I agree, as a 14 year old my style was similar. I certainly could have written that at her age if I’d have had the confidence.

Interesting article, testimony well presented. Certainly not written by a 14-year old girl, although perhaps transcribed on her behalf by a literate adult. I have read many, many under- and post graduate essays. Rarely are they as competently written as that.

I’ve known very clever 14 year olds that write like that.

I disagree, my dd was writing that well at 14. She is also a debater like this girl and if that is well taught they get a lot of training on structuring writing- certainly something that would improve many of the student essays I have seen.
I am sure she’s discussed it with her gender critical mum and that’s where the vocabulary comes from, but it does read like a bright teenager with debating experience to me.

I recently spoke with some parents whose child had been bullied out of a previous school for being ‘ordinary.’ They were incensed at the way the school had handled everything.

HipTightOnions · 02/12/2022 21:01

I have always wondered what goes on at my school's LGBTQ club, but I have no way of finding out.

Poor girl, but at least she has her head screwed on right.

TheBiologyStupid · 02/12/2022 20:46

So sorry to hear that, lurchermummy - but glad that she's come out the other side.

lurchermummy · 02/12/2022 19:57

Sounds so like my DD who fell
down this exact rabbit hole at that age, LGBT society at school and all. Three years of self harming, starving herself, wearing boys clothes, presenting as a boy. Now she's as feminine as they come and much happier. But still has the self harm scars.

TheBiologyStupid · 02/12/2022 17:56

Frightening - poor girl! The government can't step in to put a stop to this nonsense in schools quickly enough.

waterwitch · 02/12/2022 17:52

I’d love to hear Kier Starmer’s response to that

HoofWankingSpangleCunt · 02/12/2022 16:58

I think she may have written it with her mother, but I don’t think that takes anything away from the article. My DD is thankfully 22 and no longer an impressionable teen but it’s my 14 year old DS with ASD and gender critical views who’s been reprimanded for disrespect for. Saying girls can’t be boys.
I absolutely agree with the poster sayIng about dangerous adults in schools.
it’s frankly terrifying how insidious gender identity ideology has become in schools .

How do you even start dismantling the infrastructures in schools like the Equalities club. (The irony in that name though) without the students and probably teachers believing they’re being attacked by transphobes? I’m thinking of the website page on Mermaids which states exactly that as a. Response t the new that the Charity Commission is sufficiently concerned enough to shine some sunlight on the organisation.

What this scary article shows is that some adults in those schools have become a danger to children. Enabling a school culture where bullying flourishes, wherechildren are scared to report safeguarding concerns, running LBGT etc groups in school and online where some of the behaviour towards younger children in terms of encouraging sexualised age inappropriate discussions literally fits the definition of grooming.

I hope TT forwards this to the Head of Ofsted & Sec of State for Education. Not that they'll do anything but yet again it adds to tsunami of warnings that Ofsted & the government have ignored in recent years about what's happening to children.

NewStartIn50s · 02/12/2022 16:32

My friend said similar, her daughter is an anxious teen on the spectrum and she has been encouraged to join the school's LBTQ? group at lunchtime. She is really mixed up now because she feels she doesn't feel like a girl so must be a boy. All the students with learning differences and MH conditions seem to gravitate to the group. Poor things have no idea what is being pushed onto them

BlackForestCake · 02/12/2022 16:16

She writes so well. I have thought for a while that school students are going to have to fight by themselves, having been let down so badly by their own teachers. And that’s a terrifying prospect when you’re a teenager.

picklemewalnuts · 02/12/2022 16:03

Bless her heart.

What a terrifying situation for a child to be in.

Boiledbeetle · 02/12/2022 15:58

thanks for this if was an interesting yet horrifying read.

It appears it is so much worse than it was just a couple of years ago. The infiltration into schools seems to have been rather successful.

These poor children, both those who have fallen into the rabbit hole and those that haven't are being treated appallingly.

I don't see any of this ending well

SingingSands · 02/12/2022 15:43

Poor girl. How can the kids actually be concentrating on getting an education with all this getting in the way? Sad
