I cannot think of anything better to say than to quote this tweet by Alice Sullivan:

"You cannot just take off your master and senior tutor hats when sending a message to the college. You remain in post. This implies a corporate view on sex and gender from the institution.

This messaging produces a hostile environment for gender critical staff and students."

They are weak and they don't want anyone to hate them. What they will soon discover is that now EVERYONE will hate them.

The only thing which would go any way towards satisfying the TRA mob is cancelling the talk and a grovelling apology together with allowing a trans group to re-educate people. Even then they would still never be trusted. Have some integrity FFS.

Wankers.
No other word.
The whole bloody point of uni is to have your thinking not so much challenged as put through a mincer.

So Pippa went to a women's college at the most highly regarded University in the country, worked for a magic circle law firm, acquired a PhD and then became the first female Master of Caius?

Given all the special treatment and privileges an elite woman can get to ease her path to the top - and then she turns around and denounces another woman for having opinions she doesn't like?

It's interesting, isn't it, how second wave feminism is often denounced as 'white feminism', supposedly made by privileged white middle and upper class women for their own kind, when that really seems to be more of a problem in the here and now, with intersectional feminism. I can't count the number of times when I've seen a privileged white woman with a degree from an elite university lash out at another woman, often using women of colour as an argumentative prop.

Projection.

I want to know, what is it about elite female education that it seems to erase all compassion for the other members of your sex?

Reminds me of Alison Phipps too

Caius should be a place for the highest quality of research to be produced and discussed, rather than polemics.

Are they listening?

They're scared of the students, aren't they?

TheBiologyStupid · 21/10/2022 11:15

Here's Pippa: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pippa_Rogerson

MrsOvertonsWindow · 21/10/2022 11:00

Are they 12? They should be embarrassed at pressing send on that.

ControversialOpening · 21/10/2022 10:47

This is a Pontius Pilate move.

Pippa and Andrew know they cannot get away with banning the talk but they are terrified of the TRAs, so they are washing their hands.

They are weak and they don't want anyone to hate them. What they will soon discover is that now EVERYONE will hate them.

TheBiologyStupid · 21/10/2022 10:07

Using the college's data for their personal communication seems like a breach of GDPR to me (but I'm definitely not a lawyer).

At least the event is going ahead, just without "Pippa and Andrew". Shame they're not attending, as they might actually learn something.

Asdavaluesausage · 19/10/2022 21:45

Are we sure Pippa and Andrew are not the same person a la Pips Bunce?

Igmum · 19/10/2022 21:11

Appalling. 'Pippa and Andrew' have clearly never bothered to read any of her work. I hope they are inundated with letters from donors and alumnae stopping their donations and citing this as their reason. That would reverse their decision pretty quickly
