s Fork

Accept his declared trans identity & admit that some members of “the community” can & do commit horrific acts of violence.

OR

Invalidate his declared trans identity & accept that you CAN’T always believe the magic words, and that wrongdoers have an incentive to lie.

Tricky - most people seem to be trying to go for the second option, without the corollary.

It doesn’t always escalate, but it’s a symptom. The chap in my old village who was convicted of stealing womens panties from clothes lines eventually beat his female neighbour to death while she was out walking her dog.

FFS, sorry, 'they's' P45.

Another clothes-stealer is apparently the creator of the trans flag:

twitter.com/WomenReadWomen/status/1510888538182922241

'The creator of the trans flag, Robert Hogge (right) who goes by Monica Helms, used to steal their mother's underwear, then moved on to stealing random women's underwear for sexual reasons, and has written a story about an adult man marrying a teen girl who doesn't age.'

The media don't seem to be respecting the Club Q shooter's request for they/them pronouns.

I'm sorry but the campaigners don't get to decide that he's not genderfluid now that he's damaging the brand, it's like the Met sacking Wayne Cousins after he was caught so that they could go to the media and say "former police office.", "not a current officer".

The Club Q shooter identifies as non-binary, but the campaigners now claim he's not, essentially because it damages the brand.

Any normal person can see that these people are chancers, but to Stonewall et al you are never allowed to question their self-identification. This guy has a fetish, but for a lot of "trans" prisoners I know they're not trans, not even AGP, just straight up liars.

*Chersfrozenface" yes,I had underwear stolen from a changing room at a swimming pool, and years ago a man in our village was caught punching underwear off a washing line.
He was chased down the street by the owner, who was wielding a horse whip.

He probably enjoyed the whole thing

Knicker pinching can be one of the lower level offences of a man working himself up to much more serious stuff.

Clymene · 11/12/2022 06:58

Interesting! So Brinton is married. Surely their husband noticed the new suitcases?

ArabellaScott · 10/12/2022 18:22

Fetishes tend to escalate, as far as I know.

Kind of shocking how brazen the theft was in the second instance (Las Vegas).

He advertised a rainbow nuclear t-shirt he was gifted (?) and wearing from the American Nuclear Society on social media: 'Thank you for selling such a great shirt for me to wear on my flight today'. I'm assuming the theft occured the same day and he was on his way back from one of their conferences.

He was promptly caught on camera wearing the distinctive shirt while walking away with the stolen luggage. No attempt to disguise himself with a baseball cap or plain hoodie covering the logo nor a change of t-shirt on the flight. Bold as brass.

The suitcase looks reasonably unisex although there does appear to be some kind of pink tag or identifier (it's somewhat blurry). It contained $1,700 of jewellery in addition to clothes and expensive make up. I wonder what he'll say happened to the contents of that one 🧐

The article says he removed the case from the carousel, looked around to see if anyone noticed, placed it back on the carousel then quickly removed it again and walked off with it 😮

I'm quite grateful that I hadn't come across laundry-stealing up until now.

I'm back now. It was just a momentary Berylling.

I’d imagine there’s two thrills going on- the thrill of having/wearing women’s underwear or other clothes and the thrill of being caught doing something as shameful as stealing them.

TheBiologyStupid · 10/12/2022 15:12

IvyTwines · 10/12/2022 09:15

@ArabellaScott yes there was even a Madness song about it back in the day, 'In the Middle of the Night'. Nice, jaunty man in the shop with a dark secret who slinks away once unmasked. I think it's a thing on Ebay too, according to past Mumsnet threads!

And there's Pink Floyd's "Arnold Layne", too: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arnold_Layne#Lyrics

AraberylScott · 10/12/2022 14:14

I had no idea! Bloody hell. It's worse than straightforward theft, too, it's a deliberate violation.

I had a pair of old jeans taken- I lived in a flat the washing line was right by my door- these creeps are fucking shameless.

crosshatching · 10/12/2022 12:53

I also had my clothes stolen off the line as a student. Just my stuff, a nightie, a pretty blouse, for a while I thought I'd been pranked. The realisation was unsettling.

Why on earth do women assume the best? FGS Hellofaberyl!

😁

AraberylScott · 10/12/2022 11:36

Well, that's gross.

Sophoclesthefox · 10/12/2022 11:36

Creep turns out to be creepy! I’m doing my shocked face 😦

Brinton set off my spidey senses from the get go. I am quite disturbed about how women are being pushed and shamed to over ride our gut instincts in the name of progress.

The utter fantastical lies about the “conversion therapy” are far worse than I thought. The prospect that this is another instance of the T actually setting progress back for LGB people is very disheartening. “Trust, but verify” is a pretty good rule of thumb that serves well, and could have been created for this kind of situation. That comes up hard against the prevailing winds of standpoint theory and “everyone has their own truth” that are blowing so hard among the bien-pensant though…

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 10/12/2022 11:36

Chersfrozenface · 09/12/2022 09:14

Yes, stealing clothes is a fetish.

Stealing panties off washing lines is a positive cliché.

Reader, it actually happened to me, donkeys' years ago, in a rural area.

It’s relatively common. Chaps often prefer to steal womens clothes, even if ‘only’ from members of their own families, even though there is now no problem in buying your own online. The explanation is usually that the stolen clothes are more ‘ real’ as they have been worn by women, and also that the theft increases the sensation of transgression which is often an integral part of cross dressing.

Or so my psychologist friend says.
