They are doing some presentations at my place of work soon.

Does anyone have experience of their presentations? Any idea what I can expect?

It's not mandatory but it makes me think there may be a forthcoming policy...

Excellent suggestion.

Pupil premium is for the most vulnerable and disadvantaged children in our society, those in care, adopted or experiencing childhood as a carer. As for disability funding HOW DARE THEY. Honestly I can’t describe what I think about trying to tap in on that pitiful fund. I’ve home educated on and off for more than a decade and I have never been to a home Ed meet up where the children with disabilities didn’t outnumber the able children. In fact the ONLY children we met who didn’t have fairly significant needs were siblings. In TEN years, meetings are usually weekly and most people go to multiple groups.

Shame on them

Itisbetter · 16/11/2022 18:30

They suggest that schools use the Pupil Premium or Disability allowance to pay for their £90 hour plus travel & accommodation charges.
this is the most infuriating thing I have read for a long time.

Oh and ONLY women have PCOS because you need ovaries to have an ovarian syndrome.

It's enraging isn't it Itisbetter? I've never seen anyone challenge them about this, more's the pity. The arrogance of self interested adults setting themselves up to "mentor" other people's children about changing sex and charging schools for the dubious privilege.
How this gets past any school's safeguarding policy I can't imagine.

@Whatwherewherewhat I don't know if any could be seen as 'neutral' as sex matters would be seen as 'the other side' I suppose, being that there are only two and you have to pick one 🙄

Audrey Luwig, Naomi Campbell or a human rights lawyer or expert (who didn't have anything to do with the Yogyakarta principles and isn't captured) might be good. Maybe Robert Wintermute?

Someone would bound to protest and label them transphobic right wing alt right Christian conservative (it is a university after all!) but depending on the aim of the presentation from the university's point of view I'd go with human rights speakers or free speech speakers.

Thank you for the suggestions.
@OhHolyJesus it's a university so higher education.

Are there any organisations that can be perceived as "neutral" that offer training?

That's the problem isn't it? As all the "trans" training is so ideological, truth absent, compelled speech, coercive behaviour orientated, people are forced to "object" or counter this.
What we need (and used to have before the trans extremists got hold of inclusion training) was balanced, appropriate for the industry, diversity training that identified the issues / blocks to inclusion of protected groups in that field and looked at strategies to overcome these blocks.
Once the flag waving "repeat after me, TWAW, this is my life and any questions are transphobic" individuals got hold of D & I, they've literally driven out so many intelligent, insightful trainers who refused to raise the trans flag above all other groups.

Whatwherewherewhat · 16/11/2022 12:44

And thank you @BellaAmorosa, I had a quiet word in the right (very lovely) person's ear, who then had a quiet word with the organiser, and I think what with the emails, that tipped it over the edge. Or I like to think so anyway 😆

To replace what GI were offering I mean...although I don't know what the nature of the complaints were exactly, about GI in particular or the subject matter. Maybe I can try and find out.

Good news, @Whatwherewherewhat .
This is the universe rewarding you for having courage and being prepared to stand up against indoctrination.

OhHolyJesus · 16/11/2022 11:11

Saying that though Helen Joyce did a brilliant speech at Cambridge and I can't think of anyone better placed to speak at other universities.

sex-matters.org/posts/updates/helen-joyce-speaks-at-caius-college/

I'm interested to know how many complaints they got? Probably more critical thinkers like you OP there than you realised!

OhHolyJesus · 16/11/2022 11:08

I agree with Mrs Overton there and would also suggest LGB Alliance or depending on your industry, a speaker from another grassroots organisation like Councillors who Care, GC Midwives, or one of the smaller, lesser well know groups that have gathered and launched since this crazy thing took over.

