I was just thinking that the GC analysis is the only one that can explain the behaviour of police forces up and down the country.

The liberal position is “It’s awful that the police are institutionally racist and misogynist, but it’s great that they stand up for LGBTQ+ people!”

No. The promotion of trans ideology is part of the misogyny.

So what do you disagree with?

IcakethereforeIam · 24/06/2023 23:44

@JanesLittleGirl this is a bit of a zombie thread, it confused me too. Give Felix this, he's consistent.

Part of the police code of ethics is honesty and integrity. That's at the heart of everything we do . Or should be .

That's where you get it wrong. Police is just another bureaucracy so their real aims are only vaguely related to their declared aims. They get promotion by doing as told / making the police look good, no matter how much what they do is any real good or not. And those on top are more concerned about pleasing politicians or whichever pressure group happens to be the more strident at the time than anything else. Call it whatever you want, but most of the time they will prefer to go after easy targets, especially if they can get some Brownie points in the process.
So... you got mugged in front of CCTV cameras? No time to go through CCTV footage, you are really silly to expect that!
A car thief threatening to kill you because you have the audacity to stop him the act? Police don't want to even register the report, let alone do any investigation.
You don't want to go along someone's delusions? That suddenly MUST be investigated, no matter what. Even a good pretext for harassing someone by abusive home search.
If anyone had told me 10-20 years ago it would come to this, I would have dismissed it as improbable.
Many individuals in it are decent people, but the the whole institution is looong overdue for some very serious shake-up.

stillvicarinatutu · 19/12/2022 02:28

Derek

Can't see the issue in how that was handled - an allegation has been made - it needs further investigation to establish the facts - you can only do that by talking to people. The officer was polite , told her what the allegation was , invited for pace 9 . Doesn't mean guilty . Doesn't mean innocent. Means someone has reported something- true or false - could be either - needs facts establishing to either prove or disprove .

Just cos we believe k - support her - doesn't mean it shouldn't be looked into .

If it's the same person maki g repeated allegations then a counter allegation could be raised .

DerekFaker · 18/12/2022 21:27

Update from KJK where she speaks to rhe same police officer again. They have confirmed that it's related to "a hate crime related to sexual orientation.

Felix125 · 12/12/2022 21:09

No - I'm saying get rid of them all. All of them should be gotten rid of.
Misogynistic whats app groups, lie in interviews, harassing people - regardless of who you are - should be gotten rid of.

We should not have any rainbow cars, pin badges, poppies, charity badges, Christmas decorations in offices etc

AlisonDonut · 12/12/2022 20:46

Yet you cannot see the discrepancy.

Woman - makes one lie [which is not corruption, not by a long shot] and is immediately investigated and action taken. And you gloat about having cleaned out the corrupt officer.

Hundreds of police men meanwhile, harassing and raping colleagues and female victims and the crickets can't croak loud enough and meanwhile you guys are again, harping with glee about getting rid of a single female because of a single lie in an interview, as if nobody else ever lied in an interview.

It's no wonder people smack their heads against walls when trying to point out the incredible hypocracy.

Felix125 · 12/12/2022 18:07

If someone gets caught out for being corrupt - they should be gone, regardless of sex.

So we agree

AlisonDonut · 12/12/2022 16:58

SEX. Not gender.

Felix125 · 12/12/2022 15:25

If someone gets caught out for being corrupt - they should be gone, regardless of gender

AlisonDonut · 12/12/2022 14:57

Because no man would ever lie in an interview...

Crikey women say something in an interview and it gets investigated, have they ever done this with any men?

Women have to be pure whereas men can just say 'it's all just banter' and get away with pretty much everything including murder if they just say 'it was breath play gone wrong'.

We're fucked. Where you both pat yourselves on the back for rooting out the corruption.

Felix125 · 12/12/2022 14:31

Exactly - like I said above, I don't want to be part of a force which has corrupt people on it. They do need to be rooted out when they come across it.

stillvicarinatutu · 11/12/2022 20:13

Part of the police code of ethics is honesty and integrity. That's at the heart of everything we do . Or should be .

stillvicarinatutu · 11/12/2022 19:56

What an idiot thing to do . 27 years of unblemished service down the drain for the sake of failing an interview.

But yes I also wonder if they'd have looked deeper into it if she'd said she challenged something other than a comment on a transgender person.
With 27 years of service I'm pretty sure she could have thought of a real example.

That said - I do wonder how newsworthy someone lying in an interview is - I would imagine that plenty of people embellish their CV or take credit for something they shouldn't .

Lying in an interview is terrible - definitely don't condone it and we are held to higher standards (rightly so) but is it really newsworthy? I don't know . Interviewee gets caught out in interview....I do wonder how often that happens generally for any job ?
I've never lied in an interview and I wouldn't. I've had 3 interviews for internal positions, passed 2 but failed the one I really wanted . That's life . I wouldn't jeopardise an entire career . Stupid .

HatThatWearsYou · 11/12/2022 18:45

Agree, I think some in the police see it as easy brownie points.

I wonder if the officer on the interview board would have showed up to investigate a claim that she had challenged a sexist comment. I doubt it.

DerekFaker · 11/12/2022 18:36

I mean the force and the question not the individual officer.

DerekFaker · 11/12/2022 18:32

The lure of brownie points, particularly Stonewall brownie points, seems very strong.

Policewoman is found guilty of gross misconduct for making up a story about transphobia in the workplace during a job interview for promotion

stillvicarinatutu · 11/12/2022 18:23

Yep Felix Vcop and an outcome code sent to Sgt, all enquiries documented on the enquiry log and justification for filing documented.
Exactly same.

Felix125 · 11/12/2022 09:12

stillvicarinatutu
I don't know the details either - but if they complain, they will be told what the reasons are for closing the case and what enquiries have been done.

You're force is probably similar to us with closure codes and VCOP being at the top of the list if you're wanting to close an enquiry.

stillvicarinatutu · 11/12/2022 04:26

I'll always answer any questions honestly from my experience. And I'm really happy to help with a bit of advice where I can , some of the stuff I've been reading has been a real eye opener that's for sure .

stillvicarinatutu · 10/12/2022 21:03

No worries hat

Xmas Smile
HatThatWearsYou · 10/12/2022 20:31

Interesting. I really, genuinely appreciate you taking the time to respond to my question @stillvicarinatutu so thank you for that.

stillvicarinatutu · 10/12/2022 20:18

Thinking on this I think I saw laziness and bias more back when I joined .

Women were not well represented in the force. And I overheard some stuff that made me cringe at times - from men and women . I think every team has a cop they could name who does as little as possible.

Public are more savvy at challenging things I think - which is good .

stillvicarinatutu · 10/12/2022 20:04

And yes Felix*

I concur. It's just hard is t it when you're the victim and just want something sorted out and keep getting no where . I don't know the details of bearys investigation.
