Long twitter thread here. She's had her electronic devices seized too, and has been accused of being certain posters on Kiwi Farms and Mumsnet

@BernardBlacksWineIceLolly and @BreakWindandFire sorry to tag you but she's been accused of being you!

We all know who this will be, but as Caroline says, please don't speculate/discuss them.

That is hilarious and terrifying at the same time.

You do wonder how someone who uses Help for Fees for serial lawsuits can afford membership of a club.

(Actually, the club in question is £177 per year. It’s not as “exclusive” as some people would like to make out).

twitter.com/CF_Farrow/status/1578501727426613250?s=20&t=bXvVfyyk8tA_AtH1WiVuPA

The police asked me if I had written to various clubs to have the complainant’s membership rescinded. I denied this and asked if they had any actual evidence of this.

“They haven’t provided us with it yet”.

It's just the blackest of comedies

DworkinWasRight · 08/10/2022 07:58

IP addresses relate to devices, not to email addresses. So someone using a fake email could still be traced (at least in broad terms) through their IP address.

Cailin66 · 08/10/2022 07:49

SnapeAlways · 04/10/2022 15:38

They could have issued a search warrant, taken devices and invited me in for interview afterwards. No need to search my socks for drugs & deprive me of my liberty.

I cannot go into detail but it seems that essentially this is about a Twitter spat and comments on Antipodean website posted by other people.

One poster had posted screenshots from MN and I was asked “what’s going on in this post”. I had to read it a few times and say, without context it seemed very rude and that these appeared to be posts from MN because the header said Mumsnet.com

The police then pointed at the screenshots and asked who are these people, are they you?!

So the police believe those mumsnet posts are criminal and they will be coming to arrest the women who posted them. Is that not a logical conclusion after what happened to you.

landyland · 08/10/2022 01:46

How on earth can a forum tell authorities who a username definitively belongs to when most people sign up with a random email address that required no personal information to setup? Or I could setup a Gmail address with anyone's name in it and with their name and birthdate, if known eg [email protected], doesn't mean I am them if I then used that email address to setup MN account called imkatemiddletonreallyiam.

Can they get IP addresses and compel ISPs to say who's account was using that IP. Again though, DHCP and share households, how could you ever definitively prove who posted something?

Thank you very much for your advice.

TheLassWiADelicateAir · 07/10/2022 23:22

Thank you for answering ClogLady. I had no idea. My Mumsnet account uses my ordinary email with my name in it,

I strongly recommend you dereg, set up a new email account with Gmail, live.com or proton mail which has no accurate real life information about you , for use only with MN and re-register.

Don't connect the new email address to any existing addresses.

I have not read the full thread, but even if the police are allowed to prosecute someone for comments on talk forums, wouldn’t they check with ( in this case ) Mumsnet to know if Carolyn Farrow does indeed have the username of the alleged culprit?^

How would the site owner know who owns a username?

Sign up for Internet forums is usually just email and password, maybe a date of birth (but not necessarily a real one) no reason for any member to share more than that (unless it’s a forum for minors in which case you would expect members to be verified and the site fully moderated 24 hours a day)

Considering a Mumsnet intern stole IP data, I would doubt any FWR poster uses a primary email for forums anywhere, unless they plan to post under their real name (as Caroline does on KF, due to unknown
persons impersonating her)
.

The KF owner doesn’t supply any info on users to law enforcement without a valid warrant, and Mumsnet has previously refused to hand over info for a civil case without a court order.

Thank you for answering ClogLady. I had no idea. My Mumsnet account uses my ordinary email with my name in it, and I even inadvertently signed off some messages to MN HQ with my name. But it’s interesting to know they wouldn’t hand it over anyway without a court order.

It seems worrying and frustrating that one person can accuse another of a post they never wrote but for which they may be arrested.

I am confused why my GB News appearance is being blamed for vague arson threats to the complainant.

The appearance was about the disproportionate police response and did not touch upon the complainant at all.

BirdinaHedge · 07/10/2022 19:04

Ereshkigalangcleg · 05/10/2022 15:52

Agree, pickle. I do not condone this image, it's disgusting. However equal fantasies have been posted about killing specific gender critical women, and the police do nothing.

Including a Twitter exchange about burning down (ie arson) the venue of the FiLIA Conference. Twitter didn’t see these tweets as a problem. I don’t think the police have taken any action.

I’ll be at the FiLIA conference- if they attack us, I am ready to defend myself.

Did Vice just assume her guilt? I'm not sure that article follows guidelines on reporting active cases.

Ugh. I’ve skimmed the first half of the Vice article. It’s victim blaming, burn the witch anti- woman tone is just awful. It seems to assume Ms Farrow is guilty.

We need to remember. This is what men really think about women.

Ha, thought it was just me. Glad to know I'm not alone.

Just after Sarah Everard was killed, my local police force put the onus on women's behaviour, not men's, by tweeting this.

Incidently, her killer, Wayne Couzens, was back in court three days ago over variois incidents of flashing (pre Sarah's murder). I missed this, and wasn't sure if others kbew.

What has happened to all of the messages saying -

Dear Men,

Stop intimidating, threatening, assaulting, raping, and murdering women.

???

It’s worth checking CF’s Twitter for the latest updates.

It is.

People on this thread have been very careful not to name this person. The name has been introduced by somebody whose motives may or may not be to get the thread removed so I'm reporting the post.

Hayden seems to have given a quote to vice, so they have disclosed their own involvement

Just be cautious about what you post

And just in case Marge wants to excuse Margeself with some sort of ‘that was ages ago’ excuse, this is from the 2021 Vanity Fair article I linked to above.

There would be no Proud Boys without Vice.

Yep.

Well, tbf it’s hard to tell if McInnes is actually a believer in Far Right ideology or just a disrupter who wants to watch the world burn:

That's both libellous and in contempt of court. Is Vice US-based? It's probably not subject to our contempt laws but it can certainly be sued for libel in the UK courts.

Quite extraordinary that the journalist was too lazy to do even the minimum amount of research on Hayden to discover Hayden's long list of criminal convictions and pattern of vexatious litigation and reporting to the police of people Hayden dislikes.
