No.

'In August 2022 we commissioned a survey of our subscribers to help us plan to deliver services and support to LGB people. One of the questions we asked was about sexual orientation. That data showed that 34% are lesbian, 33% are gay men, 12% are bisexual, 20% are heterosexual and 1% preferred not to say.'

Before they said 6% of subscribe

antelopevalley · 31/10/2022 10:17

It means a charity claiming to represent LGB people should have in its membership a majority LGB people.

BordoisAgain · 31/10/2022 09:57

Does that mean heterosexual people shouldn't be supporting stonewall then?

What about non trans people running trans charities?

GreenUp · 31/10/2022 00:58

LGB Alliance are not a membership organisation. There are no "members". So on what basis are you making this claim?

Straight people can be attracted to either sex according to gender theory. So even if there was any truth in your claim, such people could be included by LGBA.

Unless you define "straight" as heterosexual regardless of how feminine or masculine someone feels - but that would make you GC to some extent.

I want to stop debating people’s lives

So says a man ... Do you think the men will EVER stop debating WOMEN'S lives?

THIS.

There's been a relentless attack debate on women's lives / language /identities and rights carried out by countless men and their useful idiot "allies".

And finally women are speaking out and saying NO.

LGB Alliance membership is mainly straight people. Why would they have them on.

No.

But you do not represent the LGB community if the majority of your membership are straight.

You are maybe getting confused about the different uses of the word “represent”. Even we’re you right about the statistics (and you are not), you don’t have to share any characteristics of a group that you are representing when the discussion is about lobbying, legal work etc. My lawyer often represents me, but doesn’t need to look like me, think like me, act like me or share my sexuality to do so.

The England football team represents England the nation at the World Cup, but that doesn’t mean that they should have 63% of the squad being obese.

Are they though? Do you have percentages of their membership? How many are L or B or S?

This sort of thinking could kinda fuck up the dogs trust and well...any charity, really 🤔

FigRollsAlly · 31/10/2022 00:52

If you go to the LGB Alliance website and look at the page entitled Myths you will see that in fact only 20% of their subscribers are straight.

Merida46 · 31/10/2022 00:46

The only people doing the shouting are the masked, mainly male, thugs shouting down women who want to speak about issues that affect real women!

Pixiedust1234 · 31/10/2022 00:44

Probably because of who they represent. Have I fallen for a trick question? 🤔

Intru · 31/10/2022 00:44

antelopevalley · 31/10/2022 00:26

LGB Alliance membership is mainly straight people. Why would they have them on.

Because they are a charity involved with protecting the rights of the LGB community. If you want only people who are L, G, or B to be spoken to about this there are plenty of LGBA members who tick one of those boxes.

This was just a tiny part of the programme, it was mostly about UK politics this week in general. It wasn't in any sense a debate about Stonewall itself or its policies or aims - it was just something that came up tangentially in the context of Kemi Badenoch's appointment. Anderson had been invited because he describes himself as a "long-time Conservative-watcher" or something - can't remember if that's the exact words but that's the gist.

But yes it would be good to have Bev or Kate on one week too - again as general politics commentators as well as for any specialist issues that come up!

LGB Alliance membership is mainly straight people. Why would they have them on.

ZandathePanda · 30/10/2022 23:43

I just looked at that clip without the sound on so as not to wake anyone. Does he sound as angry as he looks?

stealtheatingtunnocks · 30/10/2022 22:38

He knows he has joined a sinking ship.

he’s stupid enough to believe he shits polystyrene

fucking idiots took over the asylum some time ago

LadyLobbyist · 30/10/2022 22:33

I know Iain a bit professionally. Always had a lot of time for him as a very bright (gay) lobbyist and business owner, but have been shocked by his complete capture TBH.

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 30/10/2022 22:33

So, instead of a Winter of Discontent, we'll have a Winter in a (big) Disco Tent?

Hmm, not sure this will avoid the discontent bit.

TheClogLady · 30/10/2022 22:26

Pixiedust1234 · 30/10/2022 22:05

I thought I had misheard him originally but reading it on the link he really did say "I believe in a big tent". What the heck does that mean?

It means the trans umbrella ☂ just got so wide it turned into a big top 🎪 !

He means one of the inflatable ones, with a porch.
