Excuse the DM link

Awful. Poor girl.

What I find interesting is the shift in reporting. The article consistently uses the name Orton rather than referring to him as “she”. In fact it quotes a source referring to Orton as “he”. And is also going to a male prison - good.

But surely then the headline should be "male posing as transwoman", rather than plain old transwoman?

radrado · 29/11/2022 23:17

Yes, he used his special status to gain access so it’s pivotal to the story. Of course he’s also a predatory male, but where does one end and the other begin?

He wasn't. No GRC. A wig, make-up and dress do not a woman make.

A male in drag at most.

Used his male biology to impregnate an underage girl.

I refuse to call him a transwoman. He is a predator.

It's like calling child sexual abuse on video "child porn". Just no.

I've just posted about this as well.

How was he not convicted of rape?

Why are we calling this biological and legal male a transwoman? He is a common male predator. Nothing trans about him in the slightest.

He was a transwoman at the time he groomed and abused this child.

His identity is relevant, because: 'David Orton befriended the young victim and her family and was trusted to be alone with her because of the 25-year-old's gender status.'

Sacred caste.

@aweegc I was thinking exactly the same 😠

I don't understand how the sex offender can be found guilty of penetrative sex with a child aged 13-15, demonstrated to have groomed the child and for it not to be rape. It's not like the offender was 16. This was clearly and adult.

Me neither. Wtf??

ArabellaScott · 29/11/2022 22:55

My thoughts with the girl. Appalling story.

'Orton refused to accept that there was any wrongdoing and [claimed] that they were in fact the victim,'

No shit.

I hope the girl is doing OK. There is no info anywhere about what happened to the pregnancy, it's only of interest because in today's world the courts would no doubt grant access to the father which doesn't bear thinking about.

I think the shift in reporting is about preventing "sexual predator" becoming synonymous with the sacred cast, not sure how else to word that without getting deleted. Safeguarding would work just as well but that's transphobic.

Whereas the UK's state funded broadcaster has this gem.
