Because they weren’t born as if they were men?

🙂

when biology hits the wall.

What part of biology means women can't register for the draft? Women serve in all the armed services, women in other countries are eligible for conscription.

It's sexism not biology.

"Rational: acknowledging the possibility that men might claim a female identity to escape the draft.

Hateful: saying some men claim a female identity to get easy access to vulnerable women and girls."

BloodyHellKen · 11/10/2022 13:41

Ironically this is TWs opportunity to realise being a woman isn't all about make up and frills. It also includes being shat on by your government if it suits.

Maybe the draft gives TW the most authentic experience of womanhood yet 🤔🤣

HermioneWeasley · 11/10/2022 13:28

This pisses me off so much - so TWAW for the purposes of showers, rape crisis centres, prisons, sports but the moment it inconveniences the government then they know exactly what sex everyone is

bet they get the share accommodation and showers with the women in the military

*morale, not moral. Autocorrect.

Yep. You need to keep the reproductive capacity going. Women are (perversely) too valuable to send into combat.

Yep. One man can impregnate multiple women, but each woman can only bear (usually) one live young at a time, so a loss of breeding males is far less significant than a loss of breeding females.

Plus male average strength is much higher than female, so most men can be made into effective enough soldiers, capable of carrying the heavy equipment, body armour, weaponry etc fairly quickly and easily. Most women will require a far longer time period to develop the physical strength required, and a far greater number will not be able to do so.

Plus standard issue military gear is made for men not women, so body armour etc won't fit women. Interchangeable kit on a battlefield is useful.

Plus men have higher levels of aggression, due to testosterone and societal conditioning, making men more easily shaped into soldiers who will kill when ordered.

Plus the psychological impact of being able to tell men they are fighting to keep "their" women safe.

Plus women are vulnerable to rape in war. Women being raped has a detrimental impact on the moral of the country/ fighting alliance - babies born of rapes by enemy soldiers disrupt the "us Vs them" dynamic.

Really, there are a lot of reasons why women haven't been subject to the draft, none of which apply to transwomen.

Torunette · 11/10/2022 12:25

What I suspect they will do is say that TW are M for draft purposes, but evidence of regular and required hormone prescription makes you medically exempt.

That way, they can stop the GOOJF card, but also refuse any male taking x-sex hormones, which would be a significant logistics issue.

jeffgoldblum · 11/10/2022 12:17

Yep ! , I think one of the reasons men hate us is because of this! , they need us to procreate , if they could separate women from this they would!

turbonerd · 11/10/2022 10:54

@jeffgoldblum
nr 2 is hitting the nail right on the head.

weird that.
»we do want women in the draft, but only those women born with testicles and a penis. Thank you for your attention».

jeffgoldblum · 11/10/2022 10:40

Oh and obviously we are all fluffy and weak!

jeffgoldblum · 11/10/2022 10:38

I believe historically, women were not part of the draft because of two things .
1 . Needed at home to look after children, keep the country rolling.

  1. Needed to breed the future generation, if the amount of women of child bearing age died , it would affect the population of said county.
oldwomanwhoruns · 11/10/2022 10:38

But how is the Administration going to know just who are 'trans-women' and who are real women? If they are currently allowing men to change their M/F markers on official documentation?
Perhaps someone with some sense over there will finally realise that it is a really, really bad idea to let (and encourage) men to be able to falsify their basic records.
And they will have to stop pretending that these men are women. Because they are clearly not, when it comes to things that matter for the defence of the country.
And with Russia sabre-rattling, this is not just an academic issue.

Torunette · 11/10/2022 10:25

I wondered when this one would click.

It seems they have finally realised that they have created legislation and policy that pretty much hands out a "get out of the draft" card to any male who wants one.

It's either that TW are M for this situation or include females in the draft -- and there is no way the US public will accept females being included in the draft. No way on God's green earth. They try to push that one, and it's civil war time.

Although, interestingly, it could put a stop to US foreign interventionism. People may be prepared to send their sons to fight wars abroad, but they will not be prepared to send their daughters into a potential Vietnam mark 2, even if those daughters are solely in combat support roles.

MervynPumpkinhead · 11/10/2022 10:06

@SirSamVimesCityWatch you have articulated perfectly my views on this.

Foxesforme · 11/10/2022 09:59

@SirSamVimesCityWatch
I am GC and absolutely see the point and why this is a good thing from a legal perspective re sports etc.

However, the idea of conscription terrifies me and laughing at any group of people forced to be included in that just doesn't sit right with me.

That governments are two faced isn't a surprise either.

napody · 11/10/2022 09:56

SirSamVimesCityWatch · 11/10/2022 09:47

Maybe we shouldn't be laughing. But I am.

Not at TW being included in a military draft. Conscription is obviously pretty unpleasant for all concerned. But at the fact that the very people who will shout and scream and write into law that TWAW then turn around and say, oh, but not in this instance, when it suits us, thanks. Despite insisting that TWAW when they are destroying women's sports and attacking women prisoners in the female prison estate. Because obviously women don't matter to them.

Because to be honest, it's laugh or cry, and if I start crying I might not stop.

This. Its like the exemptions from heredity laws for transmen in the UK. Without getting into conscription is right or wrong, the point is gender bollocks is only questioned when those in power stand to lose out. Vulnerable women being affected is not even worth considering.

Conscription is horrific for anyone. Don't think we should be fighting for it as women or laughing about transwomen being included either.

Absolutely agree. Why is funny that someone is able to avoid the draft by saying they are a woman but it is fine for women to avoid the draft?

Tbh, I am surprised that the draft doesn't apply to men and women. In Israel, for example, it does.

Yes after over a century fighting for equality why are we treating men and women differently? I'm surprised it isn't challenged more as it is blatant discrimination.

oldwomanwhoruns · 11/10/2022 09:26

This has just got to end up in a court case with the ACLU? More wonderful sunlight. This could be huge. If they are men for the draft, then they must be men for sports, changing rooms etc?? This could be really huge.