Your employer could also consider a disability group or Age U.K. so to focus on a protected characteristic that still exists and which has a particular focus which is often overlooked amongst EDI.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 16/11/2022 10:58

That's great - and the fact it's been cancelled after protests indicates that the majority are seeing this type of "training" for the indoctrination it is.
What about suggesting a speaker who could unpick the mess institutions have got themselves into from listening to Stonewall, GI etc biased versions of the law etc? Does the barrister Akua Reindorf (employment / discrimination barrister who exposed Essex University's discrimination against Jo Phoenix) take on speaking commitments? Ben Cooper (Maya's KC) did a fascinating interview recently about employment law and discrimination? Someone from Sex Matters?
A legally factual session in contrast to all the gender woowoo indoctrination that's self identified as training in recent years?

Whatwherewherewhat · 16/11/2022 10:42

I have an update...it's been cancelled 😊
Apparently there were MANY complaints, some very unpleasant.
I now have an opportunity, via someone I know that knows the organiser, wo make some recommendations for alternative training. What shall I suggest?

I'm sure you'll do well, @Whatwherewherewhat . Good luck.
And sorry to bang on about to this, but please remember to use normal English words and phrases, not the language of TRAs. If we use their language we give it currency - we normalise the words and legitimise the concepts.

OhHolyJesus · 15/11/2022 09:15

I just wish I was a more articulate thinker and speaker!

Based on this thread and your posts you are clear and concise. No one needs to be a wordsmith to express a truth or raise a question. I too have not felt so brave in speaking up but you may surprise yourself! Women should have more faith in themselves, are all we seem to be making the most sense on this! The more you do it the easier it becomes and your points are rooted in truth and you have evidence. I would guess that senior staff would have children or have children I their lives, it's pretty difficult to support this when safeguarding is centred and when it's clear on the conflation of actual science and medical conditions is apparent.

For Athena Swan, if you want to challenge this, you could share a quick comparison with their 2017/2018 goals of women in STEM and compare with their most recent version. A simply word search of 'woman/women' and the number of times it appears is indicative of the direction they are taking.

Feel free to DM me, but you've got this covered I think.

These organisations always go straight to trans lobbyists, and get them to write the script. No questions asked. No normal women involved at all.

Why are they unable to acknowledge that there is, there really is, a recognised conflict between the rights and preferences of women (women's strictly single-sex spaces) and those of men who have a thing about themselves being their own personal version of women (but they are still men, not women, but insisting on entry to what should be women's single-sex spaces. Very male type of behaviour - they are more important than women).

Yes it's amazing isn't it?

I need to find something concrete on their website that goes against any of the reasons that the uni gave for now continuing the relationship with Stonewall.

Thank you all for your kind words.

I have been 'lucky' in that the madness of these organisations has mostly flown over my head for most my life. It is the last 2 years where things have just gotten so wild that it has been hard to ignore.

I wonder if these groups have any thought to properly listen to those with such conditions? I doubt they want to hear from us. It wouldn't fit their narratives to hear the cold-hard truths from sufferers.

I hope some of you read the other articles on the Differently Normal. The stress the author went through as a child and teenager with her many hospital visits. I can echo that too.

A child gawped at by strangers, mostly men, with no say-so. It is horrific that leaves mental and physical scars that cannot be erased. I have tried counselling but that has done little for me. The conditions are so rare it is hard to find even a decent understanding consultant to this day.

My condition also causes ongoing health issues that are an anchor around my neck. I am not even sure how my body will cope into menopause due to the systems affected. It is terrifying.

I will certainly have a look at Differently Normal, thank you so much. I'm so very sorry for everything you've experienced, and that you have people taking advantage of your lives experience to push their own agenda.

Thank you for coming here and sharing with us.

@OhHolyJesus
Athena Swan, yes.
Thank you for the suggestions, i am putting together some useful links and trying to gather salient facts.

I'm very quiet and nervous and my heart is already hammering at the thought of asking difficult questions during the meeting...so my best options are to send an email before or after I think.

I just hate to think of the presentation happening and all those nice gullible people taking in all the nonsense and believing it. I just wish I was a more articulate thinker and speaker!
