Very interesting that hes going to raise it in the Dail and hadn't heard about the review by Colm Henry, seems a bit odd to complete their review before the Cass review is finished
"It is understood Mr Flanagan will now raise concerns in the Dáil. The HSE said Colm Henry, its chief clinical officer, commissioned an internal review of the Cass report and this is close to completion. The review involved Mr Henry travelling to London to meet with Prof Cass.
"He has engaged a number of times in recent months with Prof Cass, including a meeting in London, to discuss the challenges of developing a gender service in circumstances in which data and evidence on which to base a clinical approach is limited," the HSE said.
"In line with many other national health services, we are working to ensure that we can provide the best possible service to those in need of it now, as well as ensuring the service we provide evolves in line with ongoing emerging evidence. This will not involve any abrupt change to current referral pathways, which incidentally is in line with the approach advocated by Professor Cass."
